  • Mysql server fails to start

    Googling since two hours, I require your assistance. I'm on a Debian virtual machine and I cloned it. The only change is the new IP adress it has. Mysql doesn't start any more: Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed! There is no process called mysql.   • Mac OS X Terminal not logging in

    I am running Mac OS X version 10.6.3 and when I open the terminal (with terminal.app or iterm) it just hangs on the login process. I've tried restarting, changing the startup command to /bin/bash, and deleting the terminal preference file. All to no avail.

  • Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Server - RemoteApp - Option "Start in" available?

    we have set up a Windows 2008 R2 Terminal Server. On this server, we want to run an application which needs another path for the option "Start in" than the application itself. In a shortcut, this is no problem (for example, the "Target" is C:\app\bin\application.exe and the "Start in:" is C:\app\users\user1). But I have no option for "Start in" when I configure the RemoteApp so the application fails to start. Is there any possibility? Thank you in advance Frank

  • Setting up Apache and PHP on Mac OS X Snow Leopard

    I've recently purchased an Apple iMac. Unfortunately, enabling Apache and PHP has thrown up some problems. I enabled Mac's built-in Web Sharing through System Preferences, at which point I got an output and could add HTML files to my user directory. However, PHP files were being displayed rather than interpreted. I then discovered this is because PHP isn't enabled by default on Mac's Apache set-up. Admittedly, I don't understand what the above did; I just thought it looked like a Terminal command and tried it. I have no experience in setting up Apache on Mac OS X (and I've only installed XAMPP and WampServer on Windows). So any points on reversing the aforementioned, and then successfully enabling PHP would be great. EDIT: I've discovered, via Console, the following error message is being recorded when trying to browse to 127.0.0.1... (org.apache.httpd) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds no listening sockets available, shutting down Unable to open logs (org.apache.httpd[13453]) Exited with exit code: 1 Does this point any more to the issue?     Dears, i have successfully installed CouchDB 0.11 on Ubuntu 10.04 based on the Installation instruction in couchdb wiki for ubuntu 10.04. with appending " --bindir=/usr/bin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc" in ./configure and CouchDB Running successfully and got " {"couchdb":"Welcome","version":"0.11.0"}" But the Test Suite is not running successfully, with being freeze in the first task "basic". any support to solve that and making the Test Suite running smoothly on Ubuntu 10.04.

    I'm trying to set some env variable in OS X 10.6 (/etc/launchd.conf) setenv M2_HOME /usr/share/maven setenv M2 $M2_HOME/bin setenv MAVEN_OPTS '-Xms256m -Xmx512m' M2 and MAVEN_OPTS are not working. I tried with something like setenv MAVEN_OPTS -Xms256m\ -Xmx512m but still it doesn't work. Any idea of what is the correct synthax? Thanks

If i access any url besides .zmedia.com , I got proxy connection refused. But the url_regex is not working. What i am trying here is.   • TomCat starts, but does not load properly

I got apache to load up just fine, but tomcat is proving to be difficult. It appears to start and load just fine, but when it comes to loading our application, its just got stuck for 2-5 minutes and then shut down. I can add new control groups, and assign processes to them however there does not seem to be a facility for changing the paramters of the root level memory cgroup ( the actual mount point ). How would one best set such parameters in a clean manner withoput c For example, I've the memory cgroup mounted to /var/run/cgroup/memory. I'd like to have /var/run/cgroup/memory/memory.use_hierarchy set to 1 on boot.

(due to missing arch) then a blue dialog box appears with OK (Which is not clickable and pressing enter is not workin.) EDIT sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo aptitude clean sudo aptitude update sudo aptitude dist-upgrade sudo aptitude install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts Tried this but still not working... same problem.
