• Access VBA sub with form as parameter doesn't alter the form

  I have a Microsoft Access 2003 file with various tables of data. Each table also has a duplicate of it, with the name '[original table name]_working'. Depending on the user's choices in the switchboard, the form the user choose to view must switch its recordsource table to the working table. I refactored the relevant code to do such a thing into the following function today: Public Sub SetFormToWorking(ByRef frm As Form) With frm .RecordSource = rst![Argument] & "_working" .Requery Dim itm As Variant For Each itm In .Controls If TypeOf itm Is subForm Then With Item Dim childFields As Variant, masterFields As Variant childFields = .LinkChildFields masterFields = .LinkMasterFields .Form.RecordSource = .Form.RecordSource & "_working" .LinkChildFields = childFields .LinkMasterFields = masterFields .Form.Requery End With End If Next End With End Sub The lines of code that call the function look like this: SetFormToWorking Forms(rst![Argument]) and SetFormToWorking Forms(cmbTblList) For some reason, the above function doesn't change the recordsource for the form. I added the 'ByRef' keyword to the parameter just to be certain that it was passing by reference, but no dice. Hopefully someone here can tell me what I've done wrong?

• Perform case-insensitive lookup on an Array in MongoDB?

  So, I've decided to get my feet wet with MongoDB and love it so far. It seems very fast and flexible which is great. But, I'm still going through the initial learning curve and as such, I'm spending hours digging for info on the most basic things. I've search throughout the MongoDB online documentation and have spent hours Googling through pages without any mention of this. I know Mongo is still quite new (v1.x) so it explains why there isn't much information yet. I've even trying looking for books on Mongo without much luck. So yes, I've tried to RTFM with no luck, so, now I turn to you. I have an Array of various Hashtags nested in each document (ie: #apples, #oranges, #Apples, #APPLES) and I would like to perform a case-insensitive find() to access all the documents containing apples in any case. It seems that find does support some regex with /i, but I can't seem to get this working either. Anyway, I hope this is a quick answer for someone. Here's my existing call in PHP which is case sensitive: $cursor = $collection->find(array( "hashtags" => array("#".$keyword)))->sort(array('$natural' => -1))->limit(10); Help?

  It is not clear from the PDF ISO standard document (PDF32000-2008) whether a comment may follow the startxref keyword: startxref Byte_offset_of_last_cross-reference_section %%EOF The standard does seem to imply that comments may appear anywhere: 7.2.3 Comments Any occurrence of the PERCENT SIGN (25h) outside a string or stream introduces a comment. The comment consists of all characters after the PERCENT SIGN and up to but not including the end of the line, including regular, delimiter, SPACE (20h), and HORZONTAL TAB characters (09h). A conforming reader shall ignore comments, and treat them as single white-space characters. That is, a comment separates the token preceding it from the one following it. EXAMPLE The PDF fragment in this example is syntactically equivalent to just the tokens abc and 123. abc% comment ( /%) blah blah blah 123 Comments (other than the %PDF–n.m and %%EOF comments described in 7.5, "File Structure") have no semantics. They are not necessarily preserved by applications that edit PDF files. If they are allowed to appear after the startxref, parsing the file becomes more difficult because you do not know how far to back up from the %%EOF comment to start parsing to find the byte offset. • Class Structure w/ LINQ, Partial Classes, and Abstract Classes

  I am following the Nerd Dinner tutorial as I'm learning ASP.NET MVC, and I am currently on Step 3: Building the Model. One part of this section discusses how to integrate validation and business rule logic with the model classes. All this makes perfect sense. However, in the case of this source code, the author only validates one class: Dinner. What I am wondering is, say I have multiple classes that need validation (Dinner, Guest, etc). It doesn't seem smart to me to repeatedly write these two methods in the partial class: public bool IsValid { get { return (GetRuleViolations().Count() == 0); } } partial void OnValidate(ChangeAction action) { if (!IsValid) { throw new ApplicationException("Rule violations prevent saving."); } } What I'm wondering is, can you create an abstract class (because "GetRuleViolations" needs to be implemented separately) and extend a partial class? I'm thinking something like this (based on his example): public partial class Dinner : Validation { public IEnumerable<RuleViolation> GetRuleViolations() { yield break; } } This doesn't "feel" right, but I wanted to check with SO to get opinions of individuals smarter than me on this. I also tested it out, and it seems that the partial keyword on the OnValidate method is causing problems (understandably so). This doesn't seem possible to fix (but I could very well be wrong).   I've been trying to get the Zend Jquery autocomplete function working, when i noticed this section in the Zend documentation. The following UI widgets are available as form view helpers. Make sure you use the correct version of jQuery UI library to be able to use them. The Google CDN only offers jQuery UI up to version 1.5.2. Some other components are only available from jQuery UI SVN, since they have been removed from the announced 1.6 release. autoComplete($id, $value, $params, $attribs): The AutoComplete View helper will be included in a future jQuery UI version (currently only via jQuery SVN) and creates a text field and registeres it to have auto complete functionality. The completion data source has to be given as jQuery related parameters 'url' or 'data' as described in the jQuery UI manual. Does anybody know which svn url tag or branch i need to download to get a javascript file with the autocomplete functions available in it? • Assigning static final int in a JUnit (4.8.1) test suite

  I have a JUnit test class in which I have several static final ints that can be redefined at the top of the tester code to allow some variation in the test values. I have logic in my @BeforeClass method to ensure that the developer has entered values that won't break my tests. I would like to improve variation further by allowing these ints to be set to (sensible) random values in the @BeforeClass method if the developer sets a boolean useRandomValues = true;. I could simply remove the final keyword to allow the random values to overwrite the initialisation values, but I have final there to ensure that these values are not inadvertently changed, as some tests rely on the consistency of these values. Can I use a constructor in a JUnit test class? Eclipse starts putting red underlines everywhere if I try to make my @BeforeClass into a constructor for the test class, and making a separate constructor doesn't seem to allow assignment to these variables (even if I leave them unassigned at their declaration); Is there another way to ensure that any attempt to change these variables after the @BeforeClass method will result in a compile-time error? Can I make something final after it has been initialised?

  Hi, I am running a mainLoop in Cocoa using an NSTimer set up like this: mainLoopTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0/fps target:self selector:@selector(mainloop) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] addTimer:mainLoopTimer forMode:NSEventTrackingRunLoopMode]; At Program startup I set the timeInterval to 0.0 so that the mainloop runs as fast as possible. Anyways, I would like to provide a function to set the framerate(and thus the time interval of the timer) to a specific value at runtime. • How to call a new thread from button click

  Hi, I'm trying to call a thread on a button click (btn_more) but i cant get it right. The thread is to get some data and update the images. The problem i have is if i only update 4 or 5 images then it works fine. But if i load more than 5 images i will get a force close. At times when the internet is slow I will face the same problem too. Can please help me to solve this problem or provide me some guidance? • Inflated ImageView to put in GalleryView isn't the right size

  I am trying to inflate an ImageView that scales a Drawable that I can display in a GalleryView. My code to inflate the view seems to work fine, except that the attributes of the ImageView are not applied. Specifically, the inflated ImageView does not have the width/height that I set for it via the android:layout params in XML. Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong? I want to set the width/height of the image in dp, so that it is the correct size across multiple screen dpis and support Android 1.5+. As a result I cannot use something like: i.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(150, 116) My layout definition is: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ImageView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="150dp" android:layout_height="116dp" android:background="@drawable/gallery_item_background" android:scaleType="fitXY" /> </ImageView> And the snippet I am using to inflate the ImageView is: public View getView(int position, View convertView, ViewGroup parent) { LayoutInflater inflater = getLayoutInflater(); ImageView i = (ImageView) inflater.inflate(R.layout.gallery_item, null); i.setImageResource(mImageIds.get(position)); i.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.FIT_XY); return i; }

• Are CMake GLOB and source_group compatible?

  I'm using CMake 2.8.0 (on Windows) with the "Visual Studio 10 Win64" generator. GLOB and source_group don't seem to work together. Is there a way to get this to work? I use file( GLOB ... ) to create a list of .cpp files and then use source_group to create a filter in the generated Visual Studio project: # C:\Users\My Name\hello\CMakeLists.txt cmake_minimum_required( VERSION 2.8 ) project( hello_proj ) file( GLOB HELLO_SRCS *.cpp ) message( "HELLO_SRCS="${HELLO_SRCS} ) #source_group( hello_group ${HELLO_SRCS} ) #line 6: uncomment to get error add_executable( hello_exec ${HELLO_SRCS} ) with line 6 commented out, the project is generated fine: HELLO_SRCS=C:/Users/My Name/hello/hello.cppC:/Users/My Name/hello/print_line.cpp -- Configuring done -- Generating done -- Build files have been written to: C:/Users/My Name/hello with line 6 un-commented, I get an error: HELLO_SRCS=C:/Users/My Name/hello/hello.cppC:/Users/My Name/hello/print_line.cpp CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:6 (source_group): source_group Unknown argument "C:/Users/My Name/hello/hello.cpp". Perhaps the FILES keyword is missing. -- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred! I notice that output value of ${HELLO_SRCS} does not seem to contain any delimiters between the file names, nor does it have quotes or other delimiters wrapping the file names which contain spaces. Does that have anything to do with my problem? Renaming all directories to avoid spaces is not really an option.
