• Lose changed data in session

  Our asp.net 2.0 application has a very long process (synchronized) before sending response back to client. I observed that a second request, exactly same the initial one, was sent after client IE8 waited response for a long period of time while our application was still processing the first request. I use page session with predefined key to store a flag when the initial request arrives and then starts long process while client IE waits for the response, so if second request comes in, our application checks the session value. After our application sets the session flag and starts processing, I use Fiddler “Abort Session” to abort the initial request, right away the second request (same as the first one) is sent automatically, but session value set earlier seems no longer exist. Any thoughts?

• GAE images.resize with fixed proportional crop

  I need to resize and crop to exactly 60x80px from various size and aspect ratio. Just before i put into Datastore. Anyone already got this issue resolved. Currently i already succed to just transform it to exact height (80px) with various width which nott look so good when i try to display it on a list. e.g jcaroussel. • What is auto-mounting my media volume?

  Something is repeatedly mounting my "media" share, doing something with it, then quietly un-mounting it with no notifications at the user level. from the little I can gleaned from the console messages below, I thought I'd managed to stop it, if not understand it last night when I followed instructions for deleting all traces of the Google Update Daemon. I've not been using any Google apps whatsoever, so I was surprised to see that in Console. What's more surprising, and perhaps a little distressing, is that the same thing occurred this evening, when the Google Daemon is long gone. I don't have that log because I can't recall precisely what time it occurred. I'll do a search and provide it if you wish, though. In the meantime, any help with this would be extremely appreciated. I've asked over at Apple Discussions but I think it might be a little deeper than those manning the boards this weekend are comfortable with. It's certainly beyond my meager skills. With apologies in advance if this is more lines thank you need. • Restoring web session in struts2

  Hi, I have a classical scenario of a website and payment gateway integration, where the request for payment is sent to payment processor, and the payment processor calls back my application once it's done with some parameters I passed to it in the original request. Among parameters, we pass jsessionid and we expect that when the remote server makes request to our server (via customer browser redirect to our server) that the session will be the same as the session used to send the initial payment request. This does not happen, we have two different sessions, although the payment processor includes our original jsessionid in the request to us (https://blabla/?jsessionid=something). How should we go about recreating a session in struts2, in the only thing that connects the 'OLD' and 'NEW' session is the jsessionid in the request URL? Any ideas? Is this possible at all or is the 'OLD' session data deleted when the user moves away from our server onto a completely different domain of a payment processor with their data-entry form? This would explain our innability to recreate the session. Thanks a lot for your replies.

• [Simple] Beginner AJAX script not working, stuck on opening XMLHttpRequest

  Hopefully, this question isn't too juvenile to ask - but here goes: I'm trying to learn AJAX, and I'm stuck on a simple content-fetch. Here is my code: request = getHTTPObject(); function useHttpResponse() { if (request.readyState == 4) { document.getElementById("p").innerHTML = request.responseText; } } function update_p() { request.open("GET",content.html,true); request.onreadystatechange = useHttpResponse; } getHTTPObject is correctly defined, and returns a proper XMLHttpObject. As you probably guessed from the excerpt, the element I am trying to update is id'd "p". It calls the script correctly when a button is clicked, no problem there. The script seems to stop at line 8, at request.open. There's no error, and the script silently ignores anything afterward. I don't think I've missed anything, but of course, I probably did. Where did I go wrong? Thanks!

  I am trying to read the authorization header for an HTTP request (because I need to add something to it), but I always get null for the header value. • Requested URL is changing

  Hi, I have a website, at localhost:82 when I type this into IE, it comes up with a 404 error and the requested URL is localhost:80/wwwroot, which is not at all what I requested. There is no URL rewrite set up. I have tried to set up a tracing rule to see what is happening, however, the instructions at http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/266/troubleshooting-failed-requests-using-tracing-in-iis-7/ say to look for "Fail Request Tracing" link, but it doesn't exist in my IIS 7.0 even under administrator. Not sure where to look or why this is changing my requested URL. Any help would be appreciated.

• delphi vs c# post returns different strings - utf problem?

But the result string seems to be different: c# returns: ¤@@1@@@@1@@@@1@@xsm˱Â0Ð... delphi returns: #$1E'@@1@@@@1@@@@1@@x'#$009C... and sice both are compressed streams I'm getting errors while trying to decompress it... The C# is 'correct' - ie. extracts. • Servlet 3 spec and ThreadLocal

  As far as I know, Servlet 3 spec introduces asynchronous processing feature. Among other things, this will mean that the same thread can and will be reused for processing another, concurrent, HTTP request(s). This isn't revolutionary, at least for people who worked with NIO before. Anyway, this leads to another important thing: no ThreadLocal variables as a temporary storage for the request data. Because if the same thread suddenly becomes the carrier thread to a different HTTP request, request-local data will be exposed to another request. All of that is my pure speculation based on reading articles, I haven't got time to play with any Servlet 3 implementations (Tomcat 7, GlassFish 3.0.X, etc.). So, the questions: Am I correct to assume that ThreadLocal will cease to be a convenient hack to keep the request data? Has anybody played with any of Servlet 3 implementations and tried using ThreadLocals to prove the above? Apart from storing data inside HTTP Session, are there any other similar easy-to-reach hacks you could possibly advise?

  I have two instances of Tomcat 7.0.8 running in the same machine (Tomcat7A and Tomcat7B) and IIS 7.5 acting as front-end load-balancer with isapi-redirector 1.2.31, running on Windows 2008 R2.   I've declared a property in a view (created by interface builder, if it matters) and am trying to set the value from the view's controller – like so: self.view.url = someURL; That gives this error: Request for Member 'url' in something not a structure or union I have included the header for the view in the controller's .m file, but I'm probably just doing something wrong, but I don't know what – any ideas? • Eclipse Hell . . . Failed to read the project description file (.project)

  I think Eclipse is trying to make me miserable. A couple of hours ago, my project was working and compiling well. Suddenly that all changed. Eclipse somehow wipes out all changes I have made to my files(activity, manifest etc.) I make sure to save often but when I go to run the project, I get the error that I have a build error. I checked and there was none, so I go to close Eclipse, so I can reopen and see if the errors will go away. Instead what happens is Eclipse wipes clean all my files and I end up with a project on disk with lots of blank code files. I try to run anyway, and I get the error message below. Failed to read the project description file (.project) for 'com.example.android.nfc.simulator.FakeTagsActivity.FakeTagsActivity'. The file has been changed on disk, and it now contains invalid information. The project will not function properly until the description file is restored to a valid state. Anyone have an idea what in the world this is about and how I can rectify this?
