  • Where can I announce a new open source project?

  • Domain masking (and simple page links)

    How do you set up the domain (Im using godaddy) to mask the server url but to append the sub-page link. Im thinking something like the wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/something (or, if it would require httpd.conf access, setting it to append the default subpage link eg. '?page_id=2') Currently I can set up the domain to either be masked completely without showing any sub-page links or to simply redirect my domain to my web server.

It seems that my connection with my wireless network keeps going in and out.     Possible Duplicate: Strange incoming links appearing on site statistics I'm getting weird traffic from Japan, from a site called ime.nu Why weird? because I'm not able to identify the link and also when going to their homepage link it just shows an Apache Test Page, while I'm seeing it is a pretty big site in analysis sites (Alexa Ranked 121 in JP) Can someone help me understand the mystery?

  • Retroactively applying a Piwik goal to visitors

    I started receiving a large (for me) amount of traffic on one of my pages yesterday. Today, I thought that it would be useful to track goals from that page -- there's a link to my blog from it. I added the 'visited external link' goal to Piwik, and new visits are being recorded. However, it seems to me that there must be enough data in the database to retroactively apply the goal to past users -- is there a way to achieve that?.

Well, this may not be that much as compared to so many other users out there but I am happy with mine. So, I was thinking of adding my profile link on my résumé. (Just the profile link and not that "I have this much reputation on SO"). Those who haven't seen, can see this question Would you put your stackoverflow profile link on your CV / Resume?. How would this look like? Forums/Blogs/Miscellaneous others No blogging as yet but active participant in Stackoverflow. I thought of commenting but it would be too long - In my questions/answers I put a lot of statements like - "AFAIK ...", "following are my assumptions so far ...", "am I correct to conclude that... ?", "I doubt if it is possible to ..." etc. when I am not sure about something and I rarely involve in fights with other users. However I do argue on topics sometimes if I feel it is necessary and if I have a valid point. I do accept my mistakes and apologize for the same. As we all know nobody is perfect. I must have written many things which may be judged as wrong by a potential employer. But what if the same employer notices that I have improved in the quality of content by comparing old content with new one? Isn't that great? I also try to go back to older questions/answers and put corrective comments etc. when I feel I was wrong or if I can improve my post. Of course there are many employers who want you (potential employees) to be correct each and every time. They immediately remove you from consideration when you say a single incorrect thing. I have personally met such an interviewer few months back. He didn't even care to listen to any good thing I had done after he found a single wrong thing. Now the question is do you really care to work with such people? Or do you like those people who give value to the fact that you are striving to improve every day. I personally prefer the latter.

  • Xorg.conf (nvidia) Second Monitor getting settings of first

    I've been spending the weekend (and some time before that) trying to set up my Korean QHD270 and Benq G2222HDL monitors with Ubuntu 13.10. With the nouveau drivers install both monitor function perfectly fine. After installing the nvidia drivers the Benq works but the QHD270 does not. Now, after days of struggling I managed to get the QHD270 to work following a mixture of blogs, particularly; this one and learnitwithme. Now, unfortunatly my G2222HDL does not work.   • How to make Gwibber notifications clickable?

    One of the accounts that I have in Gwibber is my Twitter account. It nicely shows every now and then notifications with the new twits. Whenever a twit has a link (URL) within it I feel an urge to click on the link withing the notification to directly open it within a browser. However, it seems like notifications are not clickable and when hovering over them they just become opaque. Is there a way to make those links clickable?

    Ubuntu One's Security FAQ indicates that Canonical encrypts connections and restricts access to user data. This all well and fine, and I do trust SSL for online banking and other things more valuable than my private keys. That said, I am quite anxious about putting my ~/.ssh/id_dsa up in the cloud. Obviously, no system is totally secure. Could some knowledgeable party, then, pragmatically quantify the risks?

My driver is installed and activated, I have tried removing and re-adding the network, and various other fixes.     reciprical links cancel each other out from a search engines point of view but what counts as a recpirical link .. Do reciprical links work on a site level or an individual page level ? If you where to say get an in bound link from site-a.com to mysite.com and then linked back from blog.yoursite.com would that be reciprical. Im aware google sees subdomains as different domains all together but in this instance is that the same ?

    I would like to create a custom Ubuntu image based on Natty using Ubuntu Customization Kit. I also want to customize the icons appearing on the Unity Launcher. I can change the icons on my desktop system with the following command: gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher favorites "['firefox.desktop', 'nautilus-home.desktop', 'libreoffice-writer.desktop']" I tried to run this command from the UCK console while creating the Live CD, but it doesn’t seem to work. Do you have any ideas how I could solve this?

So why is this a foundation version? Basically the new drag and drop designer tool allows you to tailor your own dictionary collection of components and then simply select and position those into your resulting exchange structure. This is true global reuse enabled from a canonical domain dictionary collection. So instead of grappling with XSD Schema syntax, or UML model nuances – this is straightforward direct WYSIWYG visual engineering – using familiar sets of business components. Then the toolkit writes the complex XSD Schema for you, along with test samples, documentation, XMI/UML models, Mindmaps and more. So how do you get a set of business components? The toolkit allows you to harvest these from existing schema collections or enterprise data models, or as in the case of NIEM, existing domain dictionary collections. I’ve been using this for the latest IEEE/OASIS/NIST initiative on a Common Data Format (CDF) for elections management systems. A foundation built using the OASIS CAM standard combined with aspects of the NIEM Naming and Design Rules and the UN/CEFACT Core Components specifications and emerging work on OASIS CIQ name and address and ANSI/ISO code list schema. We still have a raft of work to do to integrate this into SOA best practices and extend the dictionary capabilities to assist true community development. Answering questions such as: - How good is my canonical component collection? - How much reuse is really occurring? - What inconsistencies and extensions are there in the dictionary components? Expect us to begin tackling these areas now that the foundation is in place.
