  • Is it possible to change the voltage on a single port on an HP ProCurve 2910al POE switch and how?

    I have a couple of HP ProCurve 2910al POE+ switches at my company that we are primarily using to power our VOIP phones that run on 48V DC. However, I have one wireless access point that I need to run off of POE, but it has to be 24V DC. I'm afraid to plug it into the POE ProCurve because I'm not sure if it will zap the device. I'm wondering if there is a way to make sure to change the voltage on a specific port to 24V instead of the (seemingly) default value of 48V. Thanks! Joel

  • which collaborative tools do you use to communicate between team members

    I work for a small company and would like to set up some sort of a collaborative tool so that team members can share thoughts, upload documents...something like sharepoint maybe, but not that suffisticated. Only good option I've seen so far is joomla CMS. Just want to get an opinion of the community on which tools they have used for these purposes. I know this is not programming related but I thought stackoverflow community would be good to get an opinion on this.

    I am curious if it is somehow possible to get an extension written for Visual Studio 2010 to work with Visual Studio 2010 Express. My problem is that I've upgraded to 2010 Express, but my company is not ready to buy the full version yet. There is an extension I would like to use, but unfortunately I cannot import it as it was built for the standard edition. Is there any way to hack it in somehow?

    I wondered how certain .NET hosting providers can safely grant full trust to their customers? Doesn't this open up everybody who is hosting with that company to potential safety issues? Or is there a way to safely restrict each customer, despite giving full trust, to "their" space without giving them the abiliy to bring down the system or spy on other customers?

I have a problem, on my company i blocked facebook.com, but the users are access on protocol https, i blocked some ip´s of facebook but they haves a lot ip, please, how to block facebook on https protocol...??   • Encyrpting a Macbook with Truecrypt (Snow Leopard + Bootcamp)

    I have a Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard and Windows 7 Pro (Bootcamp). I have encyrpted all the company computers with truecrypt and now its the Macbooks turn. Will Truecrypt only encrypt the Win 7 partition and will it disable Bootcamp, or would it install after Bootcamp, whereby after I select either the OS X or Windows partition under Bootcamp, the Truecrypt encryption for Win 7 would be activated?     I've inherited the backup support of some Windows server 2003 machines that used Yosemite Server backup 8.1 The company has joined the BizSpark program and want to use the license of Windows Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010. I've tried to email barracuda who took over Yosemite to ask this but with no success. (do you need a support contract?) I don't have a spare machine or even space for a VM to test it on, does anybody know it it will work?

Can we do something like the Hotel wifi? they just access to the network and just key in the password, then they are able to access the internet for certain time of period. so far, i have looking for linux solution, but they are no such program/application available. do you all have any experience on it? The current question is, does the Direct Access role offered by Server 2012 perform the same role as Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 does? I'm sure there are many differences, but my primary concerns are Sharepoint publishing, ADFS proxy, reverse proxy, remote connection, and o365 syncronization.

  • How do I prevent Outlook users voting multiple times

    Using the voting buttons in Outlook 2007, apparently users can submit votes as many times as they like. (I have just now verified this behaviour.) Is there a way to restrict the uses to just one vote each? I've found a script online which claims to do this, but there's no way I can use a script like that across our company. I'm hoping it's just a configuration setting either in the outbound email, or in the user's Outlook client.

    After uninstalling Dell's wireless utility I get a new hardware found dialog that can not find any driver for my wifi card on it's own. I'm running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, and I would like to use the default wifi handler since dell's utility does not work with my company's wireless switch.   • Move Firefox user settings to another folder on same machine

    Due to company restrictions where I currently work, My windows users folder %USERPROFILE% is space restricted. I get a warning that I must delete files before I can log off. Because of that, I have moved everything else out of my profile folder (maven repository, IntelliJ configuration & cache). I need to tell Firefox to put userprofiles somewhere else on my machine (like for instance C:\ff_profiles\ ). How do I do that?
