  • UIWebView Page Control

    - by Jack
Hi, I would like to use a UIWebView to display some files (PDF, PPT, DOC) and would like to have the ability to scroll using external controls (ie a couple of buttons that, when pressed skip back and forward a page) and display the current page in a UITextView. Is this possible? I have no experience with javascript, but a friend of mine has suggested that this might be a useful approach. Is his suggestion valid? JP

  • Invert 1 bit in C#

    - by Matt Jacobsen
I have 1 bit in a byte (always in the lowest order position) that I'd like to invert. ie given 00000001 I'd like to get 00000000 and with 00000000 I'd like 00000001. I solved it like this: bit > 0 ? 0 : 1; I'm curious to see how else it could be done.

    - by Enrique
Hi I've been testing lots of dropdown menus, but I was looking for some specific stuff: multilevel crossbrowser css based (mainly) if uses javascript, to be jQuery compatible easy to implement After discarding some menus, I arrived to Superfish http://users.tpg.com.au/j_birch/plugins/superfish/ I had to discard it too, because the z-index fix for IE didn't work for me So, does any1 know about one good multilevel dropdown crossbrowser menu? • determine if javascript blur/focusout event is from selecting flash or leaving browser

    - by jedierikb
In IE when I select flash, document.onfocusout is fired. When this event is fired, I would like to distinguish between selecting flash and leaving the browser. When I handle the callback, document.activeElement is the previous html element with focus (what I just left), so this is not helpful for solving this problem. Clearly there has been a change in focus to warrant calling the blur method -- is this information available somewhere? Or is there a better way to do this?

  • Emulating CSS3 border-radius and box-shadow in IE7/8

    - by Adam Maras
I'm working on HTML for a small web application; the design calls for a content area with rounded corners and a drop shadow. I've been able to produce this with CSS3, and it works flawlessly on Firefox and Chrome: However, Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (not supporting CSS3) is a different story: Is there an easy, lightweight JavaScript solution that would allow me to either 1) use IE-specific features to achieve this, or 2) modify the DOM (programmatically) in such a way that adds custom images around the content area to emulate the effect?

  • Can I use a ShareThis/AddThis Button if my site's navigation relies on Hash tags in the url?

    - by John Himmelman
I want to embed a ShareThis/AddThis button on my site but the site's navigation relies on Hash tags in the url. Each page is assigned a unique hash value (ie, http://domain.com/index.php#products). Changing the navigation/page design isn't an option. Will these service preserve the hash value (both embed JS on the page)? If they don't, what are some alternative solutions?

  • Running XPath on child node.

    - by Jeeyoung Kim
    Hi. I'm trying to do a xpath lookup on nodes returned by xpath lookup, but it doesn't seem to work as I expected.XPaths executed on the child nodes of a document seem to be executd against hthe root node of the document (in the example, the inventory tag.), instead of the root of the provided node. Am I missing something here? I'm new to XPath. Also, please don't answer "just do //book[author='Neal Stephenson'/title". I have a legitimate use case, and this is a simplified example. Code snippet DocumentBuilderFactory domFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); domFactory.setNamespaceAware(true); DocumentBuilder builder = domFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = builder.parse("src/main/java/books.xml"); XPathFactory factory = XPathFactory.newInstance(); XPath xpath = factory.newXPath(); Node book = (Node) xpath.evaluate("//book[author='Neal Stephenson']", doc, XPathConstants.NODE); Node title = (Node) xpath.evaluate("/title", book, XPathConstants.NODE); // I get null here. Node inventory = (Node) xpath.evaluate("/inventory", book, XPathConstants.NODE); // this returns a node. book.xml <inventory> <book year="2000"> <title>Snow Crash</title> <author>Neal Stephenson</author> <publisher>Spectra</publisher> <isbn>0553380958</isbn> <price>14.95</price> </book> <book year="2005"> <title>Burning Tower</title> <author>Larry Niven</author> <author>Jerry Pournelle</author> <publisher>Pocket</publisher> <isbn>0743416910</isbn> <price>5.99</price> </book> <book year="1995"> <title>Zodiac</title> <author>Neal Stephenson</author> <publisher>Spectra</publisher> <isbn>0553573862</isbn> <price>7.50</price> </book> <!-- more books... --> </inventory>

  • COM C# Memory leak Tracing

    - by maxfridbe
Is there a way to find out the memory usage of each dll within a c# application using com dll's? Or what would you say is the best way to find out why memory grows exponentially when using a com object (IE. Whether the COM object has a memory leak, or whether some special freeing up of objects passed to managed code has to occur(and/or how to do that)).

Ie: ls -la Can someone point me to some documentation on what the usage syntax is.

  • Turtle graphics in SVG?

    - by dr jerry
Is there a equivalent in svg path to logo's turtlegraphics? instead of the hardcoded x and y coordinates, which also force me to adjust controlpoints on shifting a more relative "delta" approach. My solution should work for the FOCS (Firefox Opera Chrome Safaries ex IE) browsers. regards Jeroen.
