• Is it possible to add PBIs/tasks to TFS without visual studio?

  Hello, we're transitioning to doing all our task tracking in TFS 2010 and I'm wondering if there is a more lightweight way of working with it than through Visual Studio? Just some sort of web-interface or a lightweight client, or even some powershell commandlets where I can create new tasks and add information to existing ones.

• Is IE Collection reliable tool for testing with various versions of Internet Explorer?

  On my Windows machine -- I typically test different versions of Internet Explorer using an array of Virtual Machine instances (which obviously requires a fair amount of investment in time and money). In a pinch I have also used IETester -- which at times can be a little unreliable. However, I just discovered IE Collection and was wondering if people have used it -- and can I rely on it for web page testing purposes? Would love to know what you think.

  I've got the following in my .h file: #ifndef _BALANCE_NOTIFICATION #define _BALANCE NOTIFICATION const NSString *BalanceUpdateNotification #endif and the following in my .m file: const NSString *BalanceUpdateNotification = @"BalanceUpdateNotification"; I'm using this with the following codes: [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(updateBalance:) name:BalanceUpdateNotification object:nil]; and [[NSNotificatoinCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:BalanceUpdateNotificatoin object:self userInfo:nil]; Which works, but it gives me a warning: Passing argument 1 of 'postNotificationName:object:userInfo' discards qualifiers from pointer target type So, I can cast it to (NSString *), but I'm wondering what the proper way to do this is.

• Why are there so many data centres in Texas?

  I've been searching for online hosting recently and have noticed a high concentration of hosting providers in Texas. Just wondering why this is? It couldn't be possibly be because of temperature (I don't think Texas is a particularly cool place to be) or maybe power is cheaper in Texas vs the rest of the States? Or maybe it's just there are laws in place which give hosting providers tax breaks? Would be very interested to find out.

  Hi Everyone: I am wondering if there is some way to set a separate .datasource for each custom field in a TTMessageController. Right now I am using a TTMessageController subclass (and referencing the data source controller delegate) and simply setting the data source of the message controller to self. But I only believe this will work for one field with one set of options. Thanks for any help!

  Is there a limit to the maximum number of concurrent users connected to SQL Server 2008? I am guessing computer resources determine that limit (if it exists), but I am also wondering if there is a theoretical limit. I am using resuable annotations, but am wondering how I can pass updated information to my UIViewController class. Let's say I have 2 string values which map to 2 UILabels on my view. I use Rails 3.0.0beta A lot of files can be uploaded at the same time, and the cost (from a performance point of view) of an upload is quite heavy, my app will be busy handling uploads all the time!
