  • How will the launcher/button work on a touch panel?

    I'm not sure if Unity has a design problem. If the Launcher is hidden you can bring it to front by moving the mouse over the home button or hit the Super Key. So far, so good. But what is on Tablet Devices with touch panel? Intuitively I would "click" in the corner to show the launcher, but a click will open the Dash. How should that work on a touch device? Do I have to "drag" my finger into the corner? Will touch devices have a "menu button"? Will there be a gesture to show the launcher?

    I have UITableView. I customized the cell height (increased). I have 4 labels(UILabel) and 1 image(UIImage) and 3 buttons (UIButton). one of the button is delete button. By touching the cell or button(play button) on the image a video is loaded and played. I need to delete the cell by touching delete button. If I touched the delete button the corresponding video is deleted from library . But, how to delete the cell and all remaining data in it ? I am not able to delete the cells or the data in the cells. How to do it ? I used these.   • How to make Facebook like button narrower than 225px?

    I'm generating a like button with Facebook's 'standard' layout for my site via https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/ . I've set its width to 200 pixels, but notice that setting it to lower than 225 pixels has no effect, and the documentation on that page indeed specifies 225px as the minimum width for the standard layout. Unfortunately I need to make it 200 pixels wide to fit my site's design. Is there any way to force it into this width? (The site's at http://gwwc2.centreforeffectivealtruism.org/ if you want to have a play with Firebug, though the like button gets generated by javascript so you'd probably have to duplicate that page and edit its source.)

    In my recent course on HCI, I've been told that start button on Windows systems is an example of poor mapping. The reason for that, as explained in materials, is that it doesn't start anything, but rather reveals a menu. I think that this is only valid if you approaching this from low level of abstraction (meaning that the button must start something). If you on the other hand take a view on this from higher level of abstraction, as of "Place where I start most of my tasks", i.e. This is the place where you are start*ing the task of switching off your computer This is the place where you are start*ing the task of searching for something on your computer This is the place where you are start*ing the task of running a program This is the place where you are start*ing the task ... Then I think it makes perfect sense and has perfect mapping. Is this a sensible interpretation?

    When I click on a photo in Vista I get a fix button: When I click on a photo in Windows 7 I don't get a fix button: I used to use this fix button often to fix red-eye and alter the brightness quickly, and the auto-saving was so fast. If I can't get "Windows Photo Viewer" to do this, I'll have to http://www.irfanview.com again to do this.

  • Why is the `remove rows` button not always present in MySQL Workbench?

    I'm using MySQL Workbench to remove rows from a table in my database. Most of the time, I will simply write a select statement, then select the rows I want to erase and use the remove rows button (circled in the screenshot below). But sometimes (quite often actually), the remove rows button does not appear. Instead, I get something like the screenshot below: The remove rows button is not there and the remove rows option is grayed out in the context menu, so basically, I can't remove rows... The only way I've found of solving this issue is to run the select query many times until the button appears (it usually does after 3 of 4 times). Does anyone know why this is happening? UPDATE Today, I've been running a select query dozens of times and the button never appears. It seems my incomprehensible workaround no longer works... Help! btw: Using a delete statement does work, though I would rather not have to write one for each row I want to remove as this happens quite frequently during development...

  • How do I make my play/pause keyboard button work correctly in iTunes 10 on Windows?

    First and foremost, I have mmKeys installed correctly. My iTunes works almost perfect while minimized to the tray. My problem is with the play/pause button on my Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000. When iTunes does not have focus (like it's minimized, or if it isn't the application I'm active in, like right now while typing this) the play pause button toggles twice. So, I'll push the pause button - and the song that is playing will pause, but a split second later will start up again. If the song is paused, and I push play, the song will immediately pause again. In order to get the key to work correctly, I must give iTunes focus, and then push the button.   • Weird system freeze. Nothing works keyboard/mouse/reset button - Ubuntu 12.04 64bits [closed]

    I have fresh PC: i5 3570K with Intel 4000 onboard ASrock Z77 Extreme4-m 8GG RAM - Adata 1333Mhz... 1TB Seagate drive 7200rpm I've also fresh systems - Ubuntu/Win7 and today there was something strange. Ubuntu twice just freezed. Everything stopped, even keyboard and mouse wasn't responding. Even RESET button didn't work. Right now memtest is running, but I'd like to know, where else can i look for cause. Can it be software fault if even reset isn't working? Only long reset pressing rebooted PC... I'm a bit confused. Or should I test components - CPU, motherboard, disk. Which logs in Ubuntu should I check to diagnose cause? EHm I had few adventures with this PC already. Shipped motherboard was broken (ASrock Z68 Extreme3) and had old bios, so I had to contact with reseller, replace it and at the end decided on Z77, but everything took 3 weeks, so I have bad feelings... Edit: Both freezes were during editing something in gedit (it can be coincidence) and after few updates today - when memtest is end I'll check what was updated

  • Problems with Windows XP Plug and Play devices, maybe relating to MSVCR71.dll

    I believe this question is unanswered as of now so I appologize if I've overlooked it. I have been having trouble some external devices with windows recently and I'm trying my darnedest to get to the bottom of it. At first, my Zero Tension USB mouse would stop working...as in the laser in the bottom of it would be on and would register movement, but the mouse on the screen wouldn't budge even an inch. At first this would happen randomly and then it would correct itself. As time went on, it became more and more frequent. At some point, the computer would make the "doo doo" sound of plugging or unplugging a USB device when the mouse stopped/started working. I dealt with it for a while and usually if I rebooted my machine, the mouse would work again for a day or two. As more time has gone on, the computer fully does not recognize the mouse AT ALL...I have another mouse that I use with the computer that works just fine and cannot seem to figure out why my Zero Tension mouse has failed. I tried plugging the Zero Tension mouse into my Mac and low and behold, it works without hesitation and never stops on me... Needless to say, I am stumped about this. I figured because I had another mouse I could deal with the loss of my fancy one for now...until my speakers stopped being recognized. I have a set of Logitec speakers that I have plugged into my sound card. Again, every now and again the audio devices would cease to be recognized by my computer, but a reboot would fix the problem. Now my speakers do not work at all with my computer and I feel like it's time to ask for help. My computer seems to be having a neural shutdown...where I can plug in devices and the computer doesn't seem to notice anything wrong, but none of the devices work. I hope this doesn't get any worse! Please help! Also, on a potentially (un)related note, when I start up my machine I get the message "This application has failed to start because Msvcp71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." in reference to qbupdate.exe I don't know if that DLL being messed up has anything to do with my mouse or speakers, but I figure it might...anyway, thanks in advance for an answer and let me know if I need to clarify anything. Let me sum up: Zero Tension Mouse gradually stopped working Logitec Speakers gradually stopped working MSVCR71.dll seems to be messed up I don't know if any of those are related but any help would be much appreciated

I tried v5.3 of the geometry package, which just added some new features; like \newgeometry. Unfortunately \newgeometry cannot be used to redefine \paperheight and \paperwidth.     If I have an array of buttons, how can I tell which button was clicked? example below var i=0 CreateButton = new function () { savebutton[i]=NewButton() i++ } every time a user runs the function a new button is generated. the first button is savebutton[0] the second is savebutton[1] and so on potentially infinity times. when later the user presses the button I want the screen to alert it's index number (or 'i'). is there any way to make this work in arrays?
