    I'm using an external bindings file when using jaxb against an XML schema. I'm mostly using the bindings file to map from the XML schema primitives to my own types.   • Can I move the order of XCode, Cocoa, and User Templates around in XCode 3.1?

    I followed the other questions on StackOverflow and made custom User Templates. Instead of replacing the factory default Cocoa class template, I have to pick a new user template. The order that is shown in XCode's New File dialog box is: iPhone templates first (great if you mostly do iphone development) Second the User templates Third the default Mac OS templates. I want my user stuff first, Mac OS templates second, and I want to bury iPhone templates in third and last place. The sort is obviously not alphabetical. And you can't drag/drop reorder. (At least not in xcode 3.1.3)? From stackoverflow

Specifically, I have come around the term "protocol" in various documentation and tutorials. In Objective-C, what exactly is a protocol ? Can it be compared to a C# interface ? Is the following declaration the same as saying "The class is implementing the protocol UITextFieldDelegate" ?   • Whats the difference between a C++ and a Cocoa Project in Xcode?

    I need to work with TagLib for my project. I've created a framework (and I tried using it as a lib) but the compiler cannot find #include < strings on compiling (No such file or Directory). I've created a test C++ project and it #includes < strings just fine. I've looked at the project settings and I cannot find a difference between them. But the standard cocoa projects obviously so not have the search path set to include C++ libraries (Or am I completely getting it wrong?). I've searched for a solution but no one else seems to have run into this problem.

  • oauth_verifier is not passed using DotNetOpenAuth's Webconsumer

    I receive back a good oauth_verifier value from the server, but it is not being passed on via the ProcessUserAuthorization call to the access_token endpoint. I'm using DotNetOpenAuth 3.3.1, and the WebConsumer implementation. The server I'm working with is using OAuth 1.0a not 1.0.1.   • Are the svn ruby bindings provided as a gem?

    I see a couple dozen gems that relate to svn, but what little documentation I can find on any of them shows that they are command-line wrappers and misc helpers. (svn-command, svn-hooks, etc.) I've seen code in the wild that does things like: require 'svn/core' and SVN.Repos.add(...), but the author of that module pulled his svn ruby tools via apt-get. This would not be an option for me, as I'm developing a windows/osx tool. Which gem am I after? From there, I'm happy to dig through code in lieu of documents, but with a call to gem query --name-matches svn --remote returning about 30 hits, I need to narrow it down a bit first.

  • .NET WinForms INotifyPropertyChanged updates all bindings when one is changed. Better way?

    In a windows forms application, a property change that triggers INotifyPropertyChanged, will result in the form reading EVERY property from my bound object, not just the property changed. (See example code below) This seems absurdly wasteful since the interface requires the name of the changing property. It is causing a lot of clocking in my app because some of the property getters require calculations to be performed. I'll likely need to implement some sort of logic in my getters to discard the unnecessary reads if there is no better way to do this. Am I missing something? Is there a better way? Don't say to use a different presentation technology please -- I am doing this on Windows Mobile (although the behavior happens on the full framework as well).   • WPF-Can a XAML object be a source as well as a target for bindings?

    I was wondering if it's possible to have a TextBlock as a target and a source? Basically I have a bunch of entities which have simple relationships to other entities (like Entity1 Knows Entity3, Entity3 WorksAt Entity2 etc.) I have a Link class that stores SourceEntity, Relationship and TargetEntity details. What I want to be able to do is to select an entity then display the relationships related to that entity, with the target entities of each relationship listed underneath the relationship names. When an entity is selected, an ObservableCollection is populated with the Links for that particular entity (SelectedEntityLinks<Link>). Because each entity could have the same relationship to more than one target entity (Entity1 could know both Entity3 and Entity4 for eg.), I've created a method GetThisRelationshipEntities() that takes a relationship name as a parameter, looks through SelectedEntityLinks for relationship names that match the parameter, and returns an ObservableCollection with the target entities of that relationship. Hope I'm making this clear. In my xaml I have a WrapPanel to display each relationship name in a TextBlock: <TextBlock x:Name="relationship" Text="{Binding Path=Relationship.Name}" /> Then underneath that another Textblock which should display the results of GetThisRelationshipEntities(String relationshipName). So I want the "relationship" TextBlock to both get its Text from the binding I've shown above, but also to provide its Text as a parameter to the GetThisRelationshipEntities() method which I've added to <UserControl.Resources> as an ObjectDataProvider.   • How to use command bindings in user controls in wpf?

    In MainWindow the commandbinding works fine. In UserControl1 it doesnt work. Note the datacontext is set correctly as is evidenced by the content of the button which is the result of a binding. I am not trying to bind the command in the usercontrol to a command in mainwindow or any other such trickery.   • How do I attach event bindings to items on a canvas using Tkinter?

    If I'm using a canvas to display data and I want the user to be able to click on various items on the canvas in order to get more information or interact with it in some way, whats the best way of going about this? Searching online I can find information about how to bind events to tags but that seems to be more indirect then what I want. I don't want to group items with tags, but rather have specific function calls when the user clicks specific items on the canvas.

  • Possible to use Bindings only for the SourceChanged event?

    Basically I want to use the WPF Binding framework to "observe" a property in the data context, and when that value changes to call an event handler. I do not actually want to bind it to any target. Sounds simple but from what I can see Binding is too coupled (to the visual tree and various other bits) to be able to use it flexibly. Any thoughts?

    Having the German Mac Keyboard Layout, it is a pain to type | as it is bound to <A-7> and it is hard for me to reach the Alt key. Thus, I'd like to do the following remapping (exchanging the binding for | and 7): imap 7 <Bar> imap <A-7> 7 The first one works, the second one does not. I have already tried all combinations with inor (no remap) but wasn't successful. Maybe I don't get the concept of remapping. Or I am missing something else.

  • New to emacs -- my key bindings are different from what is described in the tutorials. How to fix this?

    I'm using emacs v24 [GNU Emacs 24.0.94.1 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.3.20) of 2012-03-26 on meitnerium, modified by Debian] on Kubuntu 12.04. My basic problem is that emacs is not behaving the same as the tutorials I'm reading. I either need different tutorials or I need to make my emacs work as described in the tutorials. Being new to emacs and KDE, I don't know where to start because of this incongruence. My specific problem is this: When I shift-left-mouse-click, I get a buffer dialog popup. That differs from my understanding of the documenation: shift mouse-1 Draws lines, rectangles or poly-lines, erases, cuts, copies or pastes. I also want to use CUA mode. The CUA mode documents seem to indicate that shift-left-mouse-click produces: rectangle highlighting by dragging the mouse while holding down the shift key. I don't get that result either. In fact, I can't select using any modifier keys together with a drag action. Maybe this is a KDE issue. I don't know.

The AuthnRequest message is used by an SP to start a Federation SSO operation and to indicate to the IdP how the operation should be executed: How the user should be challenged at the IdP Whether or not the user should be challenged at the IdP, even if a session already exists at the IdP for this user Which NameID format should be requested in the SAML Assertion Which binding (Artifact or HTTP-POST) should be requested from the IdP to send the Assertion Which profile should be used by OIF/SP to send the AuthnRequest message Enjoy the reading! Protocols The SAML 2.0, SAML 1.1 and OpenID 2.0 protocols define different message elements and rules that allow an administrator to influence the Federation SSO flows in different manners, when the SP triggers an SSO operation: SAML 2.0 allows extensive customization via the AuthnRequest message SAML 1.1 does not allow any customization, since the specifications do not define an authentication request message OpenID 2.0 allows for some customization, mainly via the OpenID 2.0 extensions such as PAPE or UI SAML 2.0 OIF/SP allows the customization of the SAML 2.0 AuthnRequest message for the following elements: ForceAuthn: Boolean indicating whether or not the IdP should force the user for re-authentication, even if the user has still a valid session By default set to false IsPassive Boolean indicating whether or not the IdP is allowed to interact with the user as part of the Federation SSO operation. As such, there is no capability to configure OIF/SP on how to affect the start of the Federation SSO flow. OpenID 2.0 OpenID 2.0 defines several extensions that can be used by the SP/RP to affect how the Federation SSO operation will take place: OpenID request: mode: String indicating if the IdP/OP can visually interact with the user checkid_immediate does not allow the IdP/OP to interact with the user checkid_setup allows user interaction By default set to checkid_setup PAPE Extension: max_auth_age : Integer indicating in seconds the maximum amount of time since when the user authenticated at the IdP. If MaxAuthnAge is bigger that the time since when the user last authenticated at the IdP, then the user must be re-challenged. OIF/SP will set this attribute to 0 if the administrator configured ForceAuthn to true, otherwise this attribute won't be set Default missing preferred_auth_policies Contains a Federation Authentication Method Element indicating how the user should be challenged at the IdP By default missing Only specified in the OpenID request if the IdP/OP supports PAPE in XRDS, if OpenID discovery is used. UI Extension Popup mode Boolean indicating the popup mode is enabled for the Federation SSO By default missing Language Preference String containing the preferred language, set based on the browser's language preferences. By default missing Icon: Boolean indicating if the icon feature is enabled. In that case, the IdP/OP would look at the SP/RP XRDS to determine how to retrieve the icon By default missing Only specified in the OpenID request if the IdP/OP supports UI Extenstion in XRDS, if OpenID discovery is used.     I've been able to set several keybord shortcuts for a GtkTextView and a GtkTextEntry using the new css provider system. I'm finding, though, that I only seem to be able to establish keybindings for combinations including a modifier key. I want to set up something like Vim's command and visual modes. So far there's no response from the escape key or from the letter keys, even though the bindings work when I apply them to modifier-key combinations. What's especially odd is that the vim-like movement bindings above are respected when I attach them to a GtkTreeView widget for navigating the tree-view options: @binding-set gtk-vi-tree-view { bind "j" { "move-cursor" (display-lines, 1) }; /* selection down */ bind "k" { "move-cursor" (display-lines, -1) }; /* selection up */ } So it seems like there are limitations or overrides of some kind on keybindings for the TextView widget (and for the del key?), but I can't find documentation of anything like that. Are these just things that can't be done with the css providers? If so, what are my alternatives for non-modified keybindings? Thanks.

  • Has anyone managed to build php5-xapian on Ubuntu 12.04?

    As Xapian's been dropped from the Ubuntu repositories, I'm attempting to build my own .deb from the instructions here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/8855 http://beeznest.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/howto-build-your-own-binaries-of-php-xapian-bindings-for-debian/ I can only get things to progress beyond the first few seconds by leaving out 'rm debian/control', but if I do, it looks as if the Python and Ruby bindings are building and passing their versions of smoketest correctly. However, the PHP part of the build is failing with this error: /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/smoketest.php:38: include(xapian.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory FAIL: smoketest.php There's a xapian.php file in /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/php5/ but if I copy it to /home/charlie/xapian-bindings-1.2.8/php/ or change the path to it in smoketest.php, the build fails right near the start with: dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes Unfortunately I'm out of my comfort zone building from source. Anyone got any ideas? Edit post James' answer: Builds fine if I follow instructions exactly. I built it on a test VM initially, but that didn't build the PHP package as PHP itself wasn't installed. Obvious gotcha, but worth mentioning. Installing generated the following error: Setting up php5-xapian (1.2.8-1) ... Processing triggers for libapache2-mod-php5 ... dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute installed post-installation script (/var/lib/dpkg/info/libapache2-mod-php5.postinst): Permission denied ssion denied dpkg: error processing libapache2-mod-php5 (--install): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 Errors were encountered while processing: libapache2-mod-php5 It's only a script for restarting Apache. Stopping Apache before running sudo dpkg -i php5-xapian_*.deb prevents the error. Xapian now shows up in phpinfo(). Job done. Thanks.
