    I am using ASP.net with C# and am looking for a tool that given a SQL table name, reads the table columns and populates an aspx form with controls (textboxes with matching labels). Something like ComponentOne InputPanel, except that this product only works for WinForms.     Here are the relevant models: User Product Order A User can sell or buy products An order has a buyer, a seller and one product I know that I can do this with a HABTM relationship between orders and user, but is seems to me like it would be simpler to put in the Order table the following columns: :seller_id :buyer_id and manage those relationships manually as orders are only created once and never edited. However, this doesn't seem very Rails-like and I am wondering if I am missing something conceptually at the HABTM relationship.

If I create a separate index for each column (one for A, one for B, one for C, not (A,B,C)), will all of them be used in the above query?

    How can I ensure the contacts I add to an Outlook distribution list are displayed with both name and email address? These contacts may not exist in any other address book, just the distribution list. Currently they show up just as an email address (in both columns). On average, for every row in the main table will have about 8-10 detail rows in it. My question is: What kind of performance impacts does this have over adding these details as additional nullable columns on the main table?

    I have a DataGridView which is filling from Table in SQL Server Database. One of it's columns is "price". Type of column in DGV is automatically sets as Decimal. In some cases I need to write in cells of this column text like "none", instead of price. How can I do it? DGV.Item("price", 0).Value = "none" doesn't work, because of decimal type of a cell.

    After upgrade to PHP 5.3 my application is returning DB2 columns with Timestamp type as "2010-12-15-10.23.22.716000". This is causing problem for PHP DateTime function, as it fails with Failed to parse time string (2010-12-15-10.23.22.716000) at position 25 (0): Unexpected character It seems its having a problem with too much accuracy in DB2 timestamp. Can I somehow force connection to change timestamp format with it is fetching data into?

    Hi, I try to use the SQL statement SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY column via an PDO-Object in PHP. Problem is, that I always get an error (Call to a member function fetchall() on a non-object - that means, the query did not return a PDO-object) when using the names of all columnname EXCEPT for ID. When I query SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY ID it works. ID is the PRIMARY INTEGER KEY, all other columns are TEXT or NUMERIC, neither of them would works with the ORDER BY clause. Any ideas?

    Take for the following for example: <GridSplitter Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Background="Yellow" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Width="Auto" Height="Auto" Grid.RowSpan="3" ResizeDirection="Columns etc etc This will create a GridSplitter across the 3 rows that I have in my grid. However, it's conceivable that I might add another row to my grid at a later stage, and I don't really want to go back and have all of my rowspans. My first guess was Grid.RowSpan="*", but that doesn't compile. Does anyone know the answer to this off hand?

  • merging and manupulating files in matlab

    Is there a way to run a loop through a folder and process like 30 files for a month and give the average,max of each columns and write in one excel sheet or so?? I have 30 files of size [43200 x 30] I ran a different matlab scrip to generate them so the names are easy File_2010_04_01.xls , File_2010_04_02.xls ..... and so on I cannot merge them as each are 20mbs and matlab would crash. Any ideas? Thanks
