  • Multipage WIA scan (docfeeder) scans 1 page and blocks scanner

    Using C# (VS2008) and WIA - scanning to TIFF format; When I use the scanner for 1 page on the flatbed or document feeder the method executes without any problem. When I load multiple forms into the feeder the execution halts after scanning the first page (keeping status: "scanning to pc") but does not scan the next document(s). The method returns the stream of the first page and halts - am able to save the stream and everything; just am lost at what to do next... What statement am I missing? What am I missing here? TIA!

I have this function that returns 1 if the number of black pixels is greater than treshold def checkBlackPixels( img, threshold ): width = img.width height = img.height nchannels = img.nChannels step = img.widthStep dimtot = width * height data = img.imageData black = 0 for i in range( 0, height ): for j in range( 0, width ): r = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 0] g = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 1] b = data[i*step + j*nchannels + 2] if r == 0 and g == 0 and b == 0: black = black + 1 if black >= threshold * dimtot: return 1 else: return 0 The loop (scan each pixel of a given image) works good when the input is an RGB image...but if the input is a single channel image I get this error: for j in range( width ): TypeError: Nested sequences should have 2 or 3 dimensions The input single channel image (called 'rg' in the next example) is taken from an RGB image called 'src' processed with cvSplit and then cvAbsDiff cvSplit( src, r, g, b, 'NULL' ) rg = cvCreateImage( cvGetSize(src), src.depth, 1 ) # R - G cvAbsDiff( r, g, rg ) I've also already noticed that the problem comes from the difference image got from cvSplit...     Hello I have this query: SELECT * FROM SAMPLE SAMPLE INNER JOIN TEST TEST ON SAMPLE.SAMPLE_NUMBER = TEST.SAMPLE_NUMBER INNER JOIN RESULT RESULT ON TEST.TEST_NUMBER = RESULT . TEST_NUMBER WHERE SAMPLED_DATE BETWEEN '2010-03-17 09:00' AND '2010-03-17 12:00' the biggest table here is RESULT, contains 11.1M records. The left 2 tables about 1M. this query works slowly (more than 10 minutes) and returns about 800 records. executing plan shows clustered index scan over all 11M records. RESULT.TEST_NUMBER is a clustered primary key. if I change 2010-03-17 09:00 to 2010-03-17 10:00 - i get about 40 records. it executes for 300ms. and plan shows clustered index seek if i replace * in SELECT clause to RESULT.TEST_NUMBER (covered with index) - then all become fast in first case too. this points to hdd io issues, but doesn't clarifies changing plan. so, any ideas?

    As part of our software's installation, we install drivers for a required 3rd party hardware component. Currently it's up to the user to manually scan for their hardware's drivers once our installation is completed. Is there an easy way to get Windows to automatically look for the drivers we installed? If so, how does it work? Do we need to tell the OS for which hardware device we have drivers, or just that we have drivers in a certain location? Or can we just install the drivers to System32 folder and trigger a driver rescan?

    Running the following query (SQL Server 2000) the execution plan shows that it used an index seek and Profiler shows it's doing 71 reads with a duration of 0. select top 1 id from table where name = '0010000546163' order by id desc Contrast that with the following with uses an index scan with 8500 reads and a duration of about a second. declare @p varchar(20) select @p = '0010000546163' select top 1 id from table where name = @p order by id desc Why is the execution plan different? Is there a way to change the second method to seek? thanks EDIT Table looks like CREATE TABLE [table] ( [Id] [int] IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT NULL , [Name] [varchar] (13) COLLATE Latin1_General_CI_AS NOT NULL) Id is primary clustered key There is a non-unique index on Name and a unique composite index on id/name There are other columns - left them out for brevity

I have the regex: @spaceCode = "[A-Z]([A-Z0-9][0-9]|[0-9])" @moveCode=/^(?<one>#{@spaceCode})((?<mode>x|\-)(?<two>#{@spaceCode}))+$/ However I get: s="A11-A22xA33".scan(@moveCode) => [["A11", "11", "xA33", "x", "A33", "33"]] which is most definatly NOT what I want. The string could be any length of C22 etc, with either x or - as the seperator, and put it into an array like: ['A22','x',B22','-'.......] Examples: "A22xB23-D23xE25" => ['A22','x','B23','=','D23','E25;] "AA2xA9-A1" => ['AA2','x','A9','-','A1']

    I use Microsoft Security Essentials as my antivirus on my Win7 box. New virus definitions to Security Essentials are installed using Windows Update. However, the updates are marked as optional by default, as opposed to important which means that they don't get installed automatically. I have to select the updates from the list of optional updates and install them manually. Is there a way to change this behavior so that new definitions are marked as important and installed automatically?

    Previous information concerning my issue can be found here: Virus...? Tons of people talking. Not sure where else to ask. I heard the loud sounds and whatnot from one of the ads but nothing was harmed and other than having the life scared out of me nothing was immediately affected. Literally nothing has changed.   • What the hell was THAT?!?

    My system is Windows XP SP3, updated with the latest patches. The PC is connected to a Cisco 877 ADSL router, which does NAT from the internal network to its single static public IP address. There are no forwarded ports, and the router's management console can only be accessed from the inside. I was doing two things: working on a remote office machine via VPN and browsing some web pages on the Cisco web site. The remote network is absolutely safe (it's a lab network, four virtual servers, no publicly accessible services and no users at all; also, none of what I'm going to describe ever happened there). The Cisco web site... well, I suppose is quite safe, too. Suddenly, something happened. Strange popups appears anywhere; programs claiming they're "antimalware", "antispyware" et so on begins autoinstalling; fake Windows Update and Security Center icons pop up in the system tray. svchost.exe began crashing repeatedly. Then, finally, after some minutes of this... BSOD. And, upon rebooting, BSOD again. Even in safe mode. Ok, that was obviously some virus/trojan/whatever. I had to install a new copy of Windows on another partition to clean things up. I found strange executables, services and DLLs almost anywhere. Amongst the other things, user32.dll and ndis.sys had been replaced. A fake software called "Antimalware Doctor" had been installed. There were services with completely random names or even GUIDs (!), and also ones called "IpSect" and "Darkness". There were executable files without an .exe extension. There were even two boot-class drivers, which I'm quite sure are the ones that finally caused the system to crash. A true massacre. Ok, now the questions: What the hell was that?!? It was something more than a simple virus! How did it manage to attack my computer, as I am behind a firewall and was not doing anything even only potentially harmful on the web at the time?

    The other day I got a virus on my laptop (Windows XP), but Adaware found it and removed it. Not soon enough though, because it corrupted my rundll32.exe file. Now I can't run almost any application and I have tried to install a couple programs to fix my registry, but I can't even run the install file. What other options do I have besides re-installing my OS?

  • Is this a false positive by Avast?

    Avast keeps detecting the rootkit Win32:Evo-gen. I select to delete it, but when I restart the computer the message pops up again. The location is C:\Program Files(x86)\ASUS\AsusFanControlService\1.00.17\AsusFanControlService.exe this somewhat makes sense because I do have an Asus motherboard. Should I choose "ignore" and remember the selection or is it likely I do have a virus that is resisting deletion?

    When I am pinging non-existing host like 'zzz' or 'qwerty' I am getting the following result Pinging zzz.kanisa.com [209.62.20.200] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 209.62.20.200: bytes=32 time=60ms TTL=46 Reply from 209.62.20.200: bytes=32 time=66ms TTL=46 It looks like a virus to me. But I was unable to find a solution on web. Any ideas how to fix it?

  • Able to connect to the net, but only through FF with proxies disabled.

    I guess I got a virus or something and it's screwing up my connections. I'm able to browse fine in Firefox with proxies disabled, but other than that I have no connection. Currently, I need to install a program, but it requires an internet connection, and it keeps running into connection errors - same problem the other day when trying to register a product I purchased. I usually can figure this stuff out, but this one has me baffled. Any help troubleshooting this would be much appreciated.

    Currently we are using ReadyNAS RN102 by NETGEAR to hold all our images from all our machines. My question is can viruses expand from the machines and infect the NAS drive and the backups? We are using AOMEI Backupper. EDIT: Basically, I want to keep my clean backups clean. I keep Daily, Weekly, Monthly achievable backups, my worry is a virus might attempt or try to infect these backups making using them worthless.
