    I used message box as seperate dialog instead of sheets for mac OS, now i m working on it to spawn a sheet as message box instead of seperate one. I have tried setting the message box as a modal one: (messagebox.setWindowModality(QtCore.Qt.WindoModal)) and setting message box, parent dialog window flags as sheet (parentDialog.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet) messagebox.setWindowFlags(QtCore.Qt.Sheet)) But the above commands are not working to create a sheet instead of seperate dialog. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve?

  • Git index resets itself

    Every so often when I run git add . to add new files to my repo my git index will reset and think all the files in the repo have been deleted. I run these commands: git status git add . git status git commit -a -m "Commit message" everything looks fine at all those points until I commit and it says every file was deleted, all I have to do it run git add . and commit again to get the files back, but this becomes a pain. And this doesnt happen every time, maybe about 40% of the time. Anyone know why this might happen? I am on Mac OS 10.6.3 with Git 1.6.6

  • Get application icon from ProcessSerialNumber

    I would like to get the application icon for all foreground applications running on my Mac. I'm already iterating over all applications using the Process Manager API. I have determined that any process that does not have the modeBackgroundOnly flag set in the processMode (as retrieved from GetProcessInformation()) is a "foreground" application, and shows up in the task switcher window. All I need is an API that gives me a CImageRef (or similar) that contains the application icon for a process. I'm free to use either carbon or cocoa APIs.

  • Accidentally deleted /opt/local/bin without backup. Any help?

    Hi all, I'm on a Mac OS X 10.5.8 I was recently uninstalling mysql5 from /opt/local/bin. I typed: rm -rf /opt/local/bin mysql* instead of rm -rf /opt/local/bin/mysql* This deleted my entire /opt/local/bin directory which puts me in a bit of a bind. Is there any way to recover these files? If not, I have a friend that is using a similar set of programs, would it be possible to use the contents of his folder? If I end up needing to re-install everything in this folder, what is the best way to go about doing this? Thanks in advance!

    I recently started learning Ruby and Ruby on Rails, and have watched a plethora of getting started materials. I have been finding lately that I keep getting errors where gems won't install or they will be installed but they can't be used for some reason, and I have decided that I want to remove everything down to once again just having Ruby installed and start over with the installation. One training video had me install most of my gems with RVM, so I don't know if that changes anything. So in short my question is "How to I get rid of RVM, Rubygems, and all installed Gems so that I can start over with just Ruby?" Edit: I am on Mac OS 10.6

  • Cocoa - NSFileManager removeItemAtPath Not Working

    Hey there everyone, I am trying to delete a file, but somehow nsfilemanager will not allow me to do so. I do use the file in one line of code, but once that action has been ran, I want the file deleted. I have logged the error code and message and I get error code: 4 and the message: "text.txt" could not be removed Is there a way to fix this error "cleanly" (without any hacks) so that apple will accept this app onto their Mac App Store?     We are a network of Mac computers. I would like to send email addresses to colleagues with links to files on network locations. I made the following applescript: tell application "Finder" set uuu to URL of the first item of (get the selection) set the clipboard to uuu end tell which puts the URL of the currently selected file into the clipboard, which can then be pasted into the message (using the Add Link menu item), providing, for example: file://localhost/Volumes/Commerciale/Clienti/ unfortunately these links do not work. If I select Go To Folder from the menu item, I can get to the folder using an afp:// type url. Is there any way to get this via applescript like I do with url above? Thanks

  • NSColor, 10.6 and Gamma 2.2

    With Snow Leopard the default gamma changed from 1.8 to 2.2. I happen to be working on a few Mac apps that use a very dark custom colour scheme provided by Cocoa. On 10.5 it looks fine but on 10.6 with the new gamma it's much darker and really hard on the eyes. The colour scheme is defined using numerous [NSColor colorWithCalibratedRed:green:blue:alpha:] objects within a theme class. Is there any way to 'convert' an NSColor object so that it displays on 10.6 exactly as it would on 10.5 with the old 1.8 gamma? I know this can be achieved globally from within System Preferences but that's not what I'm after.

  • Textmate tab and de-tab selected block

    Recently switched to Textmate on Mac for coding. On PC when ever I want to tab in or out a block of code I just highlight and press tab or shift+tab to move it in our out. It's very useful when you are adding an extra loop or conditional statement to a block of code to keep everything tidy and neatly indented. On Textmate however when I try this it just replaces my selected text with a tab. So is there a way to do tab and de-tab lines of code in textmate?
