  • Resize form based on if subform visible

    I have a form with a subform on it. If subform contains no records, it's visible property is false. In that case, I'd like the outer form to shrink so that there isn't a big empty space where the subform was. The long way to do this would be by setting the position for all the controls on the form based on whether the subform is visible. However, is there an easier way to do this (maybe with the can grow/ can shrink property)?

    Hi, I have a problem and can not find answer and any tip if it is possible to intercept value types in C# by Castle dynamic proxy? I want to intercept IDictionary with INotifyChanged interface. I need this to update view when presenter is changing model. Boxing decimal in object only for making interface is not good idea... maybe somebody have idea how to intrcept value types? I know general guidelines on query optimizations (using indexes, selecting only needed fields etc.), my question is about SQL Server optimization.   • asp.net c# ip address lost after postback?

    Hi all, One of my functions in a class is called GetIpAddress() which returns the following string: System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"] This all works well in regular page loads and gets my ip address, but when i for example let a user place a comment, then the ip address is lost after postback and i get an empty string returned.   • Is there a sexier way to write this jQuery selector?

    I want to select all the children of the body element before element with id foo (which is a child of body). Since it doesn't look like there are :before() or :after() selectors, I've got it working like this: $('body > :first').nextUntil('#foo').andSelf(); but it seems kludgy. Could this be done with fewer function calls, or more efficiently? Maybe something akin to $('body > *:before(#foo)') ?

  • Is there a full REPL for Erlang?

    Is there a way to have a full interpreter in Erlang, not just a "shell". Since it is a dynamic language, not being able to define named functions in the interpreter is a little bit disappointing... I suspect that it is because compilation units (modules) must be explicitly compiled for their execution by the VM, but maybe a REPL acting as a dynamic/recompilable module exist?

How to display some picture and make main window in black&white while calculating? Maybe make some dp in MainWindow a la "IsBusy" and bind a popup with picture to it?     I have an Element object that I'm currently calling .hide() on. Instead, I'd like to fade out the opacity of the entire Element (and its children) to 100% (hidden) as a transition effect over maybe 500 ms or 1000 ms. Can Fx.Tween be used for this? Is this possible--does the MooTools framework have an effect like this in its UI library?

  • In MS Access form, how to color background of selected record?

    I have a somewhat complicated looking Access Form with a continuous display (meaning multiple records are shown at once). I'd like to change the background color of the selected record only so the end-user can easily tell which record they are on. I'm thinking of perhaps a conditional format or maybe something like this: Private Sub Detail_HasFocus() Detail.BackColor(me.color)=vbBlue End Sub and something similar for when that row loses focus. This code snippet obviously won't work, but it's the kind of code I'd like to achieve.

I created a very simple class, didn't define any comparison methods, but still instances of this class are comparable and thus sortable. Maybe, my class inherits comparison methods from somewhere. But I don't want this behaviour.
