• ImageView scale type not working in list activity

  I have used ImageView's before and understand the different scale types that can be set... However I am having an incredibly difficult time trying to get an ImageView to scale properly in the row of a ListActivity or an ExpandableListActivity. I have tried setting the android:scaleType property to every single value but the image never scales down. I have set the min and max sizes as well and they don't seem to have any effect. I have done both of these things in both the XMl and in code to no avail... Does anyone have any ideas or perhaps a workaround? Thanks in advance!

• Java dropping half of UDP packets

  Greetings, I have a simple client/server setup. The server is in C and the client that is querying the server is Java. My problem is that, when I send bandwidth-intensive data over the connection, such as Video frames, it drops up to half the packets. I make sure that I properly fragment the udp packets on the server side (udp has a max payload length of 2^16). I verified that the server is sending the packets (printf the result of sendto()). But java doesn't seem to be getting half the data. Furthermore, when I switch to TCP, all the video frames get through but the latency starts to build up, adding several seconds delay after a few seconds of runtime. Is there anything obvious that I'm missing? I just can't seem to figure this out. Thanks, Andrew

• jQuery UI Slider - Animation of handle and scroll content not in sync

  Im having troubles getting the jQuery UI Slider customized for my purposes. On load the slider and its content should automatically animate to a certain position. Ideally it should animate to the very right, then stop and then animate back (as a loop) as long as the user doesn't hovers over scroll content or slider.   hii, i have develop my own snmp service..and i want to plot a graph of an OID provided. so, i have create graph in cacti. -) Its is showing device up. -) It is creating rrd file.(RRDTool says OK). -) showing the graph but its empty. but when i check it say rrdtool fetch AVERAGE it showing me all the values nan only..the monitored OID is having value 47 and i have set min=0 and max=100 i am using cacti appliance by rpath http://www.rpath.org/ui/#/appliances?id=http://www.rpath.org/api/products/cacti-appliance still i can show value on graph.. where is the problem??can anyone plz tell me??

Server1 tomcat 5.5.25 jvm version SUN 1.6.0_11-b03 Server2 tomcat 5.5.25 jvm version SUN 1.6.0_14-b08 Server3 tomcat 6.0.18 jvm version SUN 1.6.0_14-b08 For the three servers JVM parameters are: -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -Dcatalina.base=C:\Apache Group\apache-tomcat-5.5.25 -Dcatalina.home=C:\Apache Group\apache-tomcat-5.5.25 -Djava.endorsed.dirs=C:\Apache Group\apache-tomcat-5.5.25\common\endorsed -Djava.io.tmpdir=C:\Apache Group\apache-tomcat-5.5.25\temp vfprintf -Xms512m -Xmx1024m For some months everithing worked fine. Last friday we installed some windows updates. After the reboot tomcat doesn't start anymore, with error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap We reduced the parameter -Xmx1024m to -Xmx768m and now tomcat starts. But we need greater max heap size What happened to our servers ? Thanks in advance.

  I've got a WinForms form that contains an ElementHost control (which contains a WPF UserControl) and a Save button. In the WPF UserControl I've got a text box with some validation on it. • Mibble MIB Parser - extracting comments from the mib.

  I am using the Mibble MIB Parser to extract all simple data types from an MIB file. I've been successful until my attempt to extract comment text. Take the following module as an example: invBookList OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX INTEGER { mobydick(1), -- call me ishmael paradiselost(2), -- aComment 1984(3), -- aComment solaris(4) -- aComment } MAX-ACCESS read-only STATUS current DESCRIPTION "A few Books for an example." ::= { invMasterList 43 } According to Mibble's API, the OBJECT-TYPE can be accessed by extracting an SnmpObjectType and then calling the appropriate getter method. Which I have done, and can successfully extract all of the text except the comments in the INTEGER syntax. I have tried calling getSyntax().getComment() on the SnmpObjectType, but always returns null. getSyntax() will extract the INTEGER syntax, e.g.: mobydick(1),paradiselist(2),1984(3),solaris(4) but unfortunately strips out the comments. Any one out there have experience with Mibble Parser who knows how to extract the comments? Many Thanks.

(eg. #FFAABB) But it can have multiple nulls. (all the other rows are nulls, for this field) Table Schema ArticleId INT PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL HubId TINYINT NOT NULL CategoryId INT NOT NULL Title NVARCHAR(100) NOT NULL Content NVARCHAR(MAX) NOT NULL BorderColour VARCHAR(7) -- Can be nullable. • How do I render the scrollable regions of a canvas with IViewObject::Draw?

  Hi, I've been trying to render the entire canvas in an IWebBrowser2 control to a bitmap. IViewObject::Draw seems to be the most promising approach, but I can't get it to render anything that would requires a scroll to show. While I could automate the scrolling and stitch the images together, this would look weird with any fixed position elements. Is this even doable? Additionally, I've tried to set the controller's size to one that would allow the entire contents to display without needing to scroll, but Windows caps the max size to the current screen resolution, so that only gets me partially there. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm currently doing this in the context of Win7 and IE8, but I don't think that should matter much.

  Is there a limit of how many js file I can include () in facebook? I include 5 files. no problem.. the 6th one not loaded. Then I have to put the code in the 6th one into the 5th file. then works. so, is it 5 files in max? BY THE WAY, I'm developing the apps now, not in production. so it is not in the stage of compressing JS / minizing it. :) so it is kinda annoying to got missing js files or files not loaded..etc so, what is the limit from FB? what is the file size limit? I know that the JSON request call back data limit is 5000.. but not sure about the js include.

I have this problem using JBOSS, EJB3 and MSSQL Express . i'm trying to persist an entity with an Blob attribute which was converted into a byte[], apparently it create the entity perfectly, no error was logged at jboss's console. but when i check into database the column is null. i already checked the Object to byte[] method and it is fine. i tried assigning Image and varbinary(Max) data type to this column. so i really don't know what it happening, why the column is not inserted into database. thanks a lot.

  I'm working on versioning our database and now searching for a way to drop all stored procedures and functions from a C# Console Application. I'd rather not create a stored procedure that drops all stored procedures and functions. I has to be some sql executed from C#. I tried to drop the stored procedure before creating it, but I get this message: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: 'CREATE/ALTER PROCEDURE' must be the first statement in a query batch. Script for one SP for example: DROP PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_Economatic_LoadJournalEntryFeedbackByData] SET ANSI_NULLS ON SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_Economatic_LoadJournalEntryFeedbackByData] @Data VARCHAR(MAX) AS BEGIN ... END So I guess before creating all SP's and functions I'll need to drop all SP's and functions first with one sql script.

• Problem with stackless python, cannot write to a dict

  I have simple map-reduce type algorithm, which I want to implement in python and make use of multiple cores. I read somewhere that threads using native thread module in 2.6 dont make use of multiple cores. is that true? • FakeTable with tSQLt remove triggers

  I have jsut started to use tSQLt and is about to test a trigger. I call the FakeTable procedure and do my test but the trigger is not executed. If don't use FakeTable the trigger is executed. That seems to be really bad and I canät find any info that there is any method to readded them. Then I thought the triggers are removed by FakeTable but I can recreate them after the call and did the following code in my test: DECLARE @createTrigger NVARCHAR(MAX); SELECT @createTrigger = OBJECT_DEFINITION(OBJECT_ID('MoveDataFromAToB')) EXEC tSQLt.FakeTable 'dbo.A'; EXEC(@createTrigger); I got the following error: "There is already an object named 'MoveDataFromAToB' in the database.{MoveDataFromAToB,14} (There was also a ROLLBACK ERROR -- The current transaction cannot be committed and cannot be rolled back to a savepoint.   Hi , I am looking at validation of some text boxes for somethings like required, minlength, max length, email etc... I am able to get examples that work fine on submit button on page. I want to do this validation on a button click which will only raise a ajax request and not submit of page. On internet all the sample is found was with submit button. Is there a easy way to change this code a little bit o make it work for non submit button click or any new jquery or java plugin to do the same. I am using the jquery.validation.js for now.   Im trying to write a server/service that broadcasts a message on the lan ever second or so, Kind of like a service discovery. The message needs to be received by multiple client programs that could be on the same machine or different machines. But there could be more than one program on each machine running at the same time. Im using delphi7, with indy 9.0.18 where im stuck is if i should be using UDP or IP MultiCast or if its even possible... Ive managed to get it to work with IP Multi Cast with one client per machine, but even after many trys with different bindings.. max/min ports etc, i cant seem to find a solution.

• CSS vertical centering split background image not overlapping

  is it possible to split 2 images vertically and when resizing the browser, it wont overlap but stay vertically centered? can the left image stay fixed so the right side of it won't cut off(overlap) this is what i have now, but when resizing the browser smaller, it pushes the left image underneath the right. rather have the images cut off on the outer sides and never overlap each other in the middle, make sense? #wrapper { width:1680px; max-width:1680px; height:500px; margin: 0 auto; } #left-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; left: auto; height:500px; } #right-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; right: 0px; height:500px; }

• fast algorithm implementation to sort very small set

  hello. This is the problem I ran into long time ago. I thought I may ask your for your ideas. assume I have very small set of numbers (integers), 4 or 8 elements, that need to be sorted, fast. what would be the best approach/algorithm? my approach was to use the max/min functions. I guess my question pertains more to implementation, rather than type of algorithm. At this point it becomes somewhat hardware dependent , so let us assume Intel 64-bit processor with SSE3 . Thanks

• Last byte missing when casting from varbinary to varchar

  I got the last byte losing when converting varbinary to varchar in some case. For example: DECLARE @binary varbinary(8000), @char varchar(8000) set @binary = 0x000082 set @char = CAST(@binary as varchar(8000)) select BinaryLength=DATALENGTH(@binary), CharLength=DATALENGTH(@char) The result is BinaryLength CharLength 3 2 The affected byte value is from 0x81 - 0xFE. The stranger thing is that if I use varchar(MAX) instead varchar(8000) when casting, there is no any problem. Could someone tell me the root cause of the issue? PS: I run the sql in MS SQL server 2008. Thanks!
