    Hi, In my Flex 3 site, I'm getting a 1090 error, an xml parser error in IE only. It works in Safari and Firefox.   • Will asking users to upgrade their browser cause issues?

    Ok I am considering putting up something asking ie6 users to upgrade their browser. However, I am concerned that users will upgrade it, not like it. Then blame me. Is this a real concern? am I going to get people calling me asking me how to use their new browser or how to get their old one back? Whats your thought on this topic? Thanks!!

  • Getting a screenshot of a page using .NET - Need help with code

    I'm writing a specialized crawler and parser for internal use and I require the ability to take a screenshot of a web page in order to check what colours are being used throughout. The program will take in around ten web addresses and will save them as a bitmap image, from there I plan to use LockBits in order to create a list of the five most used colours within the image. To my knowledge it's the easiest way to get the colours used within a web page but if there is an easier way to do it please chime in with your suggestions. Anyway, I was going to use this program until I saw the price tag. I'm also fairly new to C#, having only used it for a few months. Can anyone provide me with a solution to my problem of taking a screenshot of a web page in order to extract the colour scheme? EDIT: Sorry for not getting back to this sooner, but I've been busy with some other things. Anyway, the code seems to work well, but the problem I am having right now is that I am running it within a form, and naturally with Application.Run() being called I cannot run two instances of the same form at once. It recommended Form.showDialog() but that broke everything.   • Can't sign into linkedin when using a QT4 (WebKit-based) browser?

    I started using the lightweight QT4 browser for some of the time on my Mac. Most simple websites, and even quite a few AJAX-heavy web apps, work for me flawlessly, including gmail (!) However, with LinkedIn, I can't even manage to sign in. Even when I change the useragent to one of a regular browser, it keeps kicking me out. Any ideas what could be wrong and for some workaround?     I currently use curl_multi_* to connect to a few sites. Its only sending a few $_GET variables to start a script, but it outputs the html from the sites to the browser. I want to stop this. I already use a short timeout, but sometimes the scripts start fast, and I don't want to set the timeout any lower, in case it causes it not to connect. So how can I stop the output to the browser from cURL?

Is there another way to achieve this?

    If a user starts uploading a file (in a web app), and they close their browser before the upload completes, what happens? My guess would be that the upload gets abandoned, and the server has some garbage cleaning mechanism that kicks in eventually, but I'm not sure. Any difference between servers or server languages? Any difference between quitting the browser and just closing a window?

I was wondering if I have to move this object outside the parent elements or I can set these properties with css. At the moment if I set width:100% and height:100%, it fits the parent (of course) and not the window. thanks
