  I think that my mup.sys file is corrupt. I received the following error when trying to access a network share that was located on my Windows 7 box, from my Windows XP box: No network provider accepted the given network path. After reading this I attempted to follow the directions by rebooting my computer into safe mode. After I run "sfc /scannow" I receive the following error message: The specific error code is 0x000006ba [The RPC server is unavailable]. When I go into Services, it says that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running but that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator is not running. When I try to start the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator, it gives me an error saying: Error 1084: This service cannot be started in Safe Mode What can I do about this? If it can't find the Remote Procedure Call service in safe mode?

I've installed passenger 3.0.7 via RubyGems. I've run passenger-install-apache2-module and everything went fine. I've modified configuration (load module, edit virtualhost etc.) and restarted Apache. Module is loading fine (apache does not complain). But Passenger is obviously not working: sudo passenger-status ERROR: Phusion Passenger doesn't seem to be running. How can I get it working ?   I've got a small SCCM 2012 deployment with about 35 clients attached. Most of these clients are in the same network as the single SCCM host, but three are about 1000 miles away. Oddly, these three clients have stopped being able to download some application packages over BITS. Publishing a new package works for all the other clients, but for these three it never seems to download. If I go to the software centre, it just hangs at "0% downloaded".   I've spent the last couple of days trying to install windows xp from a cd onto my desktop. The installtion is successful, and I can activate windows, but cannot run windows update. The error I receive from windows update is: Error number: 0x80240036 I understand that after april 2014 microsoft is no longer developing new patches, but I have presumed that customers would continue to have access to all the patches that where made up to this date. How can I install these patches? Is this possible? As mentioned, I can install windows and activate, but cannot run windowsupdate (Error number: 0x80240036). Seperately, there is an error with a windows explorer pull down menu (item) that asks: Is this copy of windows legal? How can I get rid of this message? I am not running a pirated, or illegal copy of windows and this message should not be there. I want continue running windows xp without windows update, but I need to get rid of this windows explorer error message.

• MailMan error logging in Apache

  I am working on a MailMan implementation using Fedora 12. I have it set up and running but I was looking at what happens if someone tries to brute force a password on the web GUI and found that MailMan doesn't log these errors at all or I'm completely looking in the wrong place. I have tried both /var/log/httpd and /var/log/mailman and didn't see any authentication errors. I have also tried bumping up the Apache log level and still didn't see anything. I was wondering if there was a way to turn this type of logging on or if there was any other way to be notified about it. Thanks.

• Apache start failing after apache config modifications, showing syntax error, cannot load php5apache2_2.dll into server

  I am stuck again with apache setup guys. I am working on a Windows 7 system. I copied the working php5 installation directory from teammates, copied the necessary .dll files from inside php5 installation folder (like they were in the working setup of teammates) to my windows/system32/. Apache server started successfully with the default apache config file. I was able to access localhost in browser. But php code was not parsing. I noticed no such line like the following in the apache config file:- # PHP5 module LoadModule php5_module D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll If I add this line, apache server start fails. Running test configuration gives the following error - httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 60 of C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll into server: The specified procedure could not be found. But the dll file is there in the specified location and I have given all permissions to the current system user to the php5 installation directory. The same line also appears in the apache error log, though I am not sure when exactly logs are written to the log file. I am confused if log entries are not made if I have opened the log file for reading? lol ... because I could not observe a pattern in when entries are made. I saw some log entries being made, some not. Oh, why is apache setup such a headache always????

  proftpd: pam_ecryptfs: Error getting passwd info for user [USERNAME] I am getting this error in the syslog nearly every time any user connects via FTP, the user is able to connect and the session seems to continue without a hitch. ProFTPD.log shows no error, this warning only show in the syslog. My VPS is running Ubuntu 11.10 and Proftpd 1.3.4rc2 from the Ubuntu Repo, I have made only a few changes to the config (no weird auth methods). This has been going on for quite a while but I can't quite find the cause. Anyone got any ideas? EDIT: been looking around but all I can find with this error is the source code for the program itself; it appears to be and error in ecryptfs-utils that only proftpd is triggering.

  I'm using wpkg to auto install Microsoft security essentials on WinXP. At the first login after the installer finishes I get an error message as msseces.exe starts. After a reboot the message goes away. The error message indicates a random access restriction. "An error has occured in the program. Try to open it again. If this problem continues, you'll need to reinstall Microsoft Security Essentials from the Microsoft Download Center. Error code: 0x80070005" Firstly: Does anyone know why I get this error message? Second: How do I debug this kind of problems? The event log doesn't seem to contain anything useful. Is there a tool to detect and list denied system calls?

The database works fine, it can stay many days without any error, but when MySQL receives a huge amount of transactions, it dies immediately.   I am making a poll system with PHP/MySQL and have made created a MySQL user for the system to use. However, whenever I try to run a query from PHP as that user, I get error code 63, which after some Googleing I found out means: OS error code 63: Out of streams resources If I make the PHP script use an almighty user instead, everything works fine, so it looks like it has something to do with permissions. I am using a non-persistent connection. I have Googled a lot but I haven't found anything even slightly relevant to this issue. What could cause this error? EDIT: Now it actually started giving me a different error: OS error code 65: Package not installed ...all I did was revert the script to using the poll user instead of the almighty one.

• Kaspersky processing error Explorer.exe (recycle bin)

  I get daily critical errors from Kaspersky involving Explorer.exe... The file in question is almost always in the Recycle Bin, or something on the desktop. Here is an example error detail: Event type: Processing error Application\Name: EXPLORER.EXE Application\Path: C:\WINDOWS\ Application\Process ID: 2364 Application\Options: C:\windows\Explorer.EXE Component: File Anti-Virus Result\Description: Processing error Object: C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1403139956-787289773-2644151291-500\$RIKKQKS Object\Type: File Object\Path: C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1403139956-787289773-2644151291-500\ Object\Name: $RIKKQKS Reason: Read error Google searches didn't offer much insight, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone has encountered a similar situation. Not sure if it's a bug, something to be concerned about, or an easy fix, etc. I usually just empty the recycle bin for a temporary fix, but would like to get to the root of the error. Thoughts?

• PHPMyAdmin - Error 500

  Have scoured the board but can't seem to find anything that's helped yet. If I go to http://localhost/ it's fine, if I go to http://localhost/phpmyadmin I get an 'Error 500: Internal Server Error' There doesn't seem to be anything that'll show up in the log files either. I've tried the RewriteLog as mentioned in PHPMyAdmin 500 Internal Server Error - But that doesn't really seem to help either, nothing gets written to it when I've got: # Logfiles ErrorLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/error.log CustomLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/access.log combined RewriteLog /home/www/beta.**.com/logs/rewrite.log RewriteLogLevel 9 I've tried uninstalling the package and re-installing it, but that's not helped either. Anyone got any other suggestions? I'm running Debian and Apache 2.

• Error "iertutil.dll not found" after installing IE8

  I rolled out IE8 to a group of test users in our organisation overnight, and after logging in in the morning, several of the users reported the error Userinit.exe error and explorer.exe error - iertutil.dll not found After clicking OK, the PC just hangs with the background visible. A few people are reporting this error in various forums, but "do a system restore" is not a good solution. We can easily roll back to IE6 by replacing the DLL, or by uninstalling IE8. We just need a flawless rollout! We're on Windows XP Service Pack 3. Edit: We deploy via SMS. Initially we had 2 machines with the error, but somebody made a mistake with the test package and it rolled out five nights in a row. By the end of the five nights, 4 more machines had developed the same issue.

• PhpMyAdmin Hangs On MySQL Error

  I'm currently running PhpMyAdmin 4.0.10 (the latest version supporting PHP 4.2.X) on my Amazon EC2 connecting to a MySQL database on RDS. Everything works perfectly fine except actions that return a mysql error message. Whether I perform "any" kind of action that will return a mysql error, Phpmyadmin will hang with the yellow "Loading" box forever without displaying anything. For example, if I perform the following command in MySQL CLI : select * from 123; It instantly returns the following error : ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '123' at line 1 which is completely normal because table 123 doesn't exist. However, if I execute the exact same command in the "SQL" box in Phpmyadmin, after I click "Go" it'll display "Loading" and stops there forever. Has anyone ever encountered this kind of issue with Phpmyadmin? Is this a bug or I have something wrong with my config.inc.php? Any help would be much appreciated.
