  • Display user name in reference to user id in django template

    I expect this is an easy question. For some reason, I don't have a solution yet. I have an object set from django reversion: version_list. Each object in the set has a user id attached to it. How do I grab the user names that correspond to the user ID's? To try to be clearer, if each object in version_list has a name, date, and user id, how can I join the version_list set with the user table to figure out what user id goes with which name? This is done in the view, or the template?

However, the code looks quite ugly. Do I really need to set up faux constants like that, and then do all that math to calculate what I want? It's been a while since I've worked with the Date object. Is this the best way to do this?

    How can I, from within a java program on windows, prevent a debugger window being displayed if a program I invoke crashes, and how can I detect the fact that it has crashed? Background I have a problem with a java application running on Windows which is launching an unreliable third party program by way of ProcessBuilder.start(). Specifically, if the external program crashes, the 'Visual Studio Just-In-time Debugger' window pops up asking if the user wants to debug the program. From the java application side, I'm happy to deal with the fact that under some circumstances, the third party program will crash, but I'd like to be able to detect and silently handle that situation from within the Java code without requiring any user interaction.

    In my web app, I would like to show an "Admin" menu link only to users who have been added to the database as an administrator. What would be the best way to do this in ASP.NET MVC 2? At the moment, I am doing it by checking whether the user exists in the Admin database table for every page. Obviously, there must be a better way to do this. If it helps, I am using Windows Auth.

  • MFMailComposerViewController doesn't always display attachments

    I'm attaching a few files to an email to export from the application I've written, namely a .pdf and a .png. I create these by rendering some view to a context and creating an image and a pdf. I can validate that the files are created properly (I can confirm this by looking in my apps sandbox from Finder, and also by sending the email. I receive the files correctly.) The problem I'm getting is that larger files don't have a preview generated for them within the MFMailComposerViewController view (I simply get a blue icon with a question mark). Is there a limitation on file sizes that can be attached in order for preview to function correctly? With small files it works as expected, but if I try and attach a pdf with the following properties: Pages: 1 Dimensions: 2414 x 1452 Size: 307 KB the file is generated correctly, but displays the question mark icon. If there is no way around that, can I remove the attachment preview altogether? Many thanks, Bryn

Someone else helped me out with this code, but I noticed that not all images are PNG. Many are jpg or gif. And still they are displayed successfully. does anyone know why?

  • How do display a UserControl with satisfying all imports

    Dear SO, I'm having some issues with Silverlight 4/ MEF. I have a basic framework setup with a Silverlight Navigation app at the core. Image link to the diagram for clarification The main app (Desu) contains some pages and controls that export en import nicely. I dynamicly load controls from Desu.Controls(like an imageviewer which i identify with the IImageViewer interface) and some pages from Desu.Pages. The first problem I had was with dynamicly loading pages and being able to navigate to these pages (eg. use dummyhttp://blagh/desutestpage.aspx#/Activation when Desu.Pages was loaded from the xap). I solved this by using a custom MetaAttribute and a custom contentloader. Now for the question part: I want to load the ImageViewerControl from Desu.Controls in HomePage in Desu. I haven't loaded the Desu.Controls into the package though. When i try to load the control it gives me CompositionException because it can't satisfy the ImageViewControl import. I tried setting AllowRecomposition=true but that didn't help. So is it possible to load a control without satisfying all imports and, if yes, how does one do this?

  • jQuery UI datepicker will not display - full code included

    I am having trouble displaying the jQuery datepicker as shown here: http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/ I believe I downloaded all of the proper files, but to be certain, I started from scratch and ripped the demo site. Not all of it, but what I believed to be the important parts. The result is no datepicker to be shown and no javascript errors. Now according to my project requirements content in textbox should only be 0-9 and a-f (hexadecimal values) and textbox should take the input based on hexadecimal values. Demonstratation: 12 ab 32 a5 64 Now if my cursor is at the end and i go on pressing backspace, it shud remove the values as it happens in a general text box. Now If my cursor is at the beginning of a5, and i press "delete key", the value should become like: 12 ab 32 56 4 If my cursor is at the end of a5 and i press the 'delete key" nothing should happen. The problem is the whitespace is contracted so that the columsn don't line up. SAme results in FF, IE6 and Chrome. What am I missing?

This is what I'm doing by hand: $ cat .git/HEAD ref: refs/heads/v3.3 $ cat .git/refs/heads/v3.3 6050732e725c68b83c35c873ff8808dff1c406e1 But I need a script that can reliably pipe the output of some command to a text file such that the text file contains exactly the commit id of HEAD (nothing more or less, and not just a ref).     I have a UITabBar Application with two views that load large amounts of data from the web in their "viewWillAppear" methods. I want to show a progress bar or an activity indicator while this data is being retrieved, to make sure the user knows the app isn't frozen. I am aware that this has been asked before. I simply need some clarification on what seems to be a rather good solution. I have implimented the code in the example. The question's original asker later solved their problem, by putting the retrieval of data into another "thread". I understand the concept of threads, but I do not know how I would impliment this. With research, I have found that I need to move all of my heavy data retrieval into a background thread, as all of the UI updating occurs in the main thread. If one would be so kind as to provide an example for me, I would be very appreciative. I can provide parts of my existing code as necessary.

  • Cannot access new product attributes in grid display

    I added a couple new attribute to my products(a boolean "yes/no" fields). They are variables to enable/disable the price from displaying on the product detail page, and grid view. I managed to get it work on the product info page. But on product grid page I cant seem to access those variable. Specifically, the template i am working with is catalog/product/list.phtml. Ive tried adding them in the xml file like this layout/catalog.xml: <block type="catalog/product_list" name="product_list" template="catalog/product/list.phtml"> <action method="addAttribute"><name>DisplayPrice</name></action> <action method="addAttribute"><name>CustomOrder</name></action> </block> and I am trying to access the attributes like so in catalog/product/list.phtml: <?php echo $_product->getDisplayPriceName()?
