  In MATLAB, why does the file have to be saved prior to running ? I often try quick snippets of code, which I could also easily run also on the Command Window line by line. So, why when I run them through the editor, I have to save them first ? Can this behaviour be changed, maybe ?

• Ubuntu: Graphics freeze

  We have recently updated a java application which runs on an Ubuntu PC, and are now experiencing a graphics problem that we didn't encounter before. The system is running constantly, and randomly maybe twice a month but sometimes within a few days the systems graphics will freeze, and the gnome panels are frozen.   Search engines like to crawl and index webpages or URLs, but what if your webpages/URLs have expired content and you do not want them to be indexed after so many days? Can you put an expiration in the URL and have mod_rewrite 301 redirect pages after a given expiration date? Or maybe a cron job to add a 301 redirect header to all expired pages?

• Delete System Files containing string

  I am trying to write a batch file that will examine a given directory, read each file for a given string "Example" and then delete any files that contain the string. The files are also System Files so I don't know what the exact extension is or if that matters (maybe you can just omit a file type filter and have it read all files?). Some of the files will be locked from reading as well so it needs to handle access denial errors if that occurs, not sure how batch files handle that.

For example, JSONObject: {stat: {123456: {x: 1, y: 2}, 123457: {z: 5, y: 2}}}} this should be like: stat[123456][x]=1&stat[123456][y]=2&stat[123457][z]=5&stat[123457][y]=2 of course with escaped symbols, and of course JSON object could be more complicated.. To some extent these seem to provide the same functionality. How do I know when it's more appropriate to use Assert or Verify? Maybe Assert is better for confirming state, and Verify is better for confirming behavior (Classical versus Mockist)?

This article states that 73% of websites they tested rely on JavaScript for important functionality, but it seems to me that the number must be larger. Have any surveys been done on this topic?   Has anyone tried using libmcrypt and visual c++? I was trying to use Crypto++ but it seems not fully compatible - and I need to decrypt data encrypted in PHP using linux libmcrypt. I found only cygwin version of libmcrypt but no .lib files or header. I'm using RIJNDAEL_128 - maybe there is easier way to decrypt it in Visual C++? Thanks
