  • Can't write the SysWow64 value to registry with vbscript for Screensaver

    Scripts, registries, screen-savers, oh my! I'm trying to use a screen-saver on a Windows XP 64 bit machine which uses a .NET app which makes an interop call which relies on some x86 Shockwave Dlls (some Shockwave animation). Everything should be in the %systemroot%\WINNT\SysWOW64 directory. When the timeout for the screensaver occurs, the process should looks like this: Screensaver.scr - .NET app - shockwave animation. During installation I want a vbscript to my screen-saver file to copy the Screensaver.scr to the SysWow64 directory and then set the proper registry key to this file for Windows to launch the screen-saver. The code is something like this: Dim sScreenSaver, tScreenSaver sScreenSaver = "C:\SourceFiles\bin\ScreenSaver.scr" 'screensaver tScreenSaver = "C:\winnt\SysWOW64\" Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") 'script shell to run objects Set FSO = createobject("scripting.filesystemobject") 'file system object 'copy screensaver FSO.CopyFile sScreenSaver, tScreenSaver, True 'set screen saver Dim p1 p1 = "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\" WshShell.RegWrite p1 & "SCRNSAVE.EXE", (tScreenSaver & "ScreenSaver.scr") After installation, I can verify the the Screensaver exists in the correct directory. (It actually seems to be in both the system32 and the sysWOW64 directories---whether that's the install script or something I did post-install I'm in the process of verifying.) However, the registry entry is not correct. In both the 32 and 64 bit regedit I see the HKCU\ControlPanel\Desktop\SCRNSAVE.EX is set to: C:\WINNT\system32\Screensaver.scr This isn't right. The screen-saver won't run from this directory. It only runs from SysWOW64. If I manually edit the registry with regedit to the correct SysWOW64 path everything works fine. Is this a problem with using the script or is this a Windows registry redirection, or filesystem redirection problem? You'd think this would be simple...

I am using the tooltips from the Jquery Tools library to create a popup window when mousing over an hrefed image, this I want to use to cusomise the call to change the content in the DIV.     I want to use a JFormattedTextField to allow the user to input time duration values into a form. Sample valid values are: 2h 30m 72h 15m 6h 0h However I am having limited success with this. Can some one please suggest how this can be accomplished? I am OK if this result can be achieved using a JTextField as well. Thanks!   • Find/Replace but Increment Value

    Hello, I have an .HTML file that has many photos attached to it for displaying a photo gallery. I'm replacing old photos with new ones, and I'm thinking there must be a more intelligent way than simply copying and pasting repetitive file names. I would love to be able to replace and increment a file name on each replace, starting at a base file name of my choosing. For example... ...images/69thStreet010.jpg ...images/69thStreet011.jpg ...images/69thStreet012.jpg Basically performing a CTRL+F and REPLACE '69thStreet010.jpg' with... ...images/xyz001.jpg ...images/xyz002.jpg ...images/xyz003.jpg And so on until I want it to stop.   • Incorrect value for sum of two NSIntegers

    Hi everybody: I'm sure I'm missing something and the answer is very simple, but I can't seem to understand why this is happening. I'm trying to make an average of dates: NSInteger runningSum =0; NSInteger count=0; for (EventoData *event in self.events) { NSDate *dateFromString = [[NSDate alloc] init]; if (event.date != nil) { dateFromString = [dateFormatter dateFromString:event.date]; runningSum += (NSInteger)[dateFromString timeIntervalSince1970]; count += 1; } } if (count>0) { NSLog(@"average is: %@",[NSDate dateWithTimeIntervalSince1970:(NSInteger)((CGFloat)runningAverage/count)]); } Everything seems to work OK, except for runningSum += (NSInteger)[dateFromString timeIntervalSince1970], which gives an incorrect result. If I put a breakpoint when taking the average of two equal dates (2009-10-10, for example, which is a timeInterval of 1255125600), runningSum is -1784716096, instead of the expected 2510251200. I've tried using NSNumber and I get the same result. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks! Antonio

  • Calculating the average color between two colors in PHP, using an index number as reference value

    Hi all! In PHP, I am trying to calculate the average color (in hex) between to different hex colors.. However, I also need to be able to supply an index number between 0.0 and 1.0. So for example: I have $color1 = "#ffffff" and $color2 = "#0066CC" .. If I would write a function to get the average color and I would supply 0.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#ffffff". If I would supply 1.0 as the index number, the function would need to return "#0066CC".. However if I would supply 0.2, the function would need to return an average color between the two colors, but still closer to color1 than to color2.. If I would supply index number 0.5, I would get the exact average color of both colors.. I have been trying to accomplish this for several days now but I can't seem to figure it out..! Any help would therefor be greatly appreciated!.. Thanks!

    i'm trying to determine if a color has been supplied as an optional argument to a function. in order to determine this, i'm simply writing if(color){...} and supplying NaN if i don't want there to be a color. however, it seems that the color black (0x000000) also equates to NaN. how can i determine if a supplied color number argument is present and black if 0x000000 is passed as the argument?

I can't seem to figure out how to Attach the LOV to the existing item. I tried to attach the LOV by heading over to the item's property and selecting the LOV I created, but it just doesn't seem to attach. Is this a bug with APEX or am I doing something wrong ?   • SQL (mySQL) update some value in all records processed by a select

    I am using mySQL from their C API, but that shouldn't be relevant. My code must process records from a table that match some criteria, and then update the said records to flag them as processed. The lines in the table are modified/inserted/deleted by another process I don't control. I am afraid in the following, the UPDATE might flag some records erroneously since the set of records matching might have changed between step 1 and step 3. SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE <CONDITION>; # step 1 <iterate over the selected set of lines. This may take some time.> # step 2 UPDATE myTable SET processed=1 WHERE <CONDITION> # step 3 What's the smart way to ensure that the UPDATE updates all the lines processed, and only them? A transaction doesn't seem to fit the bill as it doesn't provide isolation of that sort: a recently modified record not in the originally selected set might still be targeted by the UPDATE statement. For the same reason, SELECT ... FOR UPDATE doesn't seem to help, though it sounds promising :-) The only way I can see is to use a temporary table to memorize the set of rows to be processed, doing something like: CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE workOrder (jobId INT(11)); INSERT INTO workOrder SELECT myID as jobId FROM myTable WHERE <CONDITION>; SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE myID IN (SELECT * FROM workOrder); <iterate over the selected set of lines. This may take some time.> UPDATE myTable SET processed=1 WHERE myID IN (SELECT * FROM workOrder); DROP TABLE workOrder; But this seems wasteful and not very efficient. Is there anything smarter?     I have an array with two columns in numpy. For example: a = array([[1, 5, nan, 6], [10, 6, 6, nan]]) a = transpose(a) I want to efficiently iterate through the two columns, a[:, 0] and a[:, 1] and remove any pairs that meet a certain condition, in this case if they are NaN. The obvious way I can think of is: new_a = [] for val1, val2 in a: if val2 == nan or val2 == nan: new_a.append([val1, val2]) But that seems clunky. What's the pythonic numpy way of doing this? thanks.
