  • Generic wrapper for System.Web.Caching.Cache functions

    I've created a generic wrapper for using the Cache object: public class Cache<T> where T : class { public Cache Cache {get;set;} public CachedKeys Key {get;set;} public Cache(Cache cache, CachedKeys key){ Cache = cache; Key = key; } public void AddToCache(T obj){ Cache.Add(Key.ToString(), obj, null, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(5), System.Web.Caching.Cache.NoSlidingExpiration, System.Web.Caching.CacheItemPriority.Normal, null); } public bool TryGetFromCache(out T cachedData) { cachedData = Cache[Key.ToString()] as T; return cachedData != null; } public void RemoveFromCache() { Cache.Remove(Key.ToString()); } } The CachedKeys enumeration is just a list of keys that can be used to cache data. The trouble is, to call it is quite convuluted: var cache = new Cache<MyObject>(Page.Cache, CachedKeys.MyKey); MyObject myObject = null; if(!cache.TryGetFromCache(out myObject)){ //get data... cache.AddToCache(data); //add to cache return data; } return myObject; I only store one instance of each of my objects in the cache. Therefore, is there any way that I can create an extension method that accepts the type of object to Cache and uses (via Reflection) its Name as the cache key? public static Cache<T> GetCache(this Cache cache, Type cacheType){ Cache<cacheType> Cache = new Cache<cacheType>(cache, cacheType.Name); } Of course, there's two errors here: Extension methods must be defined in a non-generic static class The type or namespace name 'cacheType' could not be found This is clearly not the right approach but I thought I'd show my working.     I'm ramping up on Vaadin and I'm getting this javascript alert whenever I try and run the demo apps. GWT module 'com.vaadin.terminal.gwt.DefaultWidgetSet' may need to be recompiled I've tried cleaning the project to no avail. As I said, I'm ramping up so I'm sure there's some simple step I'm missing or a concept I haven't grasped.

  • CURL Authentication being lost?

    I am authenticating a login via CURL just fine. I have a variable I am using to display the returned HTML, and it is returning my user control panel as if I am logged in. After authenticating, I want to communicate variables with a form on another page within the site; but for some reason the HTML from that page is returning a non-authenticated version of the header (as if the original authentication never took place.) I have a cookies.txt file with 777 permissions, and have tried just getting the contents of the same page shown when I authenticate and it is as if I am losing any associated session/cookie data somewhere along the way.     I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to change grey highlight color in the screenshot below to something that will make the text a little more legible. Does anyone know what the "Display Item" name is that I need to change? To get to the "theme editor" select Tools = Options = Environment = Fonts and Colors. I can't find what to edit.   • Stack Overflow-like tag selector for Rails

    I want to use tags for a model in my Rails application, and I'd like to have the same kind of tag selection mechanism that Stack Overflow has when asking a question. I.e. I type in 'rails' and it drops down a list of tags that include 'rails', and I can go on to add more tags from there. Is there a plugin that can do this? I'm comfortable putting together the tag model and migrations myself, that isn't an issue. I just need something to handle the AJAX and javascript. I'm using prototype and Rails 2.3.

    today I tried to install and run the SublimeJava Plugin for Sublime Text 2. Here is basically what i've done. Cloning the git Repository https://github.com/quarnster/SublimeJava.git into ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2/Packages. Created a ProjectFile to test the Plugin. { "folders": [ { // The class files are in the same directory "path": "~/src/path_to_project/" } ], "settings": [ { "sublimejava_classpath": [ "~/src/path_to_project/", "/System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Libraries/" ], "sublimejava_enabled":true } ] } Now whenever I type something that should trigger the code-completion, nothing happens.   • Proggraming a VPN, Authontication stage - RFC not clear enough

    I have a custom build of a unix OS. My task: Adding an IPSec to the OS. I am working on Phase I, done sending the first 2 packets. what I am trying to do now is making the Identefication Payload. I've been reading RFC 2409 (Apendix B) which discuss the keying materials (SKEYID, SKEYID_d, SKEYID_a, SKEYID_e and the IV making). Now, I use SHA1 for authontication and thus I use HMAC-SHA1 & my encryption algorithem is AES 256bit. The real problem is that the RFC is not clear enough of what should I do regarding the PRF. It says: "Use of negotiated PRFs may require the PRF output to be expanded due to the PRF feedback mechanism employed by this document." I use SHA1, does it mean I do not negotiate a PRF? In my opinion, AES is the only algorithm that needs expention (a fixed length of 256bit), so, do i need to expand only the SKEYID_e? If you happen to know a clearer, though relible, source then the RFC please post a link. Thanks in advance!

Each page is assigned a unique hash value (ie, http://domain.com/index.php#products). Changing the navigation/page design isn't an option. Will these service preserve the hash value (both embed JS on the page)? If they don't, what are some alternative solutions?

My first try was with <rich:modalPanel id="mod1"> <ui:include src="#{mybean.generateURL()"/> </rich:modalPanel> but it just throws me a 404 page not found error, typing the generated URL directly into the address bar works perfectly fine. Does anyone know what's causing the problem , or what's the correct way to do this? The system is running on seam/richfaces. Thanks!

  • Removing the obstacle that yields the best path from a map after A* traversal

    I traverse a 16x16 maze using my own A* implementation. This is exactly what my program does: http://www.screenjelly.com/watch/fDQh98zMP0c?showTab=share All is well. However, after the traversal, I would like to find out what wall would give me the best alternative path. Apart from removing every block and re-running A* on the maze, what's a clever solution? I was thinking give every wall node (ignored by A*), a tentative F-value, and change the node structure to also have a n-sized list of node *tentative_parent where n is the number of walls in the maze. Could this be viable?

  • Matlab crashes on library initialize when called from Java

The setup I have is I'm using a Java application to call native C-code with JNI, which in turn starts up the MATLAB runtime and calls functions on it (I know there are other solutions to call MATLAB methods from Java). The problem is that the MATLAB engine crashes at some point during the initialization and I don't know what's causing it exactly. The crash causes my jvm to terminate, I assume it's some kind of memory corruption.     I'll add a large bounty to this when Stack Overflow lets me. I'm using wkhtmltopdf to convert HTML web pages to PDFs. This works perfectly on my 32-bit dev server [unfortunately, I can't ship my machine :-p ].     In Apple's iPhone apps (like Contacts), they have a nice magnifying glass icon at the top of the table view index. Since the table view index API is character-based, I assume that this magnifying glass is a Unicode character. So far I've resorted to placing a question mark character there, but that looks lame.     When returning data from a DataReader I would typically use the ordinal reference on the DataReader to grab the relevant column: if (dr.HasRows) Console.WriteLine(dr[0].ToString()); (OR dr.GetString(0); OR (string)dr[0];)... I have always done this because I was advised at an early stage that using dr["ColumnName"] or a more elegant way of indexing causes a performance hit. However, whilst everything is becoming increasingly strongly-typed I feel more uncomfortable with this. I'm also aware that the above does not check for DBNull. How should data be returned from a DataReader?

    Is there a simple way to set the background brush of all inactive tabs in a WPF TabControl? I want to emulate the look of VS 2010 on a TabControl--the background color of the control's inactive tabs should match the background color of the window in which the TabControl is sited, so that you see only the text of the tab, and not the tab itself. I know it will take a ControlTemplate to do it; I am trying to figure out what to put in the control template. Put another way, How do I specify that a particular brush should be applied to all inactive tabs? Thanks for your help.

Currently, I can create a scheduled task which runs every 10 minutes, starting at 16:00:00, daily, by using the following command: SCHTASKS.EXE /CREATE /SC MINUTE /MO 10 /TN "Scheduled task name" /ST 16:00:00 /SD 01/01/2000 /TR task.bat /RU SYSTEM The question is, how do I modify the previous command so that it stops running at 06:00:00?
