  • ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targeting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

    - by Chris
During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targeting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. However, when I target x64 (debug or release), the call generally takes over 40s to complete. Since this is occurring during application startup, the result is fairly unpleasant as it will appear to the user that the application is not launching. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Intel Core i7 Q 720). Our application is a native Windows application written in C++. My compiler options (CCOPTS) and linker options (LINKOPTS) are as follows: CCOPTS = "/nologo /Gz /W3 /EHs /c /DWIN32 /D_MBCS /Ob1 /vmg /vmv /Zi /MD /DNDEBUG /DDV_BUILD_DLL /DIV_BUILD_DLL /DDVASSERT_EXCEPTION /Zc:wchar_t-" LINKOPTS = "/manifest:no /nologo /machine:X64 kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib ole32.lib oleaut32.lib uuid.lib odbc32.lib odbccp32.lib /DEBUG /subsystem:windows /DLL" Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

  • Monodevelop SVN 1.7 support

    - by Gustavo Rubio
I'm trying to checkout an SVN repo and it does get checked out, however the solution is not opened by default. I then tried to simply open an already checked out folder and I do not get versioning support. I tried this in both Windows and Linux with no success with MonoDevelop 3.0.4 and 3.0.5 My guess is that since the .sln file is in the path /trunk/code/project/project.sln and the new 1.7 format keeps only one ".svn" folder at the top of the checked out folder (e.g. /home/gustavo/ProjectSrc/ ) hence MD not "finding" the versioned code. Anybody has had success using SVN 1.7 and MonoDevelop?

  • How to make automake less ugly?

    - by Brendan Long
I recently learned how to use automake, and I'm somewhat annoyed that my compile commands went from a bunch of: g++ -O2 -Wall -c fileName.cpp To a bunch of: depbase=`echo src/Unit.o | sed 's|[^/]*$|.deps/&|;s|\.o$||'`;\ g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I./src -g -O2 -MT src/Unit.o -MD -MP -MF $depbase.Tpo -c -o src/Unit.o src/Unit.cpp &&\ mv -f $depbase.Tpo $depbase.Po Is there any way to clean this up? I can usually easily pick out warning messages, but now the wall of text to read though is 3x bigger and much weirder. I know what my flags are, so making it just says "Compiling xxx.cpp" for each file would be perfect.

  • ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small with Oracle aggregate f

    - by Tunde
Good day gurus, I have a script that populates tables on a regular basis that crashed and gave the above error. The strange thing is that it has been running for close to 3 months on the production system with no problems and suddenly crashed last week. There has not been any changes on the tables as far as I know. Has anyone encountered something like this before? I believe it has something to do with the aggregate functions I'm implementing in it; but it worked initially. please; kindly find attached the part of the script I've developed into a procedure that I reckon gives the error. CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE V1 IS --DECLARE v_a VARCHAR2(4000); v_b VARCHAR2(4000); v_c VARCHAR2(4000); v_d VARCHAR2(4000); v_e VARCHAR2(4000); v_f VARCHAR2(4000); v_g VARCHAR2(4000); v_h VARCHAR2(4000); v_i VARCHAR2(4000); v_j VARCHAR2(4000); v_k VARCHAR2(4000); v_l VARCHAR2(4000); v_m VARCHAR2(4000); v_n NUMBER(10); v_o VARCHAR2(4000); -- -- Procedure that populates DEMO table BEGIN -- Delete all from the DEMO table DELETE FROM DEMO; -- Populate fields in DEMO from DEMOV1 INSERT INTO DEMO(ID, D_ID, CTR_ID, C_ID, DT_NAM, TP, BYR, ENY, ONG, SUMM, DTW, REV, LD, MD, STAT, CRD) SELECT ID, D_ID, CTR_ID, C_ID, DT_NAM, TP, TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(BYR,'YYYY')), TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(NVL(ENY,SYSDATE),'YYYY')), CASE WHEN ENY IS NULL THEN 'Y' ELSE 'N' END, SUMMARY, DTW, REV, LD, MD, '1', SYSDATE FROM DEMOV1; -- LOOP THROUGH DEMO TABLE FOR j IN (SELECT ID, CTR_ID, C_ID FROM DEMO) LOOP Select semic_concat(TXTDESC) INTO v_a From GEOT WHERE ID = j.ID; SELECT COUNT(*) INTO v_n FROM MERP M, PROJ P WHERE M.MID = P.COD AND ID = j.ID AND PROAC IS NULL; IF (v_n > 0) THEN Select semic_concat(PRO) INTO v_b FROM MERP M, PROJ P WHERE M.MID = P.COD AND ID = j.ID; ELSE Select semic_concat(PRO || '(' || PROAC || ')' ) INTO v_b FROM MERP M, PROJ P WHERE M.MID = P.COD AND ID = j.ID; END IF; Select semic_concat(VOCNAME('P02',COD)) INTO v_c From PAR WHERE ID = j.ID; Select semic_concat(VOCNAME('L05',COD)) INTO v_d From INST WHERE ID = j.ID; Select semic_concat(NVL(AUTHOR,'Anon') ||' ('||to_char(PUB,'YYYY')||') '||TITLE||', '||EDT) INTO v_e From REFE WHERE ID = j.ID; Select semic_concat(NAM) INTO v_f FROM EDM E, EDO EO WHERE E.EDMID = EO.EDOID AND ID = j.ID; Select semic_concat(VOCNAME('L08', COD)) INTO v_g FROM AVA WHERE ID = j.ID; SELECT or_concat(NAM) INTO v_o FROM CON WHERE ID = j.ID AND NAM = 'Unknown'; IF (v_o = 'Unknown') THEN Select or_concat(JOBTITLE || ' (' || EMAIL || ')') INTO v_h FROM CON WHERE ID = j.ID; ELSE Select or_concat(NAM || ' (' || EMAIL || ')') INTO v_h FROM CON WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_i FROM PAR WHERE ID = j.ID; IF (v_i = ',') THEN v_i := null; ELSE Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_i FROM PAR WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_j FROM INST WHERE ID = j.ID; IF (v_j = ',') THEN v_j := null; ELSE Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_j FROM INST WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_k FROM SAR WHERE ID = j.ID; IF (v_k = ',') THEN v_k := null; ELSE Select commaencap_concat(COD) INTO v_k FROM SAR WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; Select commaencap_concat(CONID) INTO v_l FROM CON WHERE ID = j.ID; IF (v_l = ',') THEN v_l := null; ELSE Select commaencap_concat(CONID) INTO v_l FROM CON WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; Select commaencap_concat(PROID) INTO v_m FROM PRO WHERE ID = j.ID; IF (v_m = ',') THEN v_m := null; ELSE Select commaencap_concat(PROID) INTO v_m FROM PRO WHERE ID = j.ID; END IF; -- UPDATE DEMO TABLE UPDATE DEMO SET GEOC = v_a, PRO = v_b, PAR = v_c, INS = v_d, REFER = v_e, ORGR = v_f, AVAY = v_g, CON = v_h, DTH = v_i, INST = v_j, SA = v_k, CC = v_l, EDPR = v_m, CTR = (SELECT NAM FROM EDM WHERE EDMID = j.CTR_ID), COLL = (SELECT NAM FROM EDM WHERE EDMID = j.C_ID) WHERE ID = j.ID; END LOOP; END V1; / The aggregate functions, commaencap_concat (encapsulates with a comma), or_concat (concats with an or) and semic_concat(concats with a semi-colon). the remaining tables used are all linked to the main table DEMO. I have checked the column sizes and there seems to be no problem. I tried executing the SELECT statements alone and they give the same error without populating the tables. Any clues? Many thanks for your anticipated support.

  • How to hide Thinking at Work so that the Non-Programmers don't suspect Slacking?

    - by stesch
Better programmers than me can write in essays about walking around with a coffee mug and call it programming. And it's perfectly accepted at a place that knows the business. Or see what Gregory House (TV show "House M.D.") does when he is thinking. But what about the other places where you are the only programmer? If you don't stare at boring stuff on the monitor for 8 hours straight, co-workers suspect you being a slacker. Yes, not the managers who see the output. Only the co-workers who see the process and can't relate to this kind of work. Yesterday I had to explain to a trainee of some other profession that software development is like flying. The explanation from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I don't think she bought it.

  • Transportation Web App - utilizing google or bing map api

    - by BillS
I am working on a transportation web app and I am having a bit of a problem. First, I want to be able to define a shipping corridor, say like I-95 between Baltimore MD and Richmond VA. And store what parameters I need to define this route. Users will then use a web interface and can select various routes, in this case, I-95. Vendors will be posting constantly changing pickup locations in the application database which have a shelf life of about 2 days. Some of these locations maybe along this route. I am storing the LAT and LONG for the specific location right now. If any of these points ARE along or within 2 mile of the route (just off the highway basically - the ideal check would based on an actual highway exit but at this point anything would work), I want them to show up in my search results. Any ideas or suggestions?

  • How to verify a signature using M2Crypto 0.16

    - by Daniel Mccain
After some goggling I found some usual answers for this question, like: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/595114/how-to-load-an-rsa-key-from-a-pem-file-and-use-it-in-python-crypto some code: x509 = X509.load_cert_string(certificate) pubkey = x509.get_pubkey() pubkey.reset_context(md=sha1) pubkey.verify_init() pubkey.verify_update(content) decoded_signature = signature.decode('base64') if pubkey.verify_final(decoded_signature)==0: print 'error' sys.exit(1) and the code presented above works fine in M2Crypto 0.20. But I need to do exactly the same think using the M2Crypto 0.16 (the official package in RHEL5), and I have problems using the pubkey.verify_final method because in this particular version the signature parameter doesn't exist. So how can I do it? using the M2Crypto 0.16 Thanks.

  • Processing a property in linq to sql

    - by Mostafa
    Hi It's my first LINQ TO SQL Project , So definitely my question could be naive . Till now I used to create new property in Business Object beside of every DateTime Property , That's because i need to do some processing in my DateTime property and show it in special string format for binding to UI Controls .Like : private DateTime _insertDate; /// /// I have "InertDate" field in my Table on Database /// public DateTime InsertDate { get { return _insertDate; } set { _insertDate = value; } } // Because i need to do some processing I create a readonly string property that pass InsertDate to Utility method and return special string Date public string PInsertDate { get { return Utility.ToSpecialDate(_insertDate); } } My question is I don't know how to do it in LINQ . I did like follow but i get run time error. ToosDataContext db = new ToosDataContext(); var newslist = from p in db.News select new {p.NewsId,p.Title,tarikh =MD.Utility.ToSpecialDate( p.ReleaseDate)}; GridView1.DataSource = newslist; GridView1.DataBind();

  • MonoDevelop seems to hang (not unresponsive) when building csprojs

    - by Michael Shimmins
Building a solution from Visual Studio in mono develop seems to have some issues. I'm hoping someone else has experienced this and has some suggestions. The actual dcms process goes pretty quickly, but in between projects it hangs after printing: Building: XXX.YYY.ZZZ (Debug) After a few minutes (been 10 so far on this current run), it jumps to: Performing main compilation... /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/2.10.1/bin/dmcs /noconfig "/... Build complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings Building: XXX.YYY.ZZZ (Debug) Then hangs again for another few minutes. This is a sln file with 29 csproj projects in it that was originally created in Visual Studio 2010. I'm wondering if there is a better way to set this up - potentially a native MD file format?

  • Is MD5 really that bad?

    - by Col. Shrapnel
Everyone says that MD5 is "broken". Though I have never seen a code that can show it's weakness. So, I hope someone of local experts can prove it with simple test. I have an MD5 hash c1e877411f5cb44d10ece283a37e1668 And a simple code to produce it $salt="#bh35^&Res%"; $pass="***"; echo $hash=md5($salt.$pass); So, the question is: 1. Is MD% really that bad? 2. If so, what's the pass behind the asterisks?

  • how to link static library into dynamic library in gcc

  • How to access website CMS with only access to database

    - by user1741615
I have a website that uses an "in-house" cms and I don't know the login details. The platform itself doesn't have the "reset your password" functionality. I do have access to ftp and phmyadmin and I found the SQL table containing the user details, but of course the password is MD5 encryption. I tried manually creating a user in php my admin and filling in a password encrypted in MD5 (used a md service online for that), but it still doesn't work. Does anybody know other tricks I can use? Thanks.

  • How Oracle Data Integration Customers Differentiate Their Business in Competitive Markets

    - by Irem Radzik
    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 With data being a central force in driving innovation and competing effectively, data integration has become a key IT approach to remove silos and ensure working with consistent and trusted data. Especially with the release of 12c version, Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle GoldenGate offer easy-to-use and high-performance solutions that help companies with their critical data initiatives, including big data analytics, moving to cloud architectures, modernizing and connecting transactional systems and more. In a recent press release we announced the great momentum and analyst recognition Oracle Data Integration products have achieved in the data integration and replication market. In this press release we described some of the key new features of Oracle Data Integrator 12c and Oracle GoldenGate 12c. In addition, a few from our 4500+ customers explained how Oracle’s data integration platform helped them achieve their business goals. In this blog post I would like to go over what these customers shared about their experience. Land O’Lakes is one of America’s premier member-owned cooperatives, and offers an extensive line of agricultural supplies, as well as production and business services. Rich Bellefeuille, manager, ETL & data warehouse for Land O’Lakes told us how GoldenGate helped them modernize their critical ERP system without impacting service and how they are moving to new projects with Oracle Data Integrator 12c: “With Oracle GoldenGate 11g, we've been able to migrate our enterprise-wide implementation of Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, ERP system, to a new database and application server platform with minimal downtime to our business. Using Oracle GoldenGate 11g we reduced database migration time from nearly 30 hours to less than 30 minutes. Given our quick success, we are considering expansion of our Oracle GoldenGate 12c footprint. We are also in the midst of deploying a solution leveraging Oracle Data Integrator 12c to manage our pricing data to handle orders more effectively and provide a better relationship with our clients. We feel we are gaining higher productivity and flexibility with Oracle's data integration products." ICON, a global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, highlighted the competitive advantage that a solid data integration foundation brings. Diarmaid O’Reilly, enterprise data warehouse manager, ICON plc said “Oracle Data Integrator enables us to align clinical trials intelligence with the information needs of our sponsors. It helps differentiate ICON’s services in an increasingly competitive drug-development industry."  You can find more info on ICON's implementation here. A popular use case for Oracle GoldenGate’s real-time data integration is offloading operational reporting from critical transaction processing systems. SolarWorld, one of the world’s largest solar-technology producers and the largest U.S. solar panel manufacturer, implemented Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration of manufacturing data for fast analysis. Russ Toyama, U.S. senior database administrator for SolarWorld told us real-time data helps their operations and GoldenGate’s solution supports high performance of their manufacturing systems: “We use Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data integration into our decision support system, which performs real-time analysis for manufacturing operations to continuously improve product quality, yield and efficiency. With reliable and low-impact data movement capabilities, Oracle GoldenGate also helps ensure that our critical manufacturing systems are stable and operate with high performance."  You can watch the full interview with SolarWorld's Russ Toyama here. Ufone is another good example of that. The leading mobile communications service provider of Pakistan has improved customer service using timely customer data in its data warehouse. Atif Aslam, head of management information systems for Ufone says: “Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle GoldenGate help us integrate information from various systems and provide up-to-date and real-time CRM data updates hourly, rather than daily. The applications have simplified data warehouse operations and allowed business users to make faster and better informed decisions to protect revenue in the fast-moving Pakistani telecommunications market.” You can read more about Ufone's use case here. In our Oracle Data Integration 12c launch webcast back in November we also heard from BT’s CTO Surren Parthab about their use of GoldenGate for moving to private cloud architecture. Surren also shared his perspectives on Oracle Data Integrator 12c and Oracle GoldenGate 12c releases. You can watch the video here. These are only a few examples of leading companies that have made data integration and real-time data access a key part of their data governance and IT modernization initiatives. They have seen real improvements in how their businesses operate and differentiate in today’s competitive markets. You can read about other customer examples in our Ebook: The Path to the Future and access resources including white papers, data sheets, podcasts and more via our Oracle Data Integration resource kit. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}

  • Ubuntu Preseed set Norwegian Keyboard?

    - by Vangelis Tasoulas
It's been a couple of days now that I am trying to make a fully automated unattended installation. I managed to make it work with Ubuntu/Cobbler and a preseed file, but I cannot set the correct keyboard layout which is Norwegian in this case. I am doing the tests on a virtual machine and when I am going with a normal manual installation (no preseed) everything is working fine. When I am using the preseed file, I always end up with an "English (US)" keyboard no matter the many different options I have tried. I can change it manually with the "dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration" command, but that's not the case. It should be handled automatically using the preseed file. I am using DEBCONF_DEBUG=5 when the grub is loading, and as I see in "/var/log/installer/syslog" file after the installation has finished, the preseeding commands are accepted. • Do I have to worry about "error: superfluous RAID member"?

    - by 0xC0000022L

  • Mixed Solaris 10 and 11 versions in logical domains on the same server

    - by jsavit
One question that comes up frequently is whether you can mix Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 in different logical domains under Oracle VM Server for SPARC. The answer is yes depending only on the system software requirements for the underlying hardware platform. Different versions of Solaris 10 and 11 can exist side-by-side on the same server and can act as control, service, I/O or guest domains subject only to the minimum software levels documented in the System Requirements section of the Oracle VM Server for SPARC Release Notes. Here's an example just taken from a running system. First, here's the control domain, which is running Solaris 10. I've highlighted a guest running Solaris 11. # uname -a SunOS atl-sewr-24 5.10 Generic_147440-01 sun4v sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5220 # ldm -V Logical Domains Manager (v 2.1) Hypervisor control protocol v 1.7 Using Hypervisor MD v 1.3 System PROM: Hypervisor v. 1.10.0 @(#)Hypervisor 1.10.0 2011/04/27 16:19\015 # ldm list NAME STATE FLAGS CONS VCPU MEMORY UTIL UPTIME primary active -n-cv- SP 16 4G 1.6% 120d 17h atl-sewr-pool-148 active -n---- 5001 8 2G 0.1% 119d 21h atl-sewr-pool-152 active -n---- 5000 8 4G 0.2% 112d 19h atl-sewr-pool-154 active -n---- 5002 8 2G 0.1% 120d 15h atl-sewr-pool-155 active -n---- 5003 16 2G 0.0% 26d 14h 30m This system is running Oracle VM Server 2.1 with a Solaris 10 control domain. Hmm, I should update this machine to 2.2 when I get a few free moments. Upgrading is very straightforward. Here's a display logging into the highlighted guest: Last login: Mon May 21 10:18:16 2012 from dhcp-adc-twvpn- Oracle Corporation SunOS 5.11 11.0 November 2011 sewr@atl-sewr-pool-152:~$ uname -a SunOS atl-sewr-pool-152 5.11 11.0 sun4v sparc SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5220 sewr@atl-sewr-pool-152:~$ cat /etc/release Oracle Solaris 11 11/11 SPARC Copyright (c) 1983, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. Assembled 18 October 2011 sewr@atl-sewr-pool-152:~$ sudo virtinfo -ct Password: Domain role: LDoms guest Control domain: atl-sewr-24 sewr@atl-sewr-pool-152:~$ That's running the GA version of Solaris 11, so I probably should update that some time too. Note the use of the virtinfo -ct command that lets the guest get information about the hosting environment. Summary You can mix and match versions of Solaris in logical domains. All the different combinations work: Solaris 10 and/or Solaris 11 control and service domains with Solaris 10 and/or Solaris 11 guests. Mixing different guest OS levels on the same server is one of the traditional reasons for using virtual machines in the first place since virtual machines were invented some 40 years ago, used to run production and test systems in parallel while upgrading OS levels. This can easily be done with Oracle VM Server for SPARC (Logical Domains).
