• Facebook Application Tab URL

  I have a facebook application that can be added to fan pages as a tab. The application requires that users are authenticated in order to use it. This can be accomplished by using requirelogin=1 in a link which is visible only to users who have NOT added the application. This part works fine. However, after the user has given my application permission from the dhtml pop up that requirelogin opens, I want the tab to reload. In order to do that, I need the full URL to be included in the link as follows: <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/PAGE_NAME/PAGE_ID?v=app_APP_ID" requirelogin=1>Authorize</a> I cannot figure out how to get the full url or, at least, the PAGE_NAME to build this url dynamically. Seems like the app should be able to know where it is without any special permissions.

• pysqlite2: ProgrammingError - You must not use 8-bit bytestrings

  I'm currently persisting filenames in a sqlite database for my own purposes. Whenever I try to insert a file that has a special character (like é etc.), it throws the following error: pysqlite2.dbapi2.ProgrammingError: You must not use 8-bit bytestrings unless you use a text_factory that can interpret 8-bit bytestrings (like text_factory = str). It is highly recommended that you instead just switch your application to Unicode strings. When I do "switch my application over to Unicode strings" by wrapping the value sent to pysqlite with the unicode method like: unicode(filename), it throws this error: UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 66: ordinal not in range(128) Is there something I can do to get rid of this? Modifying all of my files to conform isn't an option.

• Preview label written in Eltron Programming Language EPL?

  I have code produced by our proprietry system in the Eltron Programming Language: This is sent to Eltron/Zebra label printers to be printed. Is there some kind of software that would allow me to interpret this code to do some form of 'print preview'? I am considering developing a way to convert this into an image or even postscript pdf, but I am struggling with how to do the barcodes (the lines starting in B is for barcodes). • Finding edge and corner values of an image in matlab

  Hi, this problem links to two other questions i've asked on here. I am tracing the outline of an image and plotting this to a dxf file. I would like to use the bwboundaries function to find the coordinates of the edges of the image, find the corner coordinates using the cornermetric function and then remove any edge coordinates that are not a corner. The important thing I need to be able to do is keep the order of the corner elements obtained from bwboundaries, so that the section traces properly. The dxf function I have that draws from the coordinates draws lines between coordinates that are next to each other, so the line has to be drawn "around" the section rather than straight between the corner points. The reason I am doing this is because there are less coordinates obtained this way, so it is easier to amend the dxf file (as there are less points to manipulate). • Linking LAPACK/BLAS libraries

  Background: I am working on a project written in a mix of C and Fortran 77 and now need to link the LAPACK/BLAS libraries to the project (all in a Linux environment). The LAPACK in question is version 3.2.1 (including BLAS) from netlib.org. The libraries were compiled using the top level Makefile (make lapacklib and make blaslib). Problem: During linking, error messages claimed that certain (not all) BLAS-routines called from LAPACK-routines were undefined. This gave me some headache but the problem was eventually solved when (in the Makefile) the order of appearance of the libraries to be linked was changed. Code: In the following, (a) gives errors while (b) does not. The linking is performed by (c). (a) LIBS = $(LAPACK)/blas_LINUX.a $(LAPACK)/lapack_LINUX.a (b) LIBS = $(LAPACK)/lapack_LINUX.a $(LAPACK)/blas_LINUX.a (c) gcc -Wall -O -o $@ project.o project.a $(LIBS) Question: What could be the reason for the undefined references of only some routines and what makes the order of appearance relevant?

• Rack rSpec Controller Tests with Rack Middleware issue

  Howdy, I'm having big trouble testing with rSpec's controller API. Right now I'm using a middleware authentication solution (Warden), and when I run the specs, the proxy added by the middleware is not there, and all the authentication tests are throwing NilPointerExceptions all over the place. It seems rSpec is not adding the middleware to the final app on purpose, and I would like to know if there is a way to monkey patch rSpec in order to make that go. I already tested the whole thing with cucumber, however this is a refactoring of an old authentication version and there is several Controller tests that depend on authentication logic in order to work. • Replacement relevance sorting for MySQL fulltext in InnoDB tables?

  I am using MySQL InnoDB and want to do fulltext style searches on certain columns. What is the best way of sorting the results in order of relevance? I am trying to do something like: SELECT columns, (LENGTH(column_name) - LENGTH(REPLACE(column_name, '%searchterm%', ''))) AS score FROM table WHERE column_name LIKE '%searchterm%' ORDER BY score However this will become quite complicated once I start searching more than 1 column or using more than one keyword. I already have several joins happening so have simplified the query above. Can anyone suggest a better way? I don't want to use any 3rd party software like Sphinx etc

• problem with my texture coordinates on a square.

  Im very new to OpenGL ES, and have been doing a tutorial to build a square. The square is made, and now im trying to map a 256 by 256 image onto it. The problem is, im only seeing a very zoomed in portion of this bitmap; Im fairly certain my texture coords are whats wrong here.   I've been searching around trying to find an answer to this question, and I can't seem to track it down. Maybe it's too late in the evening to figure the answer out, so I turn to the excellent readers here. I have the following bit of JSON data that I am pulling out of a CouchDB record: "{\"description\":\"fdsafsa\",\"order\":\"1\",\"place\":\"22 Plainsman Rd, Mississauga, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.5969175,\"lng\":-79.7248744,\"locationDate\":\"03/24/2010\"},{\"description\":\"sadfdsa\",\"order\":\"2\",\"place\":\"50 Dawnridge Trail, Brampton, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.7304774,\"lng\":-79.8055435,\"locationDate\":\"03/26/2010\"}," This data is stored inside a Python dict under the key 'locations' in a dict called 'my_plan'. I want to covert this data from CouchDB into a Python dict so I can do the following in a Django template: {% for location in my_plan.locations %} <tr> <td>{{ location.place }}</td> <td>{{ location.locationDate }}</td> </tr> {% endfor %} I've found lots of info on converting dicts to JSON, but nothing on going back the other way Thanks in advance for the help!

• Configuring Unity with a closed generic constructor parmater

  I've been trying to read the article here but I still can't understand it. I have a constructor resembling the following: IOrderStore orders = new OrderStore(new Repository<Order>(new OrdersDataContext())); The constructor for OrderStore: public OrderStore(IRepository<Order> orderRepository) Constructor for Repository<T>: public Repository(DataContext dataContext) How do I set this up in the Unity config file? UPDATE: I've spent the last few hours banging my head against this, and although I'm not really any closer to getting it right I think at least I can be a little more specific about the problem. I've got my IRespository<T> working ok: <typeAlias alias="IRepository" type="MyAssembly.IRepository`1, MyAssembly" /> <typeAlias alias="Repository" type="MyAssembly.Repository`1, MyAssembly" /> <typeAlias alias="OrdersDataContext" type="MyAssembly.OrdersDataContext, MyAssembly" /> <types> <type type="OrdersDataContext"> <typeConfig> <constructor /> <!-- ensures paramaterless constructor used --> </typeConfig> </type> <type type="IRepository" mapTo="Repository"> <typeConfig> <constructor> <param name="dataContext" parameterType="OrdersDataContext"> <dependency /> </param> </constructor> </typeConfig> </type> </types> So now I can get an IRepository like so: IRepository rep = _container.Resolve(); and that all works fine. The error message is OrderStore does not have a constructor that takes the parameters (IRepository`1). What I think this is complaining about is because the OrderStore constructor takes a closed IRepository generic type, ie OrderStore(IRepository<Order>) and not OrderStore(IRepository<T>) I don't have any idea how to resolve this.

• Download HTML and Images with WGet without first few lines

  I'm attempting to use wget with the -p option to download specific documents and the images linked in the HTML. The problem is, the site that is hosting the HTML has some non-html information preceding the HTML. This is causing wget to not interpret the document as HTML and doesn't search for images. Is there a way to have wget strip the first X lines and/or force searching for images?   In Spring MVC 2.5 with Jetty - probably with any servlet container -, I want to redirect to an external site using RedirectView via the magic "redirect:" prefix for the view name in ModelAndView. Unfortunately, RedirectView uses response.encodeURL(), so my (otherwiese wanted) session id is appended to the URL. It is not only a security risk to carry the session id to the external site, the ";jsessionid=gagnbaba" string may also be interpreted as part of the ContextPath/PathInfo on the other site, resulting in a bad URL. Any "springish" options other than implement my own ExternalRedirectView... and also hack the ViewResolver to interpret a "externalRedirect:" prefix? (Requiring cookies is not an option.) Moritz

Apologies for the crap naming - I've been asked to not reveal the actual table names. The reason there is a sub select is because the outer select gets one row from the table a and it gets a row from table b. But also need to know the latest author_id from table b as well, so I run a subselect to return that one. I don't want to run another select inside a php loop - as that is also inefficient. It works correctly - I just need to find a much faster way of getting this data set.

  I have a database of users where they can send messages to other users (up to four) and the ID of the message they sent is in their user row. e.g. Name, Email, Msg1, Msg2, Msg3, Msg4 Pez, [email protected], 1, 55, 42, 5 //Send 4 messages Steve, [email protected], 0, 0, 0, 0 //Send 0 messages Leon, [email protected], 3, 0, 3, 5 //Send 3 messages How in a MySQL query can I get the amount of those message rows that are not empty or not equal to 0, allowing me to order by that? • Oracle SELECT TOP 10 records

  Hi, i have an big problem with an SQL Statement in Oracle. I want to select The TOP 10 Records ordered by STORAGE_DB wich arent in a list from an other select statement. This one works fine for all records: SELECT DISTINCT APP_ID, NAME, STORAGE_GB, HISTORY_CREATED, TO_CHAR(HISTORY_DATE, 'DD.MM.YYYY') AS HISTORY_DATE FROM HISTORY WHERE STORAGE_GB IS NOT NULL AND APP_ID NOT IN (SELECT APP_ID FROM HISTORY WHERE TO_CHAR(HISTORY_DATE, 'DD.MM.YYYY') = '06.02.2009') But when i am adding AND ROWNUM <= 10 ORDER BY STORAGE_GB DESC im getting some kind of "random" Records. I think because the limit takes in place before the order. Does someone has an good solution? The other problem: This query is realy slow (10k+ records)

• How to use VisualStyleRenderer in Windows 7?

  In a small project of mine I've came across the need of a collapsible group box. Searching the Net, I've found one here. In one of the comments there's an improvement on the original code that uses the VisualStyleRenderer class in order to acquire the TreeView open and closed glyph. Running the code it draws properly the Plus and Minus sing as Windows XP would draw it, however in Windows Vista and Windows 7 the glyph for open and closed nodes are small triangles. What kind of interface, class or PInvoke, I need to use in order to acquire the right glyph?
