  • App not shown in 2.1 Market

    - by an
I published several free and paid app in the Market. I recently get several complains from customers about not finding my app in the 2.1 Market. Even if they have bought them before, they can't find it in the market or their download list after updating to 2.1. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? My apps only require minimal SDK 3.. Thanks a lot!! Update: It looks like that they are not shown because they have copy protection enabled. Is this a bug in the Market?

  • Good way to make Authentication and Authorization information available between application layers

    - by DutrowLLC
I have a web application running on Google App Engine (GAE) for JAVA. I'm authenticating the client at the Servlet layer but would like to make the client information available to my business and data layers without having to pass the client object through the arguments of every single function. I'm considering setting up a "session" type object using ThreadLocal. That way any function can just say something like: CurrentUser.getRoles(); Is this a good way to do this or is there something else that is a more accepted solution? Thanks!

  • Hiding monitor from windows, working with it from my app only [closed]

    - by Mikhail
I need to use a monitor as a "private" device for my special application, I want to use it as a flashlight of a sort and draw special patterns on it in full screen. I don't want this monitor to be recognized by OS (Windows 7) as a monitor. I.e. user should not be able to move mouse to that monitor, or change its resolution, or run screensaver on it or whatever. But I want to be able to interact with it from my application. Monitor is plugged using an HDMI cable to a video card (most probably nVidia). What is the simplest way to do this? All solutions are appreciated, including purchasing additional adapters or simple video cards, or any other special devices.

  • Core-Data Can't pass managedObjectContext from app delegate to view controller

    - by yahuie
I'm making a core-data application that is view based. I can create the managedObjectContext and 'use' it in the app delegate, but can not pass it to the mainviewcontroller. Probably something simple, but I can't find the problem after looking for quite a while. The managedObjectModel is nil in the mainviewcontroller. The log and error is here: 2010-06-02 11:01:10.504 TestCoreData[404:207] Could not make MOC in MainViewController implementation. 2010-06-02 11:01:10.505 TestCoreData[404:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '+entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'Shelf'' 2010-06-02 11:01:10.506 TestCoreData[404:207] Stack: ( 30864475, 2452296969, 28852395, 12038, 3217218, 10258, 2700679, 2738614, 2726708, 2709119, 2736225, 38960473, 30649216, 30645320, 2702869, 2740143, 9704, 9558 ) (gdb) Code for app delegate here: -(BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { MainViewController *aController = [[MainViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MainView" bundle:nil]; self.mainViewController = aController; [aController release]; NSLog(@"before did finish launching"); if (self.managedObjectContext == nil) { NSLog(@"Could not make MOC in TestCoreDataAppDelegate implementation."); } //Just to see if I can access the here. • Iphone & Web App synch

    - by Jack Welsh
I am trying to build an Iphone App client for our CRM solution so our sales people would be able to access the information available in our CRM through an Iphone App. I am trying to find out what is the recommended approach to architect the application when it comes to the database. I am not sure where should the data reside, should I save a subset of the data on the iPhone, or should I just rely on webservices and pull the information I need from the database whenever I need it. Also, is there any best practices or frameworks to build such applications on the Iphone.

  • How to handle security constraints using GWT 2.1's RequestFactory?

    - by Marc
I am currently developing a GWT 2.1 application that is to be deployed on Google App Engine. I would like to realise the server communication using the new RequestFactory. Now my question is how to handle fine-grained security issues in this context? Some server actions (of those declared in the RequestContext stubs) shall be restricted to certain users (possibly depending on the parameters of the remote call). If a call is unauthorised, I would like the client to show a login page (so that one may log in as a different user, for example). From the Expenses example, I know how to implement an automatic redirection to a login page, but in this example, the security model is quite simple: A client is allowed to access the servlet if and only if a user is logged in. Shall I raise a custom UnAuthorizedException in my server-side service? Where should I intercept this exception? (Can I do this in a servlet filter like the GaeAuthFilter of the Expenses example?)

  • Delete files from blobstore using file serving URL

    - by Arturo
In my app (GWT on GAE) we are storing on our database the serving URL that is stored on blobstore. When user selects one of these files and clicks "delete", we need to delete the file from blobstore. This is our code, but it is not deleting the file at all: public void remove(String fileURL) { BlobstoreService blobstoreService = BlobstoreServiceFactory.getBlobstoreService(); String key = getBlobKeyFromURL(box.getImageURL()); BlobKey blobKey = new BlobKey(key); blobstoreService.delete(blobKey); } Where fileURL looks like this: http://lh6.ggpht.com/d5VC0ywISACeJRiC3zkzaZug-tPsaI_LGt93-e_ATGTCwnGLao4yTWjLVppQ And getBlobKeyFromURL() would return what is after the last "/", in this example: d5VC0ywISACeJRiC3zkzaZug-tPsaI_LGt93-e_ATGTCwnGLao4yTWjLVppQ Could you please advice? Thanks

  • Using powershell call native command-line app and capture STDERR

    - by crtracy
I'm using a port of a cygwin tool on Windows which writes normal status messages to STRERR. This produces ugly output when run from PowerShell: PS> dos2unix.exe -n StartApp.sh StartApp_fixed.sh dos2unix.exe : dos2unix: converting file StartEC3.sh to file StartEC3_fixed.sh in UNIX format ... At line:1 char:13 + dos2unix.exe <<<< -n StartApp.sh StartApp_fixed.sh + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (dos2unix: conve...UNIX format ...:String) [], RemoteException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : NativeCommandError Is there a better way? P.S. I intend to post one solution I've found and compare it to answers from others.

  • How do I fix "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" error during Win X

    - by CT
I just bought a nettop. It came with WinXP Home. I first installed Win 7 on it. I wasn't that happy with the performance so I decided to go back to XP. I am using an external dvd drive and a Win XP Pro disc. I boot from the dvd drive and during the install get this error: Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3. Hello! I'm using google appengine and Django. I'm using de djangoforms module and wanted to specify the form instance with the information that comes from the query below. userquery = db.GqlQuery("SELECT * FROM User WHERE googleaccount = :1", users.get_current_user()) form = forms.AccountForm(data=request.POST or None, instance=?????) • Add single sign-on into existing web app

    - by EvilDr
Apologies if this isn't the best site, I've search for an answer but can't find anything quite right. I don't actually now the correct terminology I should be using here, so any pointers will be appreciated. I have a web application that accessed by many different users across different organisations. Access is provided by each user having a unique username/password which is stored in SQL (database fields are customerID, userID, username). Some organisations are now asking if we can change this to allow "Active Directory single sign-on" so that users don't need to remember yet another set of login details. From research I can see how this is achieved using OpenAuth and Google (etc), but I know hardly anything about AD and can't find much information on this (again I'm sure it helps when you know the terminology). Is this request even possible to achieve, given that most users will be from different (and unrelated) organisations? I saw on a Microsoft Build video not long ago that there is some kind of replication service for AD to allow Cloud authentication. Is this what I should be aiming for?

  • facebook app using fbml displays nothing

    - by fusion
    i've made an app in php and html and trying to integrate it with fb. the app on my website is using jquery, but knowing that fbml doesn't support jquery, i've tried to instead use fbjqry. this doesn't work either. i'm not sure where i'm going wrong. /////////////// index.php: <?php // Copyright 2007 Facebook Corp. All Rights Reserved. require_once 'config_fb.php'; //***** Greet the currently logged-in user! echo "<p>Hello, <fb:name uid=\"$user_id\" useyou=\"false\" />!</p>"; include 'quote.html'; ?> ///////////////// quote.html: <!DOCTYPE html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/jquote.css" /> <!--<script type="text/javascript" src="scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js"></script>--> <script type="text/javascript" src="fbjqry/utility.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="fbjqry/fjqry.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> // On page load, fill the box with content. $(document).ready(function() { $("#quoteContainer").load("quote.php"); }); var auto_refresh = setInterval( function () { $('#quoteContainer').load('quote.php'); }, 5000); // refresh every 10000 milliseconds </script> </head> <div id="wrapper"> <div class="header">&nbsp;Quote of the Day</div> <div id="quoteContainer"> </div> </div> </html> //// from the above file it should take quotes from quote.php and display it, but it doesn't display anything. it seems as though it isn't reading from the quote.php file. is the command of fbjqry different from jquery? if i use iframes instead of fbml, everything loads correctly except that i'd like tab/profile box for this app, which iframes doesn't have.

  • Second level cache for java web app and its alternatives

    - by EugeneP
Between the transitions of the web app I use a Session object to save my objects in. I've heard there's a program called memcached but there's no compiled version of it on the site, besides some people think there are real disadvantages of it. Now I wanna ask you. What are alternatives, pros and cons of different approaches? Is memcached painpul for sysadmins to install? Is it difficult to embed it to the existing infrastructure from the perspective of a sysadmin? What about using a database to hold temporary data between web app transitions? Is it a normal practice?

  • Tabbed javascript widget for a Rails app

    - by neilc
A user registers on our Rails app and they're given javascript to embed a widget in their website. The widget has a tabbed interface, like the JQuery tabs http://stilbuero.de/jquery/tabs_3/. iFrames have been tested, but the widget form factor and cross-domain policy negates the use of iframes. The widget is very dynamic and will often update the DOM with new content - and because of cross-domain policy, it looks as though JSONP is necessary. I understand that 'widget.js.erb' needs to create the widget layout, reference a stylesheet, render the tabs, etc - but once a tab is clicked, how does the widget request the content from the Rails app and render it in the DOM?

  • RoR app running on mongrel development but not production

    - by ANaimi
Hello all, This is my first stab at Ruby on Rails. Just deployed a very simple app to Heroku. The thing is that my app runs flawlessly on mongrel development; When I run it with "mongrel_rails start -e production" however, I get the error "We're sorry, but something went wrong." For the life of me, I couldn't debug this. Heroku logs is not returning anything, the Exceptional addon in Heroku is not returning anything, and I cannot find mongrel.log on my Windows machine (when I run mongrel using: mongrel_rails start -e production -d" I'm using Rails 2.3.5 and sqlite3 with bundler to pack my gems. I was told that probably rails is not booting up correctly. I can't find any other way to diagnose this. Any ideas? Thanks, ANaimi

  • Windows 8 Native App in Asp.net MVC?

    - by xiao
I was not sure if this should be here or stackoverflow. I am looking at developing some windows 8 apps. I come from a web background and was really intrigued that you make them with html and javascript. I started to think though why can't you use asp.net mvc to build a windows 8 application. My question is can you somehow use asp.net mvc to build a native windows 8 application or are you suck with javascript and html?

  • App crashes when adding array data to table cells

    - by bassmandan
I am trying to create a table view that loads a number of tweets into the table (one per cell etc). I am using NSXMLParser to get the information and have got as far as creating an array with the selection of tweets that I want. However, when I try to add them to the table cells, the app crashes on the line: cell.textLabel.text = cellValue; An NSLog before this shows in the console that the app is getting the correct data, so I am a bit stumped as to why this isn't working. This is the block of code that appears to be having the problem: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; } // Set up the cell... NSString *cellValue = [statuses objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; NSLog(@"%@", cellValue); cell.textLabel.text = cellValue; return cell;} If it makes a difference, I am using ARC and the latest version of XCode. I'm still quite new to all this, so if I need to give some extra information, let me know. Thanks in advance. • Looking for app to work fluidly with CSV data in graph form

    - by Aszurom
It often occurs to me that if I had a good tool for viewing CSV data in graphical format, and comparing two sets of numbers to each other, I could do a great deal of meaningful trend watching and data interpretation. For example, perfmon can output quite a lot of data about a server into a CSV file, but there's no good way to view it. A lot of scripts could/have been written that would populate CSV files. I could write these all day long. My problem is that I need a great viewer. I've seen quite a few things that will take a CSV file and after a lot of tweaking and user adjustment produce a static gif/png image. A static image doesn't do me a lot of good, because I have to look at it, then re-calibrate the parameters of the program, regenerate the image, repeat. That sucks. I could do this in Excel. Ideally, I would want a FLUID graph viewer. On the fly, I can adjust how much of my timeline I'm viewing. I could adjust the scaling so that one big spike doesn't make 99.9% of the data an unreadable line across the bottom of the X axis. Stuff like that. I should be able to say "show me CSV column 3 and column 5 as graphs. Show me the data scaled for 20 or 150 entries, and let me slide that window up and down the column of data. Auto scale to fit 95% of data within the Y axis and let crazy spikes go off the screen." Maybe I'm terribly spoiled by how you can drag, zoom, and slide data around on my iPad. I want to be able to view a spreadsheet of data with that fluidity and not have to guess at what sort of static snapshot I want to create from it. I don't want to have to make a study of how to tweak some data plotting program to let me import my file and do what I could just do in Excel. I want to scale, zoom, and transform my graph on the fly and then export a snapshot of it once I have it the way I want it. Is there anything out there that fills this need? I'll take linux, osx, win32 or even iOS suggestions.
