  • C language - Fscanf and sprint commands in unix environment

    - by yanag
    I am trying to read file with 30 rows and 5 columns with separator of "tab". Each time I get only part of the rows. In the windows environment it's working good. Any idea why in unix it is not working? while (fscanf(FFMapFile,"%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t",fnfMap[i].COS_ID,fnfMap[i].FF_First_Act,fnfMap[i].FF_Next_Act,fnfMap[i].Free_FF_allowed,fnfMap[i].FF_Change_Charge)!=EOF) { sprintf(s,"%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t",fnfMap[i].COS_ID,fnfMap[i].FF_First_Act,fnfMap[i].FF_Next_Act,fnfMap[i].Free_FF_allowed,fnfMap[i].FF_Change_Charge); error_log(s,ERROR); i++; }

  • How to transfer large files from desktop to server ( .NET)

    - by rahulchandran
I am writing a .NET 2.0 based desktop client that will send large files ( well largish under 2GB) to a server. Need to develop the server as well. Server can be on any technology It should be secure so an underlying SSL stream is needed What are my options. Any obvious caveats etc I should be aware of To my mind the simplest solution is to open a tcp\ip connection over SSL to the server and send n packets each of size M bytes and then have the server append the chunks to the file and finally send an EOF packet as well IS this horrible. Will the perf suck on the server with all these disk writes What are any other clever options. I am limited to .NET 2.0 on the client if I did move to a WCF client will it buy be something magical and cool for this scenario Thanks

  • Handling user input in C

    - by Stuart
In C, I am writing a program which is taking in user input than comparing it to see which output it should use. I am finding it problomatic and was wondering if someone could give me a hand. So far I have: while(cmd[0] != EOF){ fgets(cmd, sizeof(cmd), stdin); /** Takes in user input and stores it in cmd **/ if(cmd[0] == '\n') printf("%s> ", cwd); else if(strcmp(cmd, "ls") == 0) printf("I will list everything"); } Any ideas? Basically it is just ignoring any user input when there is some. P.S. The variable cwd is just a string.

  • Balanced Search Tree Query, Asymtotic Analysis..

    - by AGeek
Hi, The situation is as follows:- We have n number and we have print them in sorted order. We have access to balanced dictionary data structure, which supports the operations serach, insert, delete, minimum, maximum each in O(log n) time. We want to retrieve the numbers in sorted order in O(n log n) time using only the insert and in-order traversal. The answer to this is:- Sort() initialize(t) while(not EOF) read(x) insert(x,t); Traverse(t); Now the query is if we read the elements in time "n" and then traverse the elements in "log n"(in-order traversal) time,, then the total time for this algorithm (n+logn)time, according to me.. Please explain the follow up of this algorithm for the time calculation.. How it will sort the list in O(nlogn) time?? Thanks.

  • loading Data in VBA from a text file

    - by omegayen
I am not very familiar with VBA but need to use it for a new software program I am using (not Microsoft related) I have a text file that has columns of data I would like to read into VBA. Specifically the text file has 4 entries per row. Thus I would like to load in the column vectors (N by 1). The text file is separated by a space between each entry. So for example I want to load in column one and save it as array A, then column two and save as array B, then column three and save as array C, and then column four and save as array D. This code snippet found below from http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=482 is something I found that can load in text to an array, but I need to adapt it to be able to save the columns as different arrays as specified above... Open "MyFile.txt" For Input As #1 ReDim Txt$(0) Do While Not EOF(1) ReDim Preserve Txt$(UBound(Txt$) + 1) Input #1, Txt$(UBound(Txt$)) Loop Close #1

  • How can I "interconnect" two sockets in Linux?

    - by Vi
There are two connected sockets. How can I interconnect them? Data appeared on the one socket should be written to the other. EOF/FIN should propogate well. If one is half-closed, the other should also be half-closed. int client = get_connected_client_socket(); int proxy = get_connected_proxy_socket(); negotiate_with_proxy(proxy); iterconnect(client, proxy); // Now forgot about both client and proxy. // System should handle IO/shutdown/close. // Ideally even without any support of the user-space process. Can Linux do it? Can it be done by tricking connection tracking to change tracking status of existing connection? @related http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2673975/determine-how-much-can-i-write-into-a-filehandle-copying-data-from-one-fh-to-the

  • C++ detecting end of file

    - by xbonez
I have a C++ program that is reading in info from a file, that stores info seperated by "$$$$". An example of how the file looks is: abc bcd $$$$ def $$$$ qwe gfh $$$$ How can I detect the file has ended, without using the eof() function? I have it set like this, getline(sin, temp) if (temp=="$$$$") { } After reading the last set of four dollars, how can I check the next line to ensure another set of data isn't beginning, and that the file has ended? If the file has indeed ended, I plan on using a boolean flag to terminate the while loop.

  • Force blocking read after EAGAIN?

    - by Daniel Trebbien
I have a file descriptor that is open for reading which may be non-blocking. What I need to do is simply read all data until reaching EOF and write that data to a writable file descriptor. As the process that performs this copying is not "aware" of anything that is going on around it, I don't think that I can do something useful while waiting for data, and I don't want to use a while loop (while errno is not EAGAIN) because I think that it would be wasteful. Is there a way to block or otherwise suspend execution of the copying process until data becomes available?

I had stored procedure MySPOld in Sybase db. I created new sp MySP. This new sp returns data while executed from Sybase Sql Advantage. But not returning the data when called from VBA - Excel 2003 (EOF property of recordset is True). Here is my code.. Dim dbCon As ADODB.Connection Dim rstTemp As New ADODB.Recordset Dim query As String query = "exec MySP '01/01/2010', '01/14/2010'" dbCon.Open connectionString, "username" "password" dbCon.CommandTimeout = 300 rstTemp.Open query, dbCon, adOpenForwardOnly The code was working well with old sp. • copying the contents of an image file

    - by Ganesh
I am designing an image decoder and as a first step I tried to just copy the using c. i.e open the file, and write its contents to a new file. Below is the code that I used. while((c=getc(fp))!=EOF) fprintf(fp1,"%c",c); where fp is the source file and fp1 is the destination file. The program executes without any error, but the image file(".bmp") is not properly copied. I have observed that the size of the copied file is less and only 20% of the image is visible, all else is black. When I tried with simple text files, the copy was complete. Do you know what the problem is?

Hi, in VC++ environment Im using (string) getline function to read separate lines in opened file. Problem is that getline takes character 1Ah as end of file and if it is present on the line, whole reading ends prematurely. Is there any solution for this? Code snippet: fstream LogFile (Source,fstream::in); string Line while (getline(LogFile,Line)) { .... } File contents: line1text1asdf line2text2asd //EOF for getline here line3asdas // this line will never be read by getline Thank you for any info. • [C] Read line from file without knowing the line length.

    - by ryyst
Hi, I want to read in a file line by line, without knowing the line length before. Here's what I got so far: int ch = getc(file); int length = 0; char buffer[4095]; while (ch != '\n' && ch != EOF) { ch = getc(file); buffer[length] = ch; length++; } printf("Line length: %d characters.", length); I can now figure out the line length, but only for lines that are shorter than 4095 characters. Is there a better way to do this (I already used fgets() but got told it wasn't the best way)? --Ry

  • SQL SELECT INSERTed data from Table

    - by Noam Smadja
its in ASP Classic. MS-Access DB. i do: INSERT INTO Orders (userId) VALUES (123)" what i want to retrieve is orderNumber from that row. its an auto-increment number. so i did: SELECT orderNumber FROM Orders WHERE userId=123 but since it is on the same page, the SELECT returns: Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record. i've seen somewhere RETURNING orderNumber as variable but it was for oracle and i dont know how to implement it into my asp :( set addOrder = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command") addOrder.ActiveConnection = MM_KerenDB_STRING addOrder.CommandText = "INSERT INTO Orders (userId) VALUES ("&userId&")" addOrder.CommandType = 1 addOrder.CommandTimeout = 0 addOrder.Prepared = true addOrder.Execute() Dim getOrderNumber Set getOrderNumber = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") getOrderNumber.ActiveConnection = MM_KerenDB_STRING getOrderNumber.Source = "SELECT orderNumber FROM Orders WHERE userId=" & userId getOrderNumber.CursorType = 0 getOrderNumber.CursorLocation = 2 getOrderNumber.LockType = 1 getOrderNumber.Open() session("orderNumber") = getOrderNumber.Fields.Item("orderNumber").value

  • Boost ASIO read X bytes synchroniously into a vector

    - by xeross
Hey, I've been attempting to write a client/server app with boost now, so far it sends and receives but I can't seem to just read X bytes into a vector. If I use the following code vector<uint8_t> buf; for (;;) { buf.resize(4); boost::system::error_code error; size_t len = socket.read_some(boost::asio::buffer(buf), error); if (error == boost::asio::error::eof) break; // Connection closed cleanly by peer. else if (error) throw boost::system::system_error(error); // Some other error. } And the packet is bigger then 4 bytes then it seems it keeps writing into those 4 bytes until the entire packet has been received, however I want it to fetch 4 bytes, then allow me to parse them, and then get the rest of the packet. Can anyone provide me with a working example, or at least a pointer on how to make it work properly ? Regards, Xeross

  • How do I find the ruby interpreter?

    - by The Doctor What
Inside a ruby script, how do I get the path to the ruby interpreter? Example script: #!/path/to/ruby puts `#{RUBY_INTERPRETER_PATH} -e "puts 'hi'"` #EOF Where RUBY_INTERPRETER_PATH is a mythical way of finding /path/to/ruby. This is just an example, though. I realize in this case that I could just copy /path/to/ruby into the script, but I don't want to do that. I want this to work "correctly" regardless of what the #! line says. Even if running under windows. Ciao!

  • antlr: How to rewrite only specific

    - by user1293945
I am sure antlr can solve my problem, but can't figure out how to implement it, even high level. I rapidly got caught into syntax problems of antlr itself. My grammar is quite simple and made of following tokens and rules. Don't really need to go in their details here. The evaluator resolves to expressions, which finally resolve to IDENT: evaluator : expression EOF! ; ... ... term : PARTICIPANT_TYPE(IDENT | '('! expression ')'! | max | min | if_ | NUMBER)+ ; Now, I would like to analyse and rewrite the 'term', so that IDENT tokens (and them only) get re-written with the PARTICIPANT_TYPE. All the others should simply remain the same.
