    I have two tables - Parent table (Clients- ClntID,ClntName) And Child Table ( Orders- ClntID,OrderNumber,OrderDate) - Order Number column has a value equal to how many orders the Client has. It is not an autonumber ClntID ClntName 1 Company A 2 Company B ClntID OrderNumber OrderDate 1 1 11/1/2009 1 2 11/15/2009 2 1 2/12/2008 2 1 7/13/2009 If I have a dataset for these tables, how do I insert the data in the Orders table and increment the OrderNumber value correctly.

  • Subversion Proxy for working offline?

    What is the best approach for working at a customers site (with several people) where there maybe not internet access the whole time and using a subversion repository? (Migrating to Git or Mecurial is out of the question at the moment) But wouldn't it be possible to leverage something like, for instance the Git SVN Integration, to create a proxy which acts like a subversion repository for the clients and may be used at the end to synchronize the changes back to subversion? Is there already something like that available?

  • How can I avoid huge communication classes in WCF?

    My understanding is that all contract-implementing code has to be in a single class, that can become very large, obviously. How do I avoid this? I really prefer to have a few small classes doing one part of the communication with clients than a single behemoth class. The only idea I could think of is using multiple interfaces implemented by a single class split up by partial, but I don't this this is really solving the issue.

  • send socket c ctrl+c behavior

    I'm witting an application based on a server and various client but I'm having a problem with the send command. Whenever I do ctrl+c on the client side the send operation kills the thread which is in and the process running (in order to have multiple clients I set a thread to which one). If the client ends (doing the close socket) properly the server doesn't die, but when I use the ctrl+c combination on the client both exit. What can I do to prevent send commando to have this behavior? Thx in advance

  • J2EE v6 and .NET 4.0 comparison

    We are running our applications on .NET 3.5 and are planning on either updating to .NET 4.0 or switching entirely to the Java platform, J2EE v6, as we've heard from some clients that "it's better." Can anyone either explain some of the large differences between the two platforms and maybe what kind of costs would be associated with switching to Java rather than just updating, or point me to some articles or papers that make such comparisons?   • SQL Cluster on Hyper V Failover Cluster

    We have a VM running SQL Server on a 6 node cluster of blades. The VM's data files are stored a SAN attached using a direct iSCSI connection. As this SQL server will be running a number of important databases we're debating whether we should be clustering the SQL Server or will the fact that the VM is running in the cluster itself sufficient to give us high availability. I'm used to running SQL clusters when dealing with physical servers but I'm a bit sketchy on what is best practice when all the servers are just VMs sat on Hyper V. If a blade running the VM fails I presume the VM will be started up on another load. I'm guessing the only benefit that adding a SQL cluster to the setup will give us it that the recovery time after a failure will be a little quicker? Are there any other benefits?

  • Pre-compiled Iperf 2.x binary for win32?

    I'd like to do some network testing on Windows using Iperf. The latest on sourceforge appears to be 2.0.4. However, it's only available as source to be compiled. I attempted to do some google searching for a pre-compiled version, but all I could find were some links to 1.x stuff. Admittedly, the 1.x version I found does seem to work and I could likely continue using it without issue. But I've got the itch that says I need the latest version and setting up a build VM and dealing with inevitable compile issues doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. So I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows where to find pre-compiled Iperf 2.x binaries for Windows.

  • Wifi not working after a few minutes

    I'm using a few MacBooks and iPads connected to a router via WiFi. The problem is that a few minutes after they connect via WiFi the connection stops working. This happens on all devices. I went into the router settings by connecting via cable and everything seems in order. Connecting a laptop via cable to the router I can use internet as normal, the problem is only with WiFi. What can be the problem here?   • Most basic, low power home surveillance system

    I am thinking of setting up a simple but effective surveillance system for my house that is: Very low powered (preferably no PCs left running out of stand-by mode) Cheap. When motion (or sound) is detected, I would like it to: Send an email/phone alert to me Record and upload video to the web (in case they steal the camera) So I imagine a system where I leave a netbook PC in stand-by mode and have it woken up by a motion detector. This initiates software to send alerts and periodically upload recorded video to the web. The software part is easy for me, but I'm not really a gadget-man so I'd like some advice on using a motion sensor of some sort to wake up the PC. Does anyone have some good advice?     I am a graphic designer (among other things) and I'm used to doing magazine advertisements, brochures, posters and that sort of thing. Recently I was approached by a photographer who wants a graphic designer to produce wedding albums for him. I have already done a couple for him but I'm finding it hard to work by just arranging my layouts in Photoshop alone. It's very time consuming, but quite repetitive - especially when you're dealing with common page layouts. I know a lot of photographers use album design software to speed up the process a bit. What's the industry standard in terms of album design software?

  • Any screen capture software that captures webcam, microphone inputs too ?

    I am going to conduct a user study. Apart from capturing the screen while the user is interacting with the system, I also want to capture the video/audio of the user. Is there any software that in addition to capturing the screen also overlays it with the webcam/microphone inputs. The goal is to capture the complete experience of the user: key/mouse interactions with the system along with their facial/vocal responses. I know that I can maybe run a screen-capture software and also run a software for capturing webcam audio/video alongside and try to sync/overlay both these streams with timestamps. But I am going to be dealing with probably several hundred hours of data. So I am looking for a tool that can streamline the process for me amap and help me keep my sanity at end of the process.     We have 2 site that is linked by an IPSEC VPN to remote Cisco ASAs: Site 1 1.5Mb T1 Connection Cisco(1) 2841 Site 2 1.5Mb T1 Connection Cisco 2841 In addition: Site 1 has a 2nd WAN 3Mb bonded T1 Connection Cisco 5510 that connects to same LAN as Cisco(1) 2841. Basically, Remote Access (VPN) users connecting through Cisco ASA 5510 needs access to a service at the end of Site 2. This is due to the way the service is sold - Cisco 2841 routers are not under our management and it is setup to allow connection from local LAN VLAN 1 IP address 10.20.0.0/24. My idea is to have all traffic from Remote Users through Cisco ASA destined for Site 2 to go via the VPN between Site 1 and Site 2. The end result being all traffic that hits Site 2 has come via Site 1. I'm struggling to find a great deal of information on how this is setup. So, firstly, can anyone confirm that what I'm trying to achieve is possible? Secondly, can anyone help me to correct the configuration bellow or point me in the direction of an example of such a configuration?
