• Allow users to enter a variable length list of items in asp.net form

  I need to let my users enter a variable length list of items into something that looks like a grid view (or a series of standard text boxes stacked vertically). Each item could be a few characters or a few hundred characters long, and I just want them to enter a "sentence", and then tab to the next row, and always having another blank one ready to go at the bottom of the list. I don't want to save any data to my SQL Server DB until they enter the entire list and then click on a "save all" button. When they hit the "save all" button they will be given a preview screen where the data will be presented as standard HTML ordered list. If they confirm/save, then each row of the grid will then be saved as a separate row into my SQL Server database (with an index to remember the order). What ASP.Net (or Jquery/javascript) UI control would be the best to use in this situation?

  I have two radio buttons each with a unique ID. When one is clicked, I would like to add $10 to a total. When the other is clicked, we go back to the original total price. My jquery looks like this: function check_ceu() { var price = <%= conference_price %>; if($('#ceu_yes').is(':checked')){ $('#total').val(parseFloat(price) + 10) } else{ $('#total').val(price) } } I have this function bound to document.ready (for page refreshes) and also the onchange handler of the radio buttons. In FF and Chrome this works fine. In IE, when the radio button with ID of "ceu_yes" is checked nothing happens, then when clicking back to the other radio button, 10 is added. So in essence, IE has the checkbox functionality reversed. Below is my code for the buttons: <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_yes" value="1" onchange="check_ceu()" /> $10 <input type="radio" name="ceu" id="ceu_no" value="0" checked="checked" onchange="check_ceu()" /> No, thank you Any ideas on this?

• Document width calculated via Javascript is different in Firefox compared to other browsers

  I have a problem with retrieving the current page document width from Mozilla Firefox. While the rest of the browsers report the correct width of the document, Firefox reports a smaller one (example: at screen resolution of 1920x1080 IE, Chrome and Safari reports 1920 while Firefox reports 1903). I use document width in $(document).ready(function() { ... }); to reposition a div element. Funny this is that after using alert() inside this function, the element reposition correctly, though the document size is still smaller than other browsers.

  How do I add let's say something like ajax=1 to all links on my page with jquery. I will also need to check if the url has existing parameters. for example "http://mysite.com/index.php?pl=132" will have to become "http://mysite.com/index.php?pl=132&ajax=1" Also, if the link does not have any parameters, for example "http://mysite.com/index.php", it will become "http://mysite.com/index.php?ajax=1" I want to load the jquery script on document ready so all links are changed on page load.   Hi I have a couple questions about nhibernate. I still don't understand what contextual sessions means. I do web stuff so I just choose "web" but I really don't know what it is doing. Should I put session.BeginTransaction() in Application_BeginRequest? Should I commit everything in Application_EndRequest? Or should I commit when needed. Say I need to insert a user and then down in some code later I need to update some other table. Should I make the user and do the update then finally commit or should I wait till both are ready to be commited? Should you always have session.Rollback() in Application_EndRequest? Should I session.close() or session.dispose() or both in Application_EndRequest?

  I have a div that is holding a google chart: <div id="chart_div" style="width: 600px; height: 300px;"></div> It has one CSS property: display: none. On the click of a button, I would like to have the chart be displayed using jQuery hide() and show(). It's working, however, the chart's dimensions are set to something different than I have specified and refuse to change to what I have specified. Here is my jquery code: $(document).ready(function(){ var chart = $('#chart_div'); $('#submit').click(function(){ chart.show('slow'); }); }); Let me know if theres any more code you would like to see. By the way, the chart div is not being contained in anything else so that isn't the problem.

• Problem with $.get while submitting form

  I'm trying to verify that an Account Name is not already in use once a user fills out a form. Is there some jQuery rule I'm not familiar with that would cause this to fail in on submit scenario? In code block 1, I get values returned like they should. Block 2 gives me a blank response.   I have a menu and when I hover one of the links a div shows. I want the user to be able to hover over this div but when the user hovers out of the div (mouseout i think its called) I want it to hide. Imagine a dropdown menu in css, the user hovers over the link and the sub nav is shown, when the user hovers out or away from the link and sub nav the sub nav dissapears. • I built my rails app with sqlite and without specifying any db field sizes, Is my app now foobared for production?

  I've been following a lot of good tutorials on building rails apps but I seem to be missing the whole specifying and validating db field sizes part. I love not needing to have to think about it when roughing out an app (I would have never done this with a PHP or ASP.net app). However, now that I'm ready to go to production, I think I might have done myself a disservice by not specifying field sizes as I went. My production db will be MySQL. What is the best practice here? Do I need to go through all of my migration files and specify sizes, update all the models with validation, and update all my form partial views with input max widths? or am I missing a critical step in my development process?

  Hello I would need to get tweets from my twitter account on my wordpress site. Okey, the basics i could do, but there is one special need. I would need to get only certain tweets. Tweets that have some #hashstag for example only tweets with hashtag #myss would show up on my wordpress site. Is there ready made plugin for this? • looping thru a list of checkboxes and saving the values, not working properly

The program gives me a list of checkboxes but a user ID. then u user can change his selection and push the save button (id="btnSaveUserIntersts") and i am trying to save in the hidden textbox all the values of the checkboxes that was choosen. The problem is that i am getting all the time the same selections that came form the database and not getting the new selection that the user made.   I'm implementing user threads on a Linux 2.4 kernel (homework) and my threads are basically just functions running with their own execution context (for example: uthread_create(functionpointer, args)). I'm having a hard time figuring out how to catch the return value and have it ready to be returned when two threads join. I know where to get the value from (eax), but not how to identify that the function actually finished. There's something called atexit, but I've seen people advising against using it, so... what is the best way to discover that a function returned and do something about it?

  I have a partial view that is rendered within a main view. The partial view takes advantage of System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations and Html.EnableClientValidation(). A link is clicked, and div containing the partial view is displayed within a JQuery.Dialog(). I then click the save button without entering any text in my validated input field. This causes the client side validation to fire as expected, and display the '*required' message beside the invalid field. When the cancel button is clicked, I want to reset the client side MVC validation back to it's default state and remove any messages, ready for when the user opens the dialog again. Is there a recommended way of doing this?
