  • Can any language potentially be used to create any program?

    I've heard that given a programmer with enough time and skill in any particular language and enough lines of code, then any program could be created with any given language. I know its certainly not going to be cost-efficient, for instance, to rewrite Adobe Photoshop in BASIC, but could a good enough and patient enough programmer potentially create any program in any language?

  • Controlling the print options of a pdf

    I am producing a number of PDFs using either SSRS or using an HTML to PDF component. What I want to do for each document is to set the first page to print to tray 1 and subsequent pages. Is there anyway to do this? System.Drawing.Printing and System.Printing seem like good candidates but they don't seem to be useful for PDFs (i may be wrong). The Adobe sdk doesn't at first glance seem to have that level of granularity either.

  • controlling PDF inside safari using javascript

    Please help about controlling PDFs through JavaScript loaded inside Safari. Safari uses a PDF plugin of its own something exclusive to Safari and not present in other webkit based browsers like Chrome. Any of the or js commands that would work with the Adobe's plugin don't seem to work. Any help / pointers would be appreciated.

    I'm using GhostScript to merge to PDFs into one PDF. One of the PDFs has textbox fields (editable fields) that I created in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. When I merge these two PDFs with GhostScript I lose the textbox fields. Is there any way to merge these files (using GS or some other free linux software) that keeps the textbox fields intact?

Currently the process is using Adobe Photoshop and droplets (very manual, taking upwards of two hours a day) Using SSIS hot folders, is there a way to execute up to eight conversions at once?   • Strange phantom header margin bug html/css

    So I'm creating this website and there is a strange untraceable bug that causes the header to move down 10 or so pixels. On a refresh the header could be correct or it could be broken.     Given a PDF, how can one get the layout mode of a PDF (or relative width/height) using a PHP lib or linux command line tool? Using http://www.tecnick.com/public/code/cp%5Fdpage.php?aiocp%5Fdp=tcpdf which can set this variable on new PDFs, but for existing pdfs from adobe. Thought of converting pdfs to ps, or using gs in some other way - like converting it to an image first, and getting the width and height of that. Is this the best way?

  • Fix indention in Visual Studio when pasting from eBook

    Hi All, Every time I paste code from an Adobe reader eBook into Visual Studio it ends up looking like the image below. The only way I know to fix it is to go on each and every line and manually tab/backspace it all back in order. Source formatting does nothing (EditAdvancedFormat Document) Anyone know how to fix the indention in this scenario?
