My site is requesting a remote image which is being transferred with the wrong MIME type. I was wondering how might I override it in PHP to tell it that it's an image? I can't use header('Content-Type') because the image is being used in a HTML document.
http://manga.justcarl.co.uk/N/Naruto/494/1 - one of the pages attempting to request an image... the image looks broken because it's trying to output it as html
Some javascript libraries, such as JQuery and Dojo, provide AOP APIs that can introduce before, after, or around advice to a function. Just wondering whether there is any javascript AOP libraries can introduce such advices to an individual statement?
Hi all,
I'm doing some endian-sensitive file manipulation on iPhone. Are there standard macros or #defines in that environment that indicate native endianness and offer swapping if necessary? I know I can check in advance and just do the right thing for this particular architecture, but wondering if there are cleaner ways of doing the right thing. (The file format is little endian; if it were big-endian, I'd probably just use the htons/htonl family.)
Thanks.
I was recently made the "open source representative" for our software team. Some of the duties include:
Tracking FOSS used in our projects
Propose FOSS solutions to the software team
Being the intermediary between the software team and the legal department
While I have some experience with FOSS, I was wondering:
Where I can get a good overview of FOSS licenses?
What should I be aware of when dealing with the legal department?
How can I gently introduce the team to FOSS?
Yesterday I ran across the jcotton framework for creating canvas applications and I was wondering what the state of the art is.
Do other such frameworks exist? If so what are their [dis]advantages?
Hi All,
We are about to launch a mobile site and are wondering what the best way of testing across as many mobile browsers as possible would be?
This could be a company that does this sort of thing, or a way in which to do it in-house, we're not being picky.
Thanks,
Kyle
In my current adventure of learning hibernate and setting it up to use an appserver's connection pool, most examples and resources out there point you in the direction of binding the SessionFactory to a JNDI resource in your appserver in the process.
I wondering what the benefit of this is? Since the you can access a the connection pool with out doing this.
Hi there,
I was wondering, is there a way to create a timestamp in c# from a datetime?
I need a millisecond precision value that also works in Compact Framework(saying that since DateTime.ToBinary() does not exist in CF).
My problem is that i want to store this value in a database agnostic way so i can sortby it later and find out which value is greater from another etc.
Hello,
In some applications like Mail, when you have a UITextField, there is a little + button to the right. When you tap it, a modal view controller comes up which you can select a phone number, address, etc from, and it will appear in the text field. I was wondering how to implement this in my own app. Thanks,
Isaac
I was just wondering which would be cheaper, using a try catch block for index out of bounds or checking the length of a multi dimensional array and comparing values?
I have a feeling it's the length, since I can store the length in a variable and then just do if's which are relatively cheap. I'm just not sure how expensive try-catch is.
Thanks!
Sorry if this is a bit random, but is it good practice to give all fields of a class a value when the class is instanciated? I'm just wondering if its better practice to have a constuctor that takes no parameters and gives all the fields default values, or whether fields that have values should be assigned and others left alone until required?
I hope that makes sense,
Becky
I am creating a website with multiple sections--admin, client, user, and anonymous--each user group having less access then the next. I am wondering what form of authentication would be best for my use?
I have heard the if you are just dealing with a websites then a web form is for you (because it's prettier). HTTP header authentication with PHP is said to get clunky/sloppy. htAcess is pretty much the hard core of various authentication methods I have looked up, but is it too much?
hey guys , im writing a class and im wondering how i can write a condition statement in this way :
$this->referer= (!empty($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'])) ? htmlspecialchars((string) $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']) : '';
i need to find my user_id and this is the usual condtion :
if(is_user($user)){
$cookie=cookiedecode($user);
$user_id=intval($cookie[0]);
}
and i think it should be something like this :
$this->user_id = (is_user($user)) ? (cookiedecode($user)) : $cookie[0];

I am wanting to start Web Development and I was wondering what languages I would want to learn and what (if at all possible) free tools I would want to use.
i have recently finished understanding the basics of c++ and i was wondering how can be assured that i have reached the level i want to reach ..is there any site where one can take tests to know he knows enough ..
Hi;
I'm trying to create a multi-sheet excel document, and thus far I'd been doing it in PHP - but using PHPExcel was eating up 70MB of RAM for about 60,000 spreadsheet cells total.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Spreadsheet::WriteExcel and if it has problems with creating very large documents.
I'd just give it a shot but I'm very inexperienced with Perl and it could take me quite a bit of time to get this up and rolling even if for a test, and I thought someone here might have insight for me.
I am working to configure Spring-Security with an existing application, for just basic security (i.e. what pages a user can see based on their roles). The question came up wondering if we could set what roles are required for each page in java instead of the ApplicationContext.xml.
The idea is to store them in a table in our database, so we can easily change them with out a redeployment. Is this possible? How?
i am wondering regarding Java: is there a file extension separator?
like *.doc, the "." being the question.
i know there is a line.separator. just would like my app to be portable so i need to know.
thank you.
I was wondering how to build a FQL query where i could receive links/urls of my app that an user's friends have liked. I got the link table which looks good but there i need an object id, which i dunno how to retrieve for my urls.
I was wondering if anyone was familiar with any attempts at algorithmic sentence negation.
For example, given a sentence like "This book is good" provide any number of alternative sentences meaning the opposite like "This book is not good" or even "This book is bad".
Obviously, accomplishing this with a high degree of accuracy would probably be beyond the scope of current NLP, but I'm sure there has been some work on the subject. If anybody knows of any work, care to point me to some papers?
After reading
http://www.pragprog.com/magazines/2010-03/javascript-its-not-just-for-browsers-any-more
im wondering which is the best IDE to develop service-side javascript applications?
I want a nice development environment with commonjs and node etc. Preferebly windows but anything is interesting really. Is there any IDE with some nifty refactoring tools, maybe some intellisense-like function, etc etc.. Or is it notepad++ ftw?
Hi, I have some errors in my output source code, I'm wondering if there is a tool that is able to look through the site and find which .tpl file my error is in? That, or at least give me a list of .tpls to look through. I can't seem to find this error and the site isn't very well documented. I'm not the best PHP programmer, I'd be looking for an online resource or something pretty simple.
Thanks very much.
