• Flowlayout panel and autosizing child controls doesn't work

  I am trying to get a very simple autosizing layout on a winform (C# .NET). I've tried TableLayoutPanels and FlowLayoutPanels but nothing works. I have a usercontrol which is a container for other usercontrols which are created at runtime - I've called it StackPanel as I want it to list the child controls vertically. I've tried this using a FlowLayoutPanel, TableLayoutPanel and a Panel (with each control docked to the top). The child usercontrol consists of a label and then any number of radiobuttons (or any other standard control - it doesn't matter). When the child controls are created, the label text is set (if this is long it needs to wrap to a new line) and the radio buttons are added. There seems to be no combination of docking/autosizing or manual size setting using the Resize events that can get everything to show without clipping and still resize with the form. Thanks!

  Hi, i am having a UIWebView showing and HTML page that has some checkboxes, radio buttons. My Application has tabbar controller that switches b/w two controllers. How i can maintain the current state of UIWebView. ( e.g. i have selected a checkbox and i change the tab and go to other ViewController and again come back to UIWebView. the WebView resets itself and goes to the start... i want to maintain the state of UIWebView ( all the checkboxes clicked) .. how i will do that ?? any idea ?? thanks in advance

  I have a static variable partner in the class. And I want to set a value of these variable whenever a radio button is pressed. This is the code I tried to use: for (String playerName: players) { option = new JRadioButton(playerName, false); option.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) { partner = playerName; } }); partnerSelectionPanel.add(option); group.add(option); } The problem here is that the actionPerformed does not see the variable playerName created in the loop. How can I pass this variable to the actionListener?

  I just study window programming with awt. I see through several codes but I can not get concepts of JFrame, JLabel and ContentPane. I think JFrame only make outer Frame. ContentPane is container that contain JLabel that has contents(text, button, radio etc...). I don't know this is correct T.T Why I ask this is I failed combine the contents. • Java and gstreamer-java initialisation error

  I am building a small app which will play streaming audio from the internet in java (mainly internet radio stations). I have decided to use the gstreamer-java library for the sound, which uses JNA. I would like to include a check in the code, to see whether the gstreamer library has been initialised. When I have left the "Gst.init()" code out (to mimic when the library has not been initialised correctly), the application throws out the following messages: (process:21888): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.22.3/gobject/gtype.c:2458: initialization assertion failed, use IA__g_type_init() prior to this function (process:21888): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed The app calls the gstreamer-java library. The error messages appear but the thread continues to run, hogging the CPU. Is there any way to catch the error or to add a check to prevent it from happening? An alternative would be to put the "Gst.init()" in the main class, but I am not sure if this would always guarantee the gstreamer library is initialised.

Check if Bluetooth is Enabled? But, my customer told me that Rhapsody and DI Radio apps both support it. Then I found iOS5 has Core Bluetooth framework. https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/CoreBluetooth/Reference/CoreBluetooth_Framework/CoreBluetooth_Framework.pdf CBCentralManagerStatePoweredOff status seems like the one. But, the description says this api only supports Bluetooth 4.0 low energy devices. Did anyone try doing the same thing? I want to support current popular bluetooth headsets, or bluetooth enabled steering wheel on the car. I don't know if it's worth trying when it only supports some brand new bluetooth.

• How do I apply css for textboxes only but not for all the <input> types like CheckBoxes, etc.?

  If all browsers supported attribute selectors, we could easily do the following: input[type='text'] { font:bold 0.8em 'courier new',courier,monospace; } input[type='radio'] { margin:0 20px; } input[type='checkbox'] { border:2px solid red; But I don't think all IE versions of ^ and greater support this. I think I'd like to avoid skins. Not sure why, other than I tried them and I recall having a negative experience. It was probably my lack of knowledge. Are there any issues in using and CSS, external or otherwise? What's the best way to handle this? Currently I am assigning separate classes to each control type.

  I am looking to search for and replace a known string from within another string. Should I use str_replace() or ereg_replace()?   I've just started reading Joe Armstrongs book on Erlang and listened to his excellent talk on Software Engineering Radio. Its an interesting language/system and one whose time seems to have come around with the advent of multi-core machines. My question is: what is there to stop it being ported to the JVM or CLR? I realise that both virtual machines aren't setup to run the lightweight processes that Erlang calls for - but couldn't these be simulated by threads? Could we see a lightweight or cutdown version of Erlang on a non Erlang VM?

  I have an AJAX call which loads an Dialog page, now depending upon the content of the data returned on the AJAX call, I want to change the title of the Window, how do I do that. • Does Google provide any Android tutorials that teach how to implement a Service?

  I apologize in advance for the "newbie" nature of this question. Here is my predicament: I'm brand new to android and developing in general. I'm using android's SDK with eclipse Galileo. I've followed several tutorials to create different layouts. I've even learned recently how to use radio buttons and verify which ones were selected. Now I need to create a service that downloads and updates an xml file within the application. I've tried to locate a simple tutorial for services on Google's developer site but so far, so bad. If they exist could somebody point me in the right direction? On the other hand, I've been told Google's tutorials are a little out dated. Is that true? If so, are there any other tutorials that would hand-hold (and possibly over-explain) how to use a service to a true newbie for free (like google)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  How do you create a "Browse" button in a WIX dialog. I currently have a custom dialog box with four radio buttons (Dev, QA, Stage, and Prod), and a text field for a filename. The install of course dies if the user enters a bad filename. I would be happy first of all just to verify that the file they entered exists. Secondly, I would like to add a File-Browser button, if such things exists in WIX. But even then, I would imagine the user could type in any file name, and I should still check to see if it exists. • Expression Blend 3 (Silverlight) gives me nothing on project compile

  When I press F5 the project compiles, and the new web page launches. However, the silverlight control loads (the standard load counter counts to 100%) but then the whole control just disappear. Only the left default menu bar (feedback etc) is visible. It's a very small project, my first actually. This also happened earlier today, but then I removed each thing one at a time and found that it was some radio buttons that caused it. I deleted them and remade them and it ran fine again. Now the same thing happened again, but it is something else, not sure yet. The question is; is this a familiar bug or am I just doing something wrong? My code-behind consist mostly of visibility changes, around 20 lines of code.

• Idioms for a three-state toggle?

  I have a table column where each row has one of three states, and the purpose of the row is to offer manipulation AND display of this property with three states. My current development view is to have three tightly packed radio buttons with labels at the head of the columns (and every 50 rows or so) and onClick they send an AJAX request and thar she blows. This is fugly. Is there a standard idiom for a control like this? I'm currently mocking up something similar to the iPhone on/off toggle, but with a "middle" state. Any input would be welcome.
