  On a SMP machine we must use spin_lock_irqsave and not spin_lock_irq from interrupt context. Why would we want to save the flags (which contains the IF)? Is there another interrupt routine that could interrupt us? The flags are per CPU?

• Mysql - Rank field for a query

  How can I add a field that contains a rows rank within the result set of a query? Initially I used php to rank my results as it was all on a single page. Now I have added multiple pages so now even though I am on the second page the first result on the page is still '1st'. Obviously I could multiply the page number by the number of results per page and add the result number but I imagine there is a better way within the query. Thanks,

• Is there a template engine for Node.js?

I really don't care a lot about how beautiful a server side language might be but how much requests per second it can handle.   well, i have network that each proxy (lets assume we have 200 proxies), send UDP packages every constant amount of time. (let assume 10 seconds) to constant amount of hosts (lets assume 10) my question is how will 6 * 10 seconds * 200 proxies * 10 target hosts = 120,000 UDP roundtrip communication per minute will affect my network, in terms of available connections, speed, stability, UDP package loss rate etc... can anyone please refer me to some links on this issue ? thanks

• iAd banner gives warning when pushed off screen by navController

  I have a iAd that seems to be correctly displaying but when push a new view controller into the view i get a warning from the iAd that says it has been: WARNING A banner view (0x490fd0) has an ad but may be obscured. This message is only printed once per banner view. But the ad still runs fine so should i pay attention to this? I just tried adding self.adBannerView = nil; [adBannerView release];` just before i push the viewController but i still get that error

  Per subject, how does msbuild decide whether it needs to rebuild a library (ie, invoke csc), or not, when it is run against a C# project file? I imagine (but want to confirm): If there's no output directory, rebuild (duh :) ) If a C# file has changed, rebuild If an included file marked copy-always has changed, rebuild or is it smart enough to not rebuild, but just copy the file to the existing output?   I have a table of data as follows id status conversation_id message_id date_created 1 1 1 72 2012-01-01 00:00:00 2 2 1 87 2012-03-03 00:00:00 3 2 2 95 2012-05-05 00:00:00 I want to get all the rows from the table in date_created DESC order, but only one row per conversation_id. So in the case of the example data above, I would want to get the rows with id 2 and 3. Any advice is much appreciated.
