  • Validationattribute only when value is changed?

    I want to write a custom ValidationAttribute that checks if the given value is unique or not. The problem is that in the edit screen, it is not guaranteed that the user actually changed the value, resulting in a false error. Is there a way to check in my attribute whether the value actually changed? Or can I trigger the attribute only when the value has changed? I'm getting the feeling this requirement maybe just doesn't belong in an attribute?

    In SQL Server, it is possible to test the result of a stored procedure to know if the result return rows or nothing ? Example : EXEC _sp_MySp 1, 2, 3 IF @@ROWCOUNT = 0 BEGIN PRINT('Empty') END ELSE BEGIN PRINT(@@ROWCOUNT) END But @@ROWCOUNT always return 0 so maybe is there another way of doing this ?

  • using Visual Studio 2010 and speech recognition on windows 7?

    I've never used Speech Recognition (SR) at all, but I'm hearing that the built-in SR capabilities of windows 7 is not half-bad. I'm thinking that it might be a real productivity booster with Visual Studio so I can decrease the use of the mouse (no Emacs comments please ;-). I don't envision not using the keyboard to type the actual code--but maybe that would work too? Does anyone have experience using SR with Visual Studio on Windows 7? If so, any tips on usage?

Now i want to add that to a fbml facebook application, but i'm haven't been able to load the jquery javascript and the jquery Validation plugin into the app, does anybody now how to do that? or maybe someone could suggest me a better way of doing validation inside a facebook application.     hey guys, i wonder how i can solve the following problem. on the root directory of my server lies a file calles upload.php i want to be able to add a "/upload" (without .php) to my URL and the browser should ask for a password (and maybe username if possible). I i enter the password (and username) correctly upload.php should be opened. Is this possible with htaccess?

    Hi, I need to build a component which would take a few XML documents in input and check the following kind of rules: XML1:/bookstore/book[price>35.00] != null and (XML2:/city/name = 'Montreal' or XML3://customer[@language] contains 'en') Basically my component should be able to: substitute the XML tokens with the corresponding XML document(before colon) apply xpath query on this XML document check the xpath output against expected result ("=", "!=", "contains") follow the basic syntax ("and", "or" and parentheses) tell if the rule is true or false Do you know any library which could help me? maybe JavaCC?     Has anyone tried using libmcrypt and visual c++? I was trying to use Crypto++ but it seems not fully compatible - and I need to decrypt data encrypted in PHP using linux libmcrypt. I found only cygwin version of libmcrypt but no .lib files or header. I'm using RIJNDAEL_128 - maybe there is easier way to decrypt it in Visual C++? Thanks

  • Delete System Files containing string

    I am trying to write a batch file that will examine a given directory, read each file for a given string "Example" and then delete any files that contain the string. The files are also System Files so I don't know what the exact extension is or if that matters (maybe you can just omit a file type filter and have it read all files?). Some of the files will be locked from reading as well so it needs to handle access denial errors if that occurs, not sure how batch files handle that.

This article states that 73% of websites they tested rely on JavaScript for important functionality, but it seems to me that the number must be larger. Have any surveys been done on this topic? Maybe a better way to phrase this question is - are there any sites that don't use JavaScript? EDIT: By 'use', I don't necessarily mean "rely on for important functionality" - that was just the statistic that one article gave.

    Maybe my question might seem a bit weird, but I have an activity in which, in one case , I have to move to another activity before it finishes loading the screen. My condition is in the onCreate method, which means when I encounter it, i get a "startActivity called from outside an activity context" error and the app just crashes... But then, is there an easy way like a flag for the intent to make it work without having the activity context resolved? thanks for any answer

    I'm new to unit testing, and I'm learning how to use NUnit and Moq. NUnit provides Assert syntax for testing conditions in my unit tests, while Moq provides some Verify functions. To some extent these seem to provide the same functionality. How do I know when it's more appropriate to use Assert or Verify? Maybe Assert is better for confirming state, and Verify is better for confirming behavior (Classical versus Mockist)?
