How to do a sample rate conversion in Windows (and OSX)

I am about to write an audio file converter for my side job at the university. As part of this I would need sample rate conversion. However, my professor said that it would be pretty hard to write a sample rate converter that was both of good quality and fast. On my research on the subject, I found some functions in the OSX CoreAudio-framework, that could do a sample rate conversion (AudioConverter.h). After all, an OS has to have some facilities to do that for its own audio stack. Do you know a similar method for C/C++ and Windows, that are either part of the OS or open source? I am pretty sure that this function exists within DirectX Audio (XAudio2?), but I seem to be unable to find a reference to it in the MSDN library.

Is it possible to scan Entities in jar files using JPA and hibernate

I have the following situation : Project A - Contains a few entities and is independent Project B - Contains a few entities and is independent Project C - Contains few entities and is dependent on Project A & Project B. I am using Maven to manage dependencies and builds. When I try to test Project A and project B it goes through fine. Each of them has a persistence.xml and a separate persistent context. When I run Project C , It does map any of the entities. I have tried to use the auto-detect, specified the jar file attribute ... but nothing seems to work. It gives me a Mapping Exception saying unknown entity and wont persist or read the Entities from Projects A or B. I have posted the 3 persistence.xml files here. Also, I tried using the class attribute and using the same persistent context but it just wont find the files. Any help is really appreciated. SQL 2008 Encryption Scan

We recently upgraded a database server from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 64 bit. CPU utilization is oftentimes running at 100% on all four processors now (this never happended on the SQL 2005 server). When I run sp_lock I see a number of processes waiting on a resource called [ENCRYPTION_SCAN]. I am not using any SQL 2008 encryption features. Does anyone know why I would have tasks waiting on this resource? It appears that whenever I have four processes waiting on this resource, CPU hits 100% on all four processors.

Given a string such as: "new/path - path/path/03 - filename.ext", how can I use NSScanner (or any other approach) to return the substring from the last "/" to the end of the string, i.e., "03 - filename.ext"? msbuild conversion tool to VS2010

I got vcproj file from QMake (qmake -tp vc win32.pro), and when I run it with msbuild (msbuild for VS 2010), I get the following error. MSBUILD : error MSB4192: The project file ".\win32.vcproj" is in the ".vcproj" or ".dsp" file format , which MSBuild cannot build directly. Please convert the project by opening it in the Visual Studio IDE or running the conversion tool, or, for ".vcproj", use MSBuild to build the solution file conta ining the project instead. I'd like to run the conversion tool for getting VS2010 project file. What's the tool for it?

Is this going to be possible using Java, or ActiveX, or some other strategy that I haven't looked at yet? C++ conversion operator between types in other libraries

For convenience, I'd like to be able to cast between two types defined in other libraries. (Specifically, QString from the Qt library and UnicodeString from the ICU library.) Right now, I have created utility functions in a project namespace: namespace MyProject { const icu_44::UnicodeString ToUnicodeString(const QString& value); const QString ToQString(const icu_44::UnicodeString& value); } That's all well and good, but I'm wondering if there's a more elegant way. Ideally, I'd like to be able to convert between them using a cast operator. I do, however, want to retain the explicit nature of the conversion. An implicit conversion should not be possible. Is there a more elegant way to achieve this without modifying the source code of the libraries? Some operator overload syntax, perhaps?

Parsing CSV: how can NSScanner recognize empty field (i.e. ,,)?

I have read many contributions and I am managing it but I have a problem when my NSScanner intercepts an empty field: "Field_A, Field_B,, Field_D". I guess it is because it ignores empty space by default, or in this case no space at all. Mysterious different conversion to string[] of seemingly same input data

During investigation of some problem I found that the reason was unexpected different conversion to string[] of seemingly same input data. Namely, in the code below two commands both return the same two items File1.txt and File2.txt. But conversion to string[] gives different results, see the comments. Any ideas why is it? This might be a bug. If anybody also thinks so, I’ll submit it. Reformating xml document

I have an xml document in the format below: <key>value</key> <key>value</key> <key>value</key> But need to convert it to the following: <tag k='key' v='value' /> <tag k='key' v='value' /> <tag k='key' v='value' /> The original xml file is roughly 20,000 lines long, so I'm keen to automate as much as possible! I need to do 3 things: How can I reduce the screen resolution (height and width) so that it can fit into a smaller video size on my website? How can I pull out like every third frame so that the file size is not so large, yet not mess up the sound? Not all Windows IE users can view OGV files. I want to do this on an Ubuntu machine, using only command-line tools and I'm willing to install packages from main, restricted, universe and multiverse. Ideally I'd like to be able to do ... for VIDEO_FILE in *; do some_conversion_program $VIDEO_FILE $VIDEO_FILE.mp4 done ... and have all my video files in .mp4 format with container MPEG-4 and codec H.264. How would you tackle this problem on an Ubuntu machine? What packages do I need to install?

Today I found out that x265 is already present in ffmpeg so I compiled ffmpeg with this guide Sadly libx265 did not work on ubuntu, however on windows I tried the same thing with zeranoe ffmpeg build and it worked without a problem. So do you think i did something wrong or it is not yet implemented in linux build (using that guide)?
