• TextMate/Macfusion combo for mounting projects over SSH

  Here is my workflow: I use Macfusion to mount a server over SSH, and then edit the root directory of the project in TextMate (using mate /Volumes/server/projectdir). I have a plug in installed that disables refreshing on refresh. This works ALMOST perfectly--the only thing I have problems with is "Find in Project": it's REALLY slow. Has anyone run into this problem before and been able to find any solutions? Currently I go to terminal when I have to do a search, but it would be great to be able to do it in TextMate. Thanks!

• OS X Dock API? Retrieve OS X active application's icon with badges and other modifications.

  Is there an API for retrieving the icons of the currently open apps on Mac OS X? I am trying to retrieve all the icons of the active applications along with any badges on top of the application (i.e. number of new messages in mail, or current download rate in Transmission). Is there some sort of Dock API? The only mention of an OSX API for retrieving information about currently active applications I have been able to find is the Process Manager API, which does not mention the ability to poll the dock or retrieve icon data.

I added textBox as a filter. `myBindingSource = new BindingSource(); myBindingSource.DataSource = ds; myBindingSource.DataMember = dt.TableName; dataGridView1.DataSource = myBindingSource;` string strCmd = "some filter query"; myBindingSource.Filter = strCmd; It works fine with filtering. If I add or delete any row to the DataSet then new data will occur in dridview, BUT filter will not work with new data. As I found on the forums there is a Table cash, which .NET uses for filter and I want to refresh it. How can I do it?

  hi. im currently creating a tile based game, where elements of the games are placed in four different vectors (since there are multiple game objects with different properties, hence stored in different vectors). these game elements themselves contain x and y coordinates similar to how they are stored in a two dimensional array. i was wondering if there was a way to access these vector elements similar to two dimensional array access (currently i am implementing an for loop to cycle the elements while comparing its coordinates). this kinda sucks when i need to refresh my display at every game cycle (since the large number of comparisons and loops). im implementing this in java btw.

• How to reset input field in the iframe?

  Hi! I have a search input field on the header of the page and when searched the result are displayed in an iframe, which also has the search input box on the iframe. Problem is how do I go about reseting the input value in the iframe search input field? It seem to remember the old search from the header, so when you do a search again in the iframe it display the last search, instead of the new search keyword. You have to refresh or clear the search again to make the search work correctly. Thanks in advance

  I'm writing a web application that autorefreshes data with an AJAX call at set intervals. Because it's doing that, server side user sessions never time out, since the last activity is refreshed with every ajax call. Are there good client side rules I could implement to time out the user? I.e. should I track mouse movements in the browser, etc., or should I point the AJAX calls to URLs that don't refresh the session? I like that my AJAX calls hit a session-enabled URL, because I can also validate that the user is logged in, etc. Any thoughts in terms of whether I should even bother timing out the users?

• javascript disabling a div or a link? (for a 5-star rating system)

  Basically, I've created a 5-star rating system. Pretty typical. It shows how many stars other people have given the item, and then when a user hovers over the stars, it lights up x number of stars based on how many they're over. It's all run by AJAX. They click 5 stars it automatically adds their 5-star rating to the group. The problem is that after they rate it I want to turn the system off, but I can't seem to be able to do that. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried using element.disable for the a hrefs and for the div, but it still lets them vote away, over and over again, at least in firefox.... Can anyone help me out with a method to simply "freeze" the stars on what the user voted?? If I need to add code that's cool! I figured it probably wasn't necessary in this situation!

• How to automate login to Google API to get OAuth 2.0 token to access known user account

  Ok, so this question has been asked before here. In the response/answer to the question, the user tells him to store the token in the application (session and not db, although it doesn't matter where you store it). After going through the documentation on Google, it seems that the token has an expiration date after which it is no longer valid. Now, we could obviously automatically refresh the token every fixed interval, thereby prolonging the lifespan of the token, but for some reason, this manual process feels like a hack. My questions is: Is this most effective (/generally accepted) way to access google calendar/app data for a known user account by manually logging in and persisting the token in the application? Or is there another mechanism that allows us to programmatically login to this user account and go through the OAuth steps?

  I'm using APC to reduce my loading time for my PHP files. My files load very fast, except for one file where I define more than 100 arrays. This 270 kb file takes 200 ms to load. The rest of the files are full of objects, methods, and functions. I'm wondering: does OP code caching not work as well for arrays? My APC cache should be big enough to handle all of my classes. Currently 40% of my cache is free. My hit rate is 99%. apc.shm_size=32 M apc.max_file_size = 1M apc.shm_segments= 1 APC 3.1.6 I'm using PHP 5.2, Apache 2, and Windows Vista.

• Style Data in a gridview which dynamically generates the columns

  I have built a dynamic gridview using the following code grdVariants.Columns.Clear(); int i = 0; foreach (DataColumn column in options.Columns) { grdVariants.Columns.Add(new GridViewColumn { Header = column.ColumnName, DisplayMemberBinding = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", i++)) }); } This will dynamically generate my columns at runtime, I then bind the data using lstVariantsGrid.DataContext = options; lstVariantsGrid.Items.Refresh(); This all works great and shows the data in the correct columns etc, the only issue i have is that I can't style the rows like I would in xaml as it is all an unknown quantity until runtime. Can anyone offer some advice on how I might go about doing this? One of the biggest problems I have is that one of the columns needs to display the image rather than just the path which it currently shows, as well as fiddling with fonts and colors etc. Thanks for your time.

  hi, i pass text strings from a configuration file into my Flex app, one of the strings i pass in is a mailto link which i use to allow users of my app to send me feedback. I recently needed to change this link however when i updated the link in my config file the change did not happen instantly in my Flex app. In fact i had to clear my cache (both browser and flash player) before the change showed up. This of course is fine for me but how can i be sure that users of the application also get the updated content? Is there a way to force a refresh of data loaded into my swf on other users browsers? Finally is this an issue with my browser cache or the Flash player cache? Does the flash player only keep such data, like my email address, in memory while the app is in use and then clear once it is closed or does it cache this data for the next time the user wants to use the app? When i check the source this <img id="wrapper-background" src="images/body-background-0.jpg" alt="Background" /> and i think theres some kind of script maybe php or js, or both, that every 5 sec changes the background: images/body-background-1.jpg images/body-background-2.jpg images/body-background-3.jpg and so on.. So how did they do this? an example would be great, as i want to learn how to do that. If i was going to do something like this i think i would only manage to do a script in php that randomize everytime you refresh. Thank you, this will expand my knowledge

Also, as you can see from the reservation table, we also have 'number of rooms booked between the two dates' factor also... I need to add this 'no.of booked rooms between the two dates' factor also in to the query... The query should return the type of rooms for which at least one room is free between the two dates. I worked out the logic but just can't represent it as a query....! How will you do this...? Thanks for your suggestions..!

• innerHTML of dynamically added element not updating in Chrome

  I'm modifying a dynamically created input element by setting the innerHTML, when I view the element in the DOM Inspector I can see that the values I passed are in the input. However, I can't see it on the page? Is there a refresh() function that I should be calling after setting the value? I have tried innerText, and value and gotten the same results. • Looking for a file database

  A few years ago there was a PHP script around called paFileDB. Essentially it created a database of files that end users could download and rate. It would keep track of the number of downloads as well. I am looking for a replacement of this coded in ASP.net C#. For the last week I have been searching around for "asp.net C# file database" and have just gotten how to upload files to a database. I have also search with some other terms. I do not need a full blown CMS like DotNetNuke or SharePoint. All I have been looking for is a system I could easily add to my existing .net C# site. I have thought about coding one myself, but with me being rather busy at work and this being a personal project, I simply do not have the time to code this myself. I hope that you guys can help.   This has got to be a FAQ, so can someone please just direct me to a "network programming for dummies" URL? The server wants to push information to a client or broadcast to all, when an event happens - as opposed to the clients constantly polling the server "just in case". The client then updates a browser page display. How do I do that? (toldya it was a n00b question) Should I have a thread which receives info on a socket and then writes it to a database which the browser display (PHP) can process with an HTML refresh tag, or what? • Google JavaScript CAPTCHA handling

  I am using Google API's to provide maps on a web page, however, Google frequently prompts for a CAPTCHA (I only know this from going into Firebug, users just get a JavaScript error) for requests for its javascript API's (e.g. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?file=api&v=2&key=xxxx). However, this prevents visitors from our network (a very large (UK wide) WAN) using Google Maps etc from using these sites with it on. This is likely due to the fact the IP is shared by many people, so Google sees it as spam. I don't see any way of contacting Google about this, so was wondering if there is any way of intercepting these failing JavaScript requests since they return a 403 status code? Perhaps by opening a new window, although that would not be user friendly (they will see the JavaScript after the CAPTCHA, so would be a cause of confusion and would need to refresh the page in question).

• How can I return JSON from node.js backend to frontend without reloading or re-rendering the page?

I want to press a search button, make some rest api calls to another server in the backend and return the json back to the front end, and reload a div in the front end so that I won't have to refresh the page. Now I know I can reload just a div with jQuery or just Javascript dom manipulation. But how do I make it call a method on the server side? I could have a submit button and it will make a post request and I can catch it and make my api calls from there, however from the node.js side, when I return, I will have to render the page again. How do I go about returning JSON from the back end to the front end without re-rendering or refreshing my page? Thanks.

• Running sites on "localhost" is extremeley slow.

  Hello all, Having real trouble using my local host to test sites. It runs extremely slow! Sometimes up to a minute to load a page. I'm using firefox and the sites i'm testing run fine on other developers in my office local machines/ on the production server. I've gone through the normal things :- Disabled IPv6 Not running in debug mood Put the site in the highest app pool (High Isolated) on IIS 6. Taking of firewalls etc. The problem only seems to occur when hitting pages which contain some form of .net code in the code-behind. Appreciate that this a little bit of a vague topic / stab in the dark but would appreciate any sort of advice - it's horrible waiting a minute each refresh to try out a change! Cheers, Sean.
