  Hello. I'm trying to get rid of unnecessary symbols after decimal seperator of my double value. I'm doing it this way: DecimalFormat format = new DecimalFormat("#.#####"); value = Double.valueOf(format.format(41251.50000000012343)); But when I run this code, it throws: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "41251,5" at sun.misc.FloatingDecimal.readJavaFormatString(FloatingDecimal.java:1224) at java.lang.Double.valueOf(Double.java:447) at ... As I see, Double.valueOf() works great with strings like "11.1", but it chokes on strings like "11,1". How do I work around this? Is there a more elegant way then something like Double.valueOf(format.format(41251.50000000012343).replaceAll(",", ".")); Is there a way to override the default decimal separator value of DecimalFormat class?

• How to set specific column settings in JTable?

  How can I make my JTable show specific stuff for each column? Can I use an Object for more than one column?   I have this function that gets the fileData as a byte array and a file path. The error I am getting is when it tries to set the fileInfo in the code bewlo.   Hi, I have a Date class which wraps over the DateTime? class (aids in mocking DateTime.Now, our domain ,etc). The null value semantics of a component are ad hoc. When reloading the containing object, NHibernate will assume that if all component columns are null, then the entire component is null. This should be okay for most purposes. Can I override this behaviour? I want my Date class to be instantiated even if date is null. Thanks,

  So I'm learning Scala at the moment, and I'm trying to create an abstract vector class with a vector-space of 3 (x,y,z coordinates). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

• Making self-logging modules with Log::Log4perl

  Is there a way to use Log::Log4perl to make a smart self-logging module that logs its operations to a file even in the absence of the calling script not initializing Log4perl? As far as I can tell from the documentation, the only way to use Log4perl is to initialize it in the running script from a configuration, then modules implementing Log4perl calls log themselves based on the caller's Log4perl config. Instead, I'd like the modules to provide a default initialization config for Log4perl. This would provide the default file appender for the module's category. Then, I could override this behavior by initing Log4perl in the caller with a different config if needed, and everything would hopefully just work. Is this sort of defensive logging behavior possible or am I going to need to rely on initing Log4perl in every .pl script that calls the module I want logged?

I need to do this programatically so that I can configure the object at runtime. • Weird landscape UITabBarController Application startup

  Hi there. My application is quite simple, but I have some problems when it starts. I setted in the Info.plist to be landscaped, but it seems to ignore the order. In fact, when the app is loading the Simulator is landscaped, but then it returns in portrait mode. This is the hierarchy of the views and controllers: MainViewController (extends UITabBarController just to override shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:) Three extended UITableViewControllers as tabs (also those have the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation correctly setted up). If I kinda force the orientation of the device to Landscape with: [[UIDevice currentDevice] setOrientation: UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; Then for an instant the Simulator flashes in portrait mode, and then it goes landscaped. The problem is that in this way, the auto-rotation animations gets started, which is something I cannot tollerate. I just want a fixed, landscaped application. Any clues? Am I missing something?

• How do you map a composite id to a composite user type with Fluent NHibernate?

  i'm working w/ a legacy database is set-up stupidly with an index composed of a char id column and two char columns which make up a date and time, respectively. I have created a icompositeusertype for the date and time columns to map to a single .NET DateTime property on my entity, which works by itself when not part of the id. i need to somehow use a composite id with key property mapping that includes my icompositeusertype for mapping to the two char date and time columns. Apparently w/ my version of Fluent NHibernate, CompositeIdentityPart doesn't have a CustomTypeIs() method, so i can't just do the following in my override: mapping.UseCompositeId() .WithKeyProperty(x => x.Id, CommonDatabaseFieldNames.Id) .WithKeyProperty(x => x.FileCreationDateTime) .CustomTypeIs<FileCreationDateTimeType>(); is something like this even possible w/ NHibernate let alone Fluent? I haven't been able to find anything on this.

• Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

  Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor? I have one file needsOptimization.cpp where I would like to override the -O1 with -O2 instead. • ViewPager resize height to Content

  ViewPager does not wrap its height to its content. For my layout I need to set the hight then dynamically because it is nested in other layouts. Therefore I created a ScrollView as content of the ViewPager and check its height in onCreate method of the Fragment, but the ScrollView has always the same size. • How do you use multiple versions of the same R package?

  In order to be able to compare two versions of a package, I need to able to choose which version of the package that I load. R's package system is set to by default to overwrite existing packages, so that you always have the latest version. How do I override this behaviour? My thoughts so far are: I could get the package sources, edit the descriptions to give different names and build, in effect, two different packages. I'd rather be able to work directly with the binaries though, as it is much less hassle. I don't necessarily need to have both versions of the packages loaded at the same time (just installed somewhere at the same time). I could perhaps mess about with Sys.getenv('R_HOME') to change the place where R installs the packages, and then .libpaths() to change the place where R looks for them. This seems hacky though, so does anyone have any better ideas?

  So this is probably really basic, but I'm fairly new to all this. I am using Entity Framework with POCO entities. I want to call a method when a class property is set. I am trying to build an advertisement platform. I have a Customer class, a Venue class and an Advertisement class. I have my indexes set up in such a way that I can call customer.venue. However, I want to be able to call Customer.Venue.CurrentAdvertisement and have it execute a method (if CurrentAdvertisement is null) and return the current advertisement. I know I can explicitly set it every time, but I want to be able to override my classes so that whenever the CurrentAdvertisement property is accessed via LINQ it runs that method to return an ad. In order to do this I need to pass the Venue class a variable (venue name).

Whenever I call the http-method I get org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException from my org.springframework.http.converter.json.MappingJacksonHttpMessageConverter which is bound in my application context. Is the @Transactional annotation valid for the MessageConverter as well?

• PHP Default Timezone issue on Fedora + Zend Server CE

  I have ZendServer CE (PHP 5.2) installed on a Fedora VM, and I have the system timezone set to 'America/Chicago'. I have date.timezone = 'UTC' in my php.ini file, and when I call date_default_timezone_get(), or display date('T') on a web page, it says 'CDT'. The documentation on php.net for date_default_timezone_get() says it follows this order when choosing a default timezone: - Reading the timezone set using the date_default_timezone_set() function (if any) - Reading the TZ environment variable (if non empty) - Reading the value of the date.timezone ini option (if set) - Querying the host operating system (if supported and allowed by the OS) If I change the system timezone through the 'setup' GUI, and reboot the server, date('T') returns whatever I changed the system timezone to, regardless of what php.ini says. I also don't have a TZ environment variable, and I am not currently using date_default_timezone_set() anywhere in my code. Any idea what might be going on? I realize I can always override the system timezone by calling date_default_timezone_set('UTC'), but I'd rather rely on the php.ini file if possible. Thanks for the help, Dave

• How can I fit an Image into another imageview

  I have an imageview with a default image already set from the xml, and I want to change it's image pragmatically so that the new image will scale to the previous image size, both of the images are rounded. I have tried setting the scaleType attribute to different values before setting the new image but it didn't work. • Asp.Net : IHttpModule + m_context.Server.Transfer = session state error

  I have an IHttpModule that implements IRequiresSessionState. The session state is at "on" on the page directive and I also added it to the web.config. In the method "OnBeginRequest" in the IHttpModule, I make a Server.Transfer but I get the error : Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. When I access the page directly or with a Response.Redirect, there is no error. Any idea? Update : The error occur in a page extending System.Web.UI.Page in the method InitializeCulture() which is an override.
