  I came to a situation where I need to edit the following in a way that, on some event (lets assume the 'click' event in this case) I need to remove (or unwrap?) the .container and the .header and have the .itemlist still visible/available on the page. And then, I need to restore .container and .header back again on some other event, while still maintain the event listeners on the a tags, and if possible, without removing the said items from the DOM. • MySQL searching using many 'like' operators: is there a better way?

  I have a page that gets all rows from a table in a database, then displays the rows in an HTML table. That works great, but now I want to implement a 'search' feature. There is a searchbox, and search-terms are separated by a space. I am going to make it search three fields for the search terms, 'make' 'model' and 'type.' These three fields are VARCHAR(30). Currently if I wanted to search using 3 terms (say 'cool' 'abc' and '123') my query would look something like this. SELECT * FROM table WHERE make LIKE '%cool%' OR make LIKE '%abc%' OR make LIKE '%123%' OR model LIKE '%cool%' OR model LIKE '%abc%' OR model LIKE '%123%' OR type LIKE '%cool%' OR type LIKE '%abc%' OR type LIKE '%123%' That looks really bad, and it will get even worse if there are more search terms or more fields to search. My question to you: is there a better way to search? If so, what?

• How do I use google API within perl CGI script?

  The google API example shows that you should have the javascript within the head tag but I am using perl module CGI and in there they suggest that you use "print header;" instead of writting out your headers explicitly. So if I want to use the perl CGI module and the google API javascript what is the correct way to do this? I tried writing out the header explicitly but It seemed like the perl module really wanted me to use the header method. It seems like this would be a common use case but I looked around the web for some examples of this and I could not find one. Any help would be appreciated.

• What requests do browsers' "F5" and "Ctrl + F5" refreshes generate?

  Is there a standard for what actions F5 and Ctrl+F5 trigger in web browsers? I once did experiment in IE6 and Firefox 2.x. The "F5" refresh would trigger a HTTP request sent to the server with an "If-Modified-Since" header, while "Ctrl+F5" would not have such a header. In my understanding, F5 will try to utilize cached content as much as possible, while "Ctrl+F5" is intended to abandon all cached content and just retrieve all content from the servers again. But today, I noticed that in some of the latest browsers (Chrome, IE8) it doesn't work in this way anymore. Both "F5" and "Ctrl+F5" send the "If-Modified-Since" header. So how is this supposed to work, or (if there is no standard) how do the major browsers differ in how they implement these refresh features?

• An MP3 parser to extract numbered frames?

  I am writing a streaming application for MP3 (CBR). It is all passthru, meaning I don't have to decode/encode, I just need to pass on the data as I see it come through. I want to be able to count the MP3 frames as they passthru (and some other stuff like throughput calculations). According to the MP3 frame header spec, the sync word appears to be 11 bits of 1s, however I notice (naturally) that the frame payload which I should safely assume to be binary and thus it is not odd at all to see 11 1s in sequence. My questions: Is there a Unix/Linux MP3 parser utility (dd-style) that can pull numbered frames from an MP3 file/pipe? Any perl wisdom here? How does one delineate an MP3 header block from any other binary payload data? and lastly: Is a constant bitrate (CBR) MP3 defined by payload bytes or are the header bytes included in the aggregate # of bytes/bits per any given timeslice?   i have 2 queries in vb.net with an if clause - if x=0 then insert into table1 else update table1 both queries have 5 fields. now what i want to do is after this insert or update takes place, i need to look at this inserted/updated record and compare it with another table (table2). Especially for update, i have 5 fields in both tables. if any of the 5 fields dont match with table2, then i insert a new record in table 2 which is the updated record in table 1. how can i do this?

• Creating a stored procedure in SQL Server 2008 that will do a "facebook search"

  Hello, I'm trying to implement a facebook search in my system (auto suggest while typing). I've managed to code all the ajax stuff, but I'm not sure how to query the database. I've created a table called People which contains the fields: ID, FirstName, LastName, MiddleName, Email. I've also created a FTS-index on all those fields. I want to create a stored procedure that will get as a parameter the text inserted in the query box and returns the suggestions. For example, When I will write in the textbox the query "Joh Do" It will translate to the query: select * from People where contains(*, '"Joh*"') and contains(*, '"Do*"') Is there a way to do that in stored procedure? P.S I've tried to use the syntax select * from People where contains(*,'"Joh*" and "Do*"') but it didn't returned the expected results, probably because it needs to search the words on different fields. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks.

  Hi, I'm writing a CMS in PHP that allows the user to define different fields (e.g. a Blog page could have fields for Title (string), Content (rich text), Picture (file)). I need the user to be able to add and remove fields dynamically, and the only way I can think of to do it with relational DBs is to serialise all these values and store them in one cell. This seems like a slow approach and like I'm trying to fit something dynamic within a static structure. Could someone recommend anything that is PHP-compatible that would make this easier?

  In one of the page I have is where administrators are allowed, however, I use if the session isn't set, the header will redirect them to index.php and that method works. • Cannot bind to list<T>.property or list<T>.item.property in details section of Telerik report

  I have created a Telerik report and I am setting the datasource on runtime to an object with some properties and a List. I am using the properties in the page and report header sections and i want to use the list as the details. Now the problem is binding to the List's item properties in the details section. I have played around with the expression builder and it seems that i should access the properties like this : [=Fields.myList.Item.myProperty] when i run the program i get a nice big red rectangle with the following error : An error has occured while processing TextBox 'textBox28':Common Language Runtime detected an invalid program. I have tried to change different variants of expression which also gives me other errors [=Fields.myList.myPropery] An error has occured while processing TextBox 'textBox28': The expression contains object 'myProperty' that is not defined in the current context. The closest i have gotton was with the object it self, which outputs the object.toString() [=Fields.myList]

  I am trying to design a sqlite database that will store notes. Each of these notes will have common fields like title, due date, details, priority, and completed. In addition though, I would like to add data for more specialized notes like price for shopping list items and author/publisher data for books. I also want to have a few general purpose fields that users can fill with whatever text data they want. How can I design my database table in this case? I could just have a field for each piece of data for every note, but that would waste a lot of fields and I'd like to have other options and suggestions.

  Hi, I'm trying to make a custom gridview in WPF but I just realized that as this link says: The GridViewHeaderRowPresenter class performs layout for the column headers in a GridView and places an additional column header at the end to add space and because of the additional column header at the end, there's an extra column to the right of the last column. so I was wondering if I can modify it, please refer to this image below My questions are: Is there anyway I can remove the 'A' part from the grid? I basically have a search bar that i want it to search in both of the fields in both of the tables. (the two fields being called "Name" and "Location" SO far I have $sql = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM Cottages WHERE Name LIKE '%$term%' or Location LIKE '%$term%' LIMIT 0, 30"); But this only searches the Cottages table, how can I make it search both the cottages and hotel tables?   I have a database full of simple note data, with columns for title, due date, priority, and details. There is also a _id column PRIMARY KEY int. Say I have a note in the table already with some data filled and the rest null. I also have a set of data that will fill all those fields. Is there a way that I can only write data to the fields that are NULL? I can't overwrite existing data, but I'd like to add data to NULL columns. I know the rowId of the target row. If my target row had rowId of 5, I could do something like this: UPDATE SET duedate='some date', priority='2', details='some text' WHERE _id=5 But that would overwrite all the data in that row, and I don't want to lose any data that might be there. How can I change this statement to avoid writing to non-null fields?

• Turkish characters are not displayed correctly

• Some stupid warnings

  I have a number of C source files(both .c and .h files). header files contains a number of functions. Out of those functions, only partially are used in a source .C file.Suppose a.h,b.h are header files and a.c and b.c are .c files. a.h is included in a.c. But only a number of functions those are in a. h are used and rest are not used. After compilation I find following warnings: function XXXX defined but not used. But those XXXX functions which are not used in a.c are used in b.c. So, i can't completely remove those functions too. So , i decided to make a separate file containing only those XXXX functions and included it wherever it is used.Doing this is creating multiple number of header files. Can anybody please suggest me to some effective way to solve this problem.

  I have a several models in a heirarchy, 1:many at each level. Each class is associated only with the class above it and the one below it, ie: L1 course, L2 unit, L3 unit layout, L4 layout fields, L5 table fields (not in code, but a sibling of layout fields) I am trying to build a JSON response of the entire hierarchy. def show @course = Course.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.json do @course = Course.find(params[:id]) @units = @course.units.all @unit_layouts = UnitLayout.where(:unit_id => @units) @layout_fields = LayoutField.where(:unit_layout_id => @unit_layouts) response = {:course => @course, :units => @units, :unit_layouts => @unit_layouts, :layout_fields => @layout_fields} respond_to do |format| format.json {render :json => response } end end end end The code is bring back the correct values, but the units, unit_layouts and layout_fields are all nested at the same level under course. I would like them to be nested inside their parent.

The purpose of this is that the header may be included by either C or C++ code, and must behave slightly differently depending on which. Specifically: In C, I need this to be the code: extern size_t insert (const char*); In C++, I need this to be the code: extern "C" size_t insert (const char*); Additionally, is there a way to avoid putting #ifdef's around every declaration in the header?

I am using struct like struct header { unsigned port : 16; unsigned destport : 16; unsigned not_used : 7; unsigned packet_length : 9; }; struct header HR; here this value of header i need to put in separate char array. i did memcpy(&REQUEST[0], &HR, sizeof(HR)); but value of packet_length is not appearing properly. like if i am assigning HR.packet_length = 31; i am getting -128(at fifth byte) and 15(at sixth byte). if you can help me with this or if their is more elegant way to do this. thanks
