    We have a xml column in SQL Server 2008. We need to do reporting off the data in the xml so we're going to select the xml into a flat table. The flat table has columns that correspond to various nodes in the xml. What is the best way to do this using SSIS? Is this a good approach? Or should we just try and write the reports directly off the xml column?

I would like to disable index on sender, because I manually create index with sender_id and receiver id together. How can I disable auto generated index?

For example: (table with 2 columns: key (indexed), data (not indexed) updated (not indexed) Select * where updated=20100202 (the db will do a scan - will the scanned rows be kept in memory?) Select * where key = 20 (the db will refer to the index - will the identified rows be kept in memory?)

    I have a table of values, with one of the columns being of type SET. If it currently has the members ('a', 'b', 'c', 'd'), how do I add 'e' to the possible values? I realize that using a SET type is a little strange, and I'm unclear why one would use it instead of a foreign key to another table with the values of the set, but I didn't design the database in question, and can't change it that much.     Here's my table with some sample data a_id | b_id ------------ 1 225 2 494 3 589 When I run this query INSERT IGNORE INTO table_name (a_id, b_id) VALUES ('4', '230') ('2', '494') It inserts both those rows when it's supposed to ignore the second value pair (2, 494) No indexes defined, neither of those columns are primary. What don't I know?

What would be the fastest mysql table design for this, bearing in mind when users mark dates as available/booked they will do so via a start date and an end date. i can see 2 obvious options Store 'booked' data for every day [more rows] or, store 'booked' data with 2 columns a start_date and end_date [more processing?] Which is best or is there another method i'm missing?

  • How can i share data/text with other apps that will accept it?

    I have an app that creates a new data entry in a sqlite db with several columns. I would like to have a simple share button on the final activity so they can share the results (or even a simple text field) with apps that accept it (email, mms, twitter, etc..). I did some reading on ContentProviders but the more I read, the more I'm thinking i'm heading down the wrong path. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

    I would like to display the contents of a DataTable, divided into several groups depending on the value of one of the columns. So, if I have a DataTable (from SQL query) with: GroupID Name Description 1 foo bar 1 one two 2 some thing I would like to place all records containing GroupID 1 in one div, all records with GroupID 2 in another div, and so on. How can I do this? I'm writing in ASP.NET 4.0, with C# codebehind.

    Hi All, i am using a data grid in flex and i am generating data from a mysql server. However, my problem is with adding a button within the datagrid so each row has one. i have set the columns itemRenderer to mx.controls.Button although with the buttons shown in the grid there is no label on them (even though one has been set) and the assigned click event does not trigger when hitting the button. anyone have any ideas or guidance on what i am doing wrong.   • Unable to use getInt() but able to use getString() for a sqlite database

    I am using a cursor to access a sqlite database I have in my app. I am having trouble using the .getInt() on my database. My database is pre-created, and I have a few cursors that perform queries to interface with the information. Several of the columns in one of the tables are set as INTEGER type. I realize that sqlite has no built in check to make sure columns are indeed INT. However, when retrieving the data, I can use the .getString() function without any issues, but calling .getInt() causes the app to crash. Below is the relevant code. If I am missing anything, please let me know, and I'll add it in. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
