I have a file with two columns,
sdfsd 1.3
sdfds 3
sdfsdf 2.1
dsfsdf -1
if x is 2
I want to print sdfsdf 2.1
How to express it in awk (bash or sed is fine too)
I have a table of values, with one of the columns being of type SET.
If it currently has the members ('a', 'b', 'c', 'd'), how do I add 'e' to the possible values?
I realize that using a SET type is a little strange, and I'm unclear why one would use it instead of a foreign key to another table with the values of the set, but I didn't design the database in question, and can't change it that much.
Thanks for your help!
Im using c# windows form application. I have a database with many tables. Each table has several columns. I need to populate the combo box with the column names for a selected table.
I'd like to know how to get an array rows & columns size. For instance it would be something like this:
int matrix[][] = { { 2, 3 , 4}, { 1, 5, 3 } }
The size of this one would be 2 x 3. How can I calculate this without including other libraries but stdio or stdlib?
What I wanted to do was create a listbox from a delimited text file.
The listbox would populate X # of rows based on the rows of the text file. And the listbox would have 3 columns, each being populated from a specific delimiter. Is this possible in C#? Any starting point would be great!
What are helpful CSS properties which can be helpful for table?
I have to make so many complex tables which have different type of colors in columns, thead, borders, padding, alternate row and column colors etc. I want to use as less as possible of css classes.
How to make complex tables design with combination of as much as possible of HTML tags and CSS properties? and should look identical in all browsers.
I need to parse a pretty simple csv file which represents 7 columns and 3 rows. Is there anything built into .Net to do this or should I do it manually?
When building objects that make use of data stored in a RDBMS, it's normally pretty clear what you're getting back, as dictated by the tables and columns being queried. However, when dealing with NoSQL, document-based systems, it's less clear what is being retrieved.
What are common methods of keeping track of structure in which data is stored?
At my job, we have pseudo-standard of creating one table to hold the "standard" information for an entity, and a second table, named like 'TableNameDetails', which holds optional data elements. On average, for every row in the main table will have about 8-10 detail rows in it.
My question is: What kind of performance impacts does this have over adding these details as additional nullable columns on the main table?
Hey all,
I have a table Logins { Id, AccessTime }, I'd like to write a query that returns 3 columns, Total Logins during a time period, Unique Logins for a time period, and the Id of the user.
I know I could do this with two passes and a join, is there a better way to do it in a single pass?
Thanks,
~P
Please find the attached image in this posting. We have a requirement to draw a rectangle at run time on selected grid columns.The rectangle must cover all of the selected grid cells as the described in the below image.
I am a Yii beginner and am running into a bit of a wall and hope someone will be able to help me get back onto track. I think this might be a fairly straight forward question to the seasoned Yii user. So here goes...
In the controller, let's say I run the following call to the model-
$variable = Post::model()->findAll();
All works fine and I pass the variable into the view. Here's where I get pretty stuck. The array that is returned in the above query is far more complex than I anticipated and I'm struggling to make sense of it. Here's a sample-
print_r($variable);
gives-
Array ( [0] => Post Object ( [_md:CActiveRecord:private] => CActiveRecordMetaData Object ( [tableSchema] => CMysqlTableSchema Object ( [schemaName] => [name] => tbl_post [rawName] => `tbl_post` [primaryKey] => id [sequenceName] => [foreignKeys] => Array ( ) [columns] => Array ( [id] => CMysqlColumnSchema Object ( [name] => id [rawName] => `id` [allowNull] => [dbType] => int(11) [type] => integer [defaultValue] => [size] => 11 [precision] => 11 [scale] => [isPrimaryKey] => 1 [isForeignKey] => [autoIncrement] => 1 [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) [post] => CMysqlColumnSchema Object ( [name] => post [rawName] => `post` [allowNull] => [dbType] => text [type] => string [defaultValue] => [size] => [precision] => [scale] => [isPrimaryKey] => [isForeignKey] => [autoIncrement] => [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) ) [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) [columns] => Array ( [id] => CMysqlColumnSchema Object ( [name] => id [rawName] => `id` [allowNull] => [dbType] => int(11) [type] => integer [defaultValue] => [size] => 11 [precision] => 11 [scale] => [isPrimaryKey] => 1 [isForeignKey] => [autoIncrement] => 1 [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) [post] => CMysqlColumnSchema Object ( [name] => post [rawName] => `post` [allowNull] => [dbType] => text [type] => string [defaultValue] => [size] => [precision] => [scale] => [isPrimaryKey] => [isForeignKey] => [autoIncrement] => [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) ) [relations] => Array ( [responses] => CHasManyRelation Object ( [limit] => -1 [offset] => -1 [index] => [through] => [joinType] => LEFT OUTER JOIN [on] => [alias] => [with] => Array ( ) [together] => [scopes] => [name] => responses [className] => Response [foreignKey] => post_id [select] => * [condition] => [params] => Array ( ) [group] => [join] => [having] => [order] => [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) ) [attributeDefaults] => Array ( ) [_model:CActiveRecordMetaData:private] => Post Object ( [_md:CActiveRecord:private] => CActiveRecordMetaData Object *RECURSION* [_new:CActiveRecord:private] => [_attributes:CActiveRecord:private] => Array ( ) [_related:CActiveRecord:private] => Array ( ) [_c:CActiveRecord:private] => [_pk:CActiveRecord:private] => [_alias:CActiveRecord:private] => t [_errors:CModel:private] => Array ( ) [_validators:CModel:private] => [_scenario:CModel:private] => [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) ) [_new:CActiveRecord:private] => [_attributes:CActiveRecord:private] => Array ( [id] => 1 [post] => User Post ) [_related:CActiveRecord:private] => Array ( ) [_c:CActiveRecord:private] => [_pk:CActiveRecord:private] => 1 [_alias:CActiveRecord:private] => t [_errors:CModel:private] => Array ( ) [_validators:CModel:private] => [_scenario:CModel:private] => update [_e:CComponent:private] => [_m:CComponent:private] => ) )
[sorry if there's an easier way to show this array, I'm not aware of it]
Can anyone explain to me why the model returns such a complex array? It doesn't seem to matter what tables or columns or relations are used in your application, they all seem to me to return this format.
Also, can someone explain the structure to me so that I can isolate the variables that I want to recover?
Many thanks in advance,
Nick
I need to retrieve my data from a ListView control set up in Details mode with 5 columns.
I tried using this code:
MessageBox.Show(ManageList.SelectedItems(0).Text)
And it works, but only for the first selected item (item 0). If I try this:
MessageBox.Show(ManageList.SelectedItems(2).Text)
I get this error:
InvalidArgument=Value of '2' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index
I have no clue how I can fix this, any help?
Edit: Sorry, should have said, I'm using Windows.Forms :)
I'm in a situation now were I need to convert a datarow I've fetched from a query into a new instance of an object. I can do the obvious looping through columns and 'manually' assign these to properties of the object - or I can look into reflection such as this: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/11914/Using-Reflection-to-convert-DataRows-to-objects-or
What would I base the decision on? Just scalability??
I'm building a simple calendar for holiday cottages to show when they are booked or available.
What would be the fastest mysql table design for this, bearing in mind when users mark dates as available/booked they will do so via a start date and an end date.
i can see 2 obvious options
Store 'booked' data for every day [more rows]
or, store 'booked' data with 2 columns a start_date and end_date [more processing?]
Which is best or is there another method i'm missing?

Hello,
I've 3 columns that I'd like to sort in the Excel way, i.e. sorting the first column, and for each element sorted in the first column, I'll sort the second column, and so on. Let's say I first sort alphabeticaly Countries, then for each country, I sort alphabeticaly cities. How do I do it using Linq2Sql?
Thanks for helping
I am trying to populate more columns in the query below, could someone assist me?

Is this possible to have two (or more) different kinds of cells to be displayed interchangeably in single column of C# .Net 3.5 WinForms DataGridView?
I know one column has specified single EditingControl type, yet I think grid is flexible enough to do some tricks, I may think of only:
Adding as many invisible columns to grid as required types of cells and on CellBeginEdit somehow exchange current cell with other column's cell
Creating custom column and custom cell with possibility of changing EditingControl for single cell
Which approach is better, is there any other solution, are there any examples ?
I am copy the datatable records to datagridview to dispaly those records
