• Second Day of Data Integration Track at OpenWorld 2012

On this panel this year we had Michael Wells from Raymond James, Joy Mathew and Venki Govindarajan from Comcast, and Serkan Karatas from Turk Telekom. Our panelists have a great mix of experiences and all are passionate about using Oracle Data Integration products to solve very complex use cases. Each panelist was given a ten minute to overview their use of our product, followed by a barrage of questions from the audience. Michael Wells spoke about using Oracle GoldenGate for heterogeneous real time replication from HP (Tandem) NonStop to SQL Server and emphasized the need for using standard naming conventions for when customers configure GoldenGate, as the practices is immensely helpful when debugging a problem. Joy Mathew and Venkat Govindarajan from Comcast described how they have used GoldenGate for over a decade and their experiences of using the product for replicating data from HP nonstop to Terdata. Serkan Karatas from Turk Telekom dove into using Oracle GoldenGate and the value of archiving data in extremely large databases, which in Turk Telekoms case resulted in a 1 month ROI for the entire project. • How to open a MIB file in tkmib?

  I've tried to open several MIB files in tkmib without success. • Hosting 3 domains on 3 PC (1 domain per PC) with only 1 static IP address

  Hey all i am trying to figure this out here. I have 3 PC's that are hooked into my router which i have a static IP for. I am currently hosting a web site (ex: blah1.com) on the 1st PC but have yet to connect PC 2 and 3 up to the network. That one PC thats online is using port 77. I direct all 80 traffic to port 77 using that servers IP address (192.168.x.xxx) My question is, how can i direct traffic for my other 2 domains (ex: blah2.com and blah3.com) to the 2 individual PC's (ip's) as i already am doing with the 1st PC if i can only use one port 80 to direct taffic to the website in?

• Does Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 (r2) [USB ID 2040:6502] work with ubuntu 12.04 LTS?

  I have this DVB+Analog usb tv tuner Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 (r2) [USB ID 2040:6502]. This used to work under ubuntu 10.04 LTS. But in 12.04 there seems to be a problem. I have linux-firmware-nonfree and ivtv-utils installed. I am running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64 bit with all updates installed and the default unity environment. When I run mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video1:input=1:norm=PAL I get a solid green screen and no picture. Here input 1 is the composite input of the card. • C# 4.0 Optional/Named Parameters Beginner&rsquo;s Tutorial

  One of the interesting features of C# 4.0 is for both named and optional arguments.  They are often very useful together, but are quite actually two different things.  Optional arguments gives us the ability to omit arguments to method invocations. Named arguments allows us to specify the arguments by name instead of by position.  Code using the named parameters are often more readable than code relying on argument position.  These features were long overdue, especially in regards to COM interop. Below, I have included some examples to help you understand them more in depth. Please remember to target the .NET 4 Framework when trying these samples. • osx 10.6 dhcp client-id option

  Trying to join a osx machine on a dhcp network which forces certain client IDs. Even if I was to modify the client-id via the network properties, the DHCP server is not accepting this request, since Windows and Apple send this via different options You can set the ClassID in the Network Control Panel in the DHCP Client ID box. The trick lies in setting up your DHCP server to recognize it. Windows XP sends the DHCP class ID via DHCP option 77, and OS X sends it via option 61. You'll have to set your DHCP server to check for option 61, +with an offset of 1 and a length of 9+. That's the tricky bit. So, without modifying the DHCP server... (which does not belong to me), is there anything that can be done on OSX to modify the client-id option to be 77?

• Does Apache ever give incorrect "out of threads" errors?

  Lately our Apache web server has been giving us this error multiple times per day: [Tue Apr 06 01:07:10 2010] [error] Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting We raised our ThreadsPerChild setting from 50 to 100, but we still get the error. Our access logs indicate that these errors never even happen at periods of high load. For example, here's an excerpt from our access log (ip addresses and some urls are edited for privacy). Since the Apache server runs as a separate process and the database doesn't record any problems when this error occurs, I'm doubtful that Oracle is the problem. Unfortunately, the errors are freaking out our sysadmins, who are inclined to blame any and all problems which occur with the server on this error. Is this a known bug in Apache that I simply haven't been able to find any reference to through Google?

• Tomcat/Hibernate Problem "SEVERE: Error listenerStart"

  I downloaded working example of hibernate (with maven) and installed it on my tomcat, it worked. Then I created a new web project in MyEclipse, added hibernate support and moved all source files (no jar) to this new project and fixed package/paths wherever was necessary. My servlets are responding correctly but when I add "Listener" in web.xml, tomcat returns error "Error ListenerStart" on startup and my application doesn't start. I've carefully checked all packages, paths and classes, they look good.   I posted this question and have a freshly minted code signing cert from Thawte. I followed the instructions (or so I thought) and the code signing claims to be done right, however when I try to verify the tool shows an error. I have no idea what it means and no idea how to fix this. Any comments would be appreciated.
