  • How to highlight clicks in app widget?

    Hi everyone, I have an app widget which runs neatly. However, I am unable to highlight a click on a linked item. I've seen it in the standard app widgets like 'Music' and 'Power Control', for instance. Moreover, I've also been studying the Music app widget's source at album_appwidget.xml. The only thing I could think of is the LinearLayout defined at lines 23-35 which states android:clickable="true" Unfortunately, this does not work for me. So does anyone have a hint on how to highlight a click on an app widget? I've tried the LinearLayout, TextView and Button. None of them displayed a border as a highlight. Thanks in advance, Steff

  • Free internet radio station server software with remote broadcasting?

    I am in the process of creating an internet radio station, but the two djs I have for it are not able to be in one place. I need for them to be able to login to a web based broadcasting session that still has full functionality. They need to be able to broadcast thier live shows with talk and music. The music will be stroed on the server. I have checked out the Broadwave media streaming server from NCH, but ti does not have the ability to login as a dj from a remote computer. I don't have any money for this, so I need it to be free. If this is not possible, I need it to be cheap!

  • calling a function or communicating from one browser window to another using Jquery / javascript

    Hello, I am designing a web site that plays music. The music player itself will be in a separate window along with the now playing list. I want to be able to refresh the now playing list when a new song is added to it from the main window. Essentially I need to figure out how to communicate between the two windows. I was only able to find one plugin on line that defines the player page as a child of the main page but then this reference would be lost after the parent page i.e my main page was refreshed. So this was not very useful to me and I'm kinda lost atm.   • Query an XmlDocument without getting a 'Namespace prefix is not defined' problem

    I've got an Xml document that both defines and references some namespaces. I load it into an XmlDocument object and to the best of my knowledge I create a XmlNamespaceManager object with which to query Xpath against. Problem is I'm getting XPath exceptions that the namespace "my" is not defined. How do I get the namespace manager to see that the namespaces I am referencing are already defined. Or rather how do I get the namespace definitions from the document to the namespace manager. Furthermore tt strikes me as strange that you have to provide a namespace manager to the document which you create from the documents nametable in the first place. Even if you need to hardcode manual namespaces why can't you add them directly to the document. Why do you always have to pass this namespace manager with every single query? What can't XmlDocument just know?     Hi all, I have a list of extension to mimetype in a INI file. However some extensions have multiple mimetypes, for example; midi[] = "application/x-midi" midi[] = "audio/midi" midi[] = "audio/x-mid" midi[] = "audio/x-midi" midi[] = "music/crescendo" midi[] = "x-music/x-midi" 6 (possible) mimetypes for 1 extension. Whats common practice to determine the correct mimetype? (e.g. i need to set a HTTP content-type header). I know its not ideal; determining mimetypes based on extension.. but i need consistent (cross-server) results (e.g. fileinfo extension in PHP is making terrible guesses*). * Some fileinfo results for example; js - text/plain css - text/c-h

  • iphone calls both if and else at the same time?

    Hi, I need to determine what file type a file is and then perform a certain action for it. this seems to work fine for some types, however all media types such as videos and sound files get mixed up. I determine the file type by doing this: BOOL matchedMP3 = ([[rowValue pathExtension] isEqualToString:@"mp3"]); if (matchedMP3 == YES) { NSLog(@"Matched MP3"); } I do this for various file types and just define an "else" for all the others. Here's the problem though. The iPhone calls them both. What happens is that both the webview and the MediaPlayer toggle their own player, so they overlap and play their sound/video a few secs apart from each other.     I want to get all midi (*.mid) files from a site that's set up pretty simple in terms of directory tree structure. I wish we had wget installed here, but that's another party.... The site is VGMusic.com and the path containing all of the midi files is: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/ I tried glob'ing it out, but I suppose that glob only works locally?   • Unable to load dump files in Windows Server 2008

    I've got a managed process (x86) running on a Win Server 2008 (x64). When i'm talking a dump of the process via the task manager ("Create dump file"), i use correctly SOS on win dbg (it complains about symbols and such even though i have all of the debugging symbols installed). If i'll create the dump using procdump.exe [SysInternals], or via WinDBG [.dump -ma], i can open the dump file and use SOS without any problems ...what's the deal with task manager's "create dump file" option?

    I am trying to develop an Facebook application (apps.facebook.com/some_app) using PHP where I need to present some information based on user's music interests. I found that its under "user_likes games". My problems are as follows: To gain access, I have implemented the oauth dialog method as suggested in API in my index page. $auth_url = "http://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth?client_id=" . $app_id . "&redirect_uri=" . urlencode($canvas_page) ."&scope=user_likes"; After successful authorization I come back to index page with "code" as parameters. http://MY_CANVAS_PAGE/?code=some base64 encoded letters Firstly I don't know if I need access_token just to read user's music interests but I have tried all the methods suggested.   • Client-side framework for web-app with good audio support

    I'm trying to create a client-side web app that generates music procedurally using some user-input parameters, so I'm looking for a framework (e.g. Flash, Silverlight etc.) that has the capability to play audio at a specified pitch. Whether it is playing a WAV/MP3 file, using MIDI output, or just playing beeps doesn't really matter -- I just need something that will enable me to generate arbitrary music client-side. I've done a bit of searching and it appears that Flash might have the ability to change pitch with the help of a third-part plugin, but I couldn't find anything similar for Silverlight. I can go a try all them out manually if need be, but I thought I'd ask here first just in case anyone had tried something like this before. Thanks in advance

    I'd like to be able to determine what music album CD is in a CD drive. For example, if someone claims that the CD in their drive is Eminem - The Eminem Show, I would like to be able to verify that the CD is indeed The Eminem Show. Any ideas? I've applied for a Gracenote developer license, but they won't get back to me for five days. Also, how does this work? Is there some GUID or other unique identifier that music discs are encoded with? Lastly, might this be possible with data CDs, like, say, the Diablo II install Disc 1? If so, any directions you can point me in, for accomplishing this?

And even better, when I turn on the connection again (by pressing F8), I test again the type of connection, Toast messages are shown but this time Log messages don't work. Problems happend when I press F8. Anyway, I think I miss something with broadcast receivers, it's not totally clear. Please help me.

    Hello all, I'm writing a CLI for a music-media-platform. One of the features is going to be that you can directly play YouTube videos from the CLI. I don't really have an idea to do it but this one sounded the most reasonable: I'm going to use of those sites where you can download music from YouTube, e.g. http://keepvid.com/ - then I directly stream & play this -- but I have one problem.     I really need someone to help me to fully understand how to do many-to-many relationship with Entity Framework 4 CTP 5, POCO. I need to understand 3 concepts: How to config my model to indicates some tables are many-to-many. How to properly do insert. How to properly do update. Again, my questions are: What to do on the EntityTypeConfiguration to set the relationship between them as well as mapping to an table/object that associates with the many-to-many relationship. How to insert a new music sheets (where it might have multiple authors or multiple tags). How to update a music sheet. For example, I might set TagA, TagB to MusicSheet1, but later I need to change the tags to TagA and TagC. It seems like I need to first check to see if the tags already exists, if not, insert the new tag and then associate it with the music sheet (so that I doesn't re-insert TagA?). Or this is something already handled by the framework? Thank you very much. I really hope to fully understand it rather than just doing it without fully understand what's going on. Especially on #3.

  • translating specifications into query predicates

    I'm trying to find a nice and elegant way to query database content based on DDD "specifications". In domain driven design, a specification is used to check if some object, also known as the candidate, is compliant to a (domain specific) requirement. For example, the specification 'IsTaskDone' goes like: class IsTaskDone extends Specification<Task> { boolean isSatisfiedBy(Task candidate) { return candidate.isDone(); } } The above specification can be used for many purposes, e.g. it can be used to validate if a task has been completed, or to filter all completed tasks from a collection. However, I want to re-use this, nice, domain related specification to query on the database. Of course, the easiest solution would be to retrieve all entities of our desired type from the database, and filter that list in-memory by looping and removing non-matching entities. But clearly that would not be optimal for performance, especially when the entity count in our db increases. Proposal So my idea is to create a 'ConversionManager' that translates my specification into a persistence technique specific criteria, think of the JPA predicate class. The services looks as follows: public interface JpaSpecificationConversionManager { <T> Predicate getPredicateFor(Specification<T> specification, Root<T> root, CriteriaQuery<?> cq, CriteriaBuilder cb); JpaSpecificationConversionManager registerConverter(JpaSpecificationConverter<?, ?> converter); } By using our manager, the users can register their own conversion logic, isolating the domain related specification from persistence specific logic. To minimize the configuration of our manager, I want to use annotations on my converter classes, allowing the manager to automatically register those converters. JPA repository implementations could then use my manager, via dependency injection, to offer a find by specification method. Providing a find by specification should drastically reduce the number of methods on our repository interface. In theory, this all sounds decent, but I feel like I'm missing something critical. What do you guys think of my proposal, does it comply to the DDD way of thinking? Or is there already a framework that does something identical to what I just described?
