  • How to re-enable the context menu in this case?

    - by lemonedo
    document.addEventListener('contextmenu', function (e) { e.preventDefault() e.stopPropagation() e.returnValue = false e.cancleBubble = true }) No way? Edit: document.oncontextmenu = null does not work. P.S. I cannot have the reference of the listener function since I am not the owner of the site preventing the context menu.

  • Flash button not reacting at all...

    - by Jerre
    Hi, I'm making a game in Flash for school. I have a few dialog boxes that work just fine! Now I need a bigger one with more buttons and with the same code, I can't even get a trace reaction... My code: On the button itself: okButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,MovieClip(parent).clickMyButton); In the AS file: public function clickMyButton(event:MouseEvent) { trace("Halloooo"); } Another question: How can I close (remove from stage) a child dialog box (movie clip)

  • How to load an external swf to the main stage from an instanced child class?

    - by RaamEE
    Hi, I am trying to get an instance of a class to the load an external swf and show it. So far I have the following: 1) I wrote a class that uses the Loader class to load an external swf "loadExtSWF". 2) I have a fla named "MainSWF.fla" that uses a document class "MainSWF.as". 3) I have the MainSWF.as file that instances "loadExtSWF" and calls loadExtSWF.startLoad to load the swf. This almost works. The instance of loadExtSWF loads the external swf, but the swf is not displayed. If I replace the fla's document class with loadExtSWF (this has an empty constructor) instead of MainSWF, and run loadExtSWF.startLoad, then the external swf is loaded and displayed. It seems that the way I initially do it, loads the swf to the wrong stage (?). Any ideas? Thanks for the help. Bye, RaamEE P.S. If you replace the document class for test_tsscreen from test_tsscreen.as to TSScreen.as, and remove the comment inside the test_tsscreen's constructor, the swf will be loaded. my code is: file test_as3.swf an external as3 swf file. file test_tsscreen.fla the fla is empty and references test_tsscreen.as as its document class. file test_tsscreen.as package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import TSScreen; public class test_tsscreen extends MovieClip{ var tsScreen1; public function test_tsscreen(){ // var tsScreen1:TSScreen = new TSScreen(10,10,100,100,0.5,0); var tsScreen1:TSScreen = new TSScreen(); tsScreen1.startLoad(this.stage); } } } file TSScreen.as package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.display.*; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.system.ApplicationDomain; import flash.system.LoaderContext; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.events.Event; import flash.events.ProgressEvent; public class TSScreen extends MovieClip implements ITSScreenable{ public function TSScreen():void{ // startLoad(this); //Look important comment in above text } function startLoad(_this:Stage) { var mLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var mRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest("test_as3.swf"); mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onCompleteHandler); mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onProgressHandler); _this.parent.addChild(mLoader); mLoader.load(mRequest); trace(this.name); trace(_this.name); } function onCompleteHandler(loadEvent:Event) { addChild(loadEvent.currentTarget.content); } function onProgressHandler(mProgress:ProgressEvent) { var percent:Number = mProgress.bytesLoaded/mProgress.bytesTotal; trace(percent); } } }

  • PhP/HTML play button [migrated]

    - by Marian
    I'm wanting to make my own small webpage, I've got a domain Saoo.eu As you see there is a small play button in the corner witch plays a playlist. Is there anyway to have that playbutton on each page I'd add in the future without resetting every time the page changes? Am I forced to use iFrames for that? This is my player code <button id="audioControl" style="width:30px;height:25px;"></button> <audio id="aud" src="" autoplay autobuffer /> Script: $(document).ready(function() { $('#audioControl').html('II'); if(Modernizr.audio && Modernizr.audio.mp3) { audio.setAttribute("src",'http://daokun.webs.com/play0.mp3'); } else if(Modernizr.audio && Modernizr.audio.wav) { audio.setAttribute("src", 'http://daokun.webs.com/play0.ogg'); } }); var audio = document.getElementById('aud'), count = 0; $('#audioControl').toggle( function () { audio.pause(); $('#audioControl').html('>'); }, function () { audio.play(); $('#audioControl').html('II'); } ); audio.addEventListener("ended", function() { count++; if(count == 4){count = 0;} if(Modernizr.audio && Modernizr.audio.mp3) { audio.setAttribute("src",'http://daokun.webs.com/play'+count+'.mp3'); } else if(Modernizr.audio && Modernizr.audio.wav) { audio.setAttribute("src", 'http://daokun.webs.com/play'+count+'.ogg'); } audio.load(); });

  • Metro: Creating a Master/Detail View with a WinJS ListView Control

    - by Stephen.Walther
    The goal of this blog entry is to explain how you can create a simple master/detail view by using the WinJS ListView and Template controls. In particular, I explain how you can use a ListView control to display a list of movies and how you can use a Template control to display the details of the selected movie. Creating a master/detail view requires completing the following four steps: Create the data source – The data source contains the list of movies. Declare the ListView control – The ListView control displays the entire list of movies. It is the master part of the master/detail view. Declare the Details Template control – The Details Template control displays the details for the selected movie. It is the details part of the master/detail view. Handle the selectionchanged event – You handle the selectionchanged event to display the details for a movie when a new movie is selected. Creating the Data Source There is nothing special about our data source. We initialize a WinJS.Binding.List object to represent a list of movies: (function () { "use strict"; var movies = new WinJS.Binding.List([ { title: "Star Wars", director: "Lucas"}, { title: "Shrek", director: "Adamson" }, { title: "Star Trek", director: "Abrams" }, { title: "Spiderman", director: "Raimi" }, { title: "Memento", director: "Nolan" }, { title: "Minority Report", director: "Spielberg" } ]); // Expose the data source WinJS.Namespace.define("ListViewDemos", { movies: movies }); })(); The data source is exposed to the rest of our application with the name ListViewDemos.movies. Declaring the ListView Control The ListView control is declared with the following markup: <div id="movieList" data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ListView" data-win-options="{ itemDataSource: ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource, itemTemplate: select('#masterItemTemplate'), tapBehavior: 'directSelect', selectionMode: 'single', layout: { type: WinJS.UI.ListLayout } }"> </div> The data-win-options attribute is used to set the following properties of the ListView control: itemDataSource – The ListView is bound to the list of movies which we created in the previous section. Notice that the ListView is bound to ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource and not just ListViewDemos.movies. itemTemplate – The item template contains the template used for rendering each item in the ListView. The markup for this template is included below. tabBehavior – This enumeration determines what happens when you tap or click on an item in the ListView. The possible values are directSelect, toggleSelect, invokeOnly, none. Because we want to handle the selectionchanged event, we set tapBehavior to the value directSelect. selectionMode – This enumeration determines whether you can select multiple items or only a single item. The possible values are none, single, multi. In the code above, this property is set to the value single. layout – You can use ListLayout or GridLayout with a ListView. If you want to display a vertical ListView, then you should select ListLayout. You must associate a ListView with an item template if you want to render anything interesting. The ListView above is associated with an item template named #masterItemTemplate. Here’s the markup for the masterItemTemplate: <div id="masterItemTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div class="movie"> <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> </div> This template simply renders the title of each movie. Declaring the Details Template Control The details part of the master/detail view is created with the help of a Template control. Here’s the markup used to declare the Details Template control: <div id="detailsTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div> <div> Title: <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> <div> Director: <span data-win-bind="innerText:director"></span> </div> </div> </div> The Details Template control displays the movie title and director.   Handling the selectionchanged Event The ListView control can raise two types of events: the iteminvoked and selectionchanged events. The iteminvoked event is raised when you click on a ListView item. The selectionchanged event is raised when one or more ListView items are selected. When you set the tapBehavior property of the ListView control to the value “directSelect” then tapping or clicking a list item raised both the iteminvoked and selectionchanged event. Tapping a list item causes the item to be selected and the item appears with a checkmark. In our code, we handle the selectionchanged event to update the movie details Template when you select a new movie. Here’s the code from the default.js file used to handle the selectionchanged event: var movieList = document.getElementById("movieList"); var detailsTemplate = document.getElementById("detailsTemplate"); var movieDetails = document.getElementById("movieDetails"); // Setup selectionchanged handler movieList.winControl.addEventListener("selectionchanged", function (evt) { if (movieList.winControl.selection.count() > 0) { movieList.winControl.selection.getItems().then(function (items) { // Clear the template container movieDetails.innerHTML = ""; // Render the template detailsTemplate.winControl.render(items[0].data, movieDetails); }); } }); The code above sets up an event handler (listener) for the selectionchanged event. The event handler first verifies that an item has been selected in the ListView (selection.count() > 0). Next, the details for the movie are rendered using the movie details Template (we created this Template in the previous section). The Complete Code For the sake of completeness, I’ve included the complete code for the master/detail view below. I’ve included both the default.html, default.js, and movies.js files. Here is the final code for the default.html file: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>ListViewMasterDetail</title> <!-- WinJS references --> <link href="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/css/ui-dark.css" rel="stylesheet"> <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/js/base.js"></script> <script src="//Microsoft.WinJS.0.6/js/ui.js"></script> <!-- ListViewMasterDetail references --> <link href="/css/default.css" rel="stylesheet"> <script src="/js/default.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/movies.js"></script> <style type="text/css"> body { font-size: xx-large; } .movie { padding: 5px; } #masterDetail { display: -ms-box; } #movieList { width: 300px; margin: 20px; } #movieDetails { margin: 20px; } </style> </head> <body> <!-- Templates --> <div id="masterItemTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div class="movie"> <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> </div> <div id="detailsTemplate" data-win-control="WinJS.Binding.Template"> <div> <div> Title: <span data-win-bind="innerText:title"></span> </div> <div> Director: <span data-win-bind="innerText:director"></span> </div> </div> </div> <!-- Master/Detail --> <div id="masterDetail"> <!-- Master --> <div id="movieList" data-win-control="WinJS.UI.ListView" data-win-options="{ itemDataSource: ListViewDemos.movies.dataSource, itemTemplate: select('#masterItemTemplate'), tapBehavior: 'directSelect', selectionMode: 'single', layout: { type: WinJS.UI.ListLayout } }"> </div> <!-- Detail --> <div id="movieDetails"></div> </div> </body> </html> Here is the default.js file: (function () { "use strict"; var app = WinJS.Application; app.onactivated = function (eventObject) { if (eventObject.detail.kind === Windows.ApplicationModel.Activation.ActivationKind.launch) { WinJS.UI.processAll(); var movieList = document.getElementById("movieList"); var detailsTemplate = document.getElementById("detailsTemplate"); var movieDetails = document.getElementById("movieDetails"); // Setup selectionchanged handler movieList.winControl.addEventListener("selectionchanged", function (evt) { if (movieList.winControl.selection.count() > 0) { movieList.winControl.selection.getItems().then(function (items) { // Clear the template container movieDetails.innerHTML = ""; // Render the template detailsTemplate.winControl.render(items[0].data, movieDetails); }); } }); } }; app.start(); })();   Here is the movies.js file: (function () { "use strict"; var movies = new WinJS.Binding.List([ { title: "Star Wars", director: "Lucas"}, { title: "Shrek", director: "Adamson" }, { title: "Star Trek", director: "Abrams" }, { title: "Spiderman", director: "Raimi" }, { title: "Memento", director: "Nolan" }, { title: "Minority Report", director: "Spielberg" } ]); // Expose the data source WinJS.Namespace.define("ListViewDemos", { movies: movies }); })();   Summary The purpose of this blog entry was to describe how to create a simple master/detail view by taking advantage of the WinJS ListView control. • Help with converting an XML into a 2D level (Actionscript 3.0)

    - by inzombiak
    I'm making a little platformer and wanted to use Ogmo to create my level. I've gotten everything to work except the level that my code generates is not the same as what I see in Ogmo. I've checked the array and it fits with the level in Ogmo, but when I loop through it with my code I get the wrong thing. I've included my code for creating the level as well as an image of what I get and what I'm supposed to get. EDIT: I tried to add it, but I couldn't get it to display properly Also, if any of you know of better level editors please let me know. xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML); xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("Level1.oel")); function LoadXML(e:Event):void { levelXML = new XML(e.target.data); xmlFilter = levelXML.* for each (var levelTest:XML in levelXML.*) { crack = levelTest; } levelArray = crack.split(''); trace(levelArray); count = 0; for(i = 0; i <= 23; i++) { for(j = 0; j <= 35; j++) { if(levelArray[i*36+j] == 1) { block = new Platform; s.addChild(block); block.x = j*20; block.y = i*20; count++; trace(i); trace(block.x); trace(j); trace(block.y); } } } trace(count);

  • Mixing JavaFX, HTML 5, and Bananas with the NetBeans Platform

    - by Geertjan
    The banana in the image below can be dragged. Whenever the banana is dropped, the current date is added to the viewer: What's interesting is that the banana, and the viewer that contains it, is defined in HTML 5, with the help of a JavaScript and CSS file. The HTML 5 file is embedded within the JavaFX browser, while the JavaFX browser is embedded within a NetBeans TopComponent class. The only really interesting thing is how drop events of the banana, which is defined within JavaScript, are communicated back into the Java class. Here's how, i.e., in the Java class, parse the HTML's DOM tree to locate the node of interest and then set a listener on it. (In this particular case, the event listener adds the current date to the InstanceContent which is in the Lookup.) Here's the crucial bit of code: WebView view = new WebView(); view.setMinSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); view.setPrefSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); final WebEngine webengine = view.getEngine(); URL url = getClass().getResource("home.html"); webengine.load(url.toExternalForm()); webengine.getLoadWorker().stateProperty().addListener( new ChangeListener() { @Override public void changed(ObservableValue ov, State oldState, State newState) { if (newState == State.SUCCEEDED) { Document document = (Document) webengine.executeScript("document"); EventTarget banana = (EventTarget) document.getElementById("banana"); banana.addEventListener("click", new MyEventListener(), true); } } }); It seems very weird to me that I need to specify "click" as a string. I actually wanted the drop event, but couldn't figure out what the arbitrary string was for that. Which is exactly why strings suck in this context. Many thanks to Martin Kavuma from the Technical University of Eindhoven, who I met today and who inspired me to go down this interesting trail.

  • Advanced Experiments with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JavaFX, and Java

    - by Geertjan
    Once you're embedding JavaScript, CSS, and HTML into your Java desktop application, via the JavaFX browser, a whole range of new possibilities open up to you. For example, here's an impressive page on-line, notice that you can drag items and drop them in new places: http://nettuts.s3.amazonaws.com/127_iNETTUTS/demo/index.html The source code of the above is provided too, so you can drop the various files directly into your NetBeans module and use the JavaFX WebEngine to load the HTML page into the JavaFX browser. Once the JavaFX browser is in a NetBeans TopComponent, you'll have the start of an off-line news composer, something like this: WebView view = new WebView(); view.setMinSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); view.setPrefSize(widthDouble, heightDouble); webengine = view.getEngine(); URL url = getClass().getResource("index.html"); webengine.load(url.toExternalForm()); webengine.getLoadWorker().stateProperty().addListener( new ChangeListener() { @Override public void changed(ObservableValue ov, State oldState, State newState) { if (newState == State.SUCCEEDED) { Document document = (Document) webengine.executeScript("document"); NodeList list = document.getElementById("columns").getChildNodes(); for (int i = 0; i < list.getLength(); i++) { EventTarget et = (EventTarget) list.item(i); et.addEventListener("click", new EventListener() { @Override public void handleEvent(Event evt) { instanceContent.add(new Date()); } }, true); } } } }); The above is the code showing how, whenever a news item is clicked, the current date can be published into the Lookup. As you can see, I have a viewer component listening to the Lookup for dates.

  • Uploading images from Flex to Rails using Paperclip

    - by 23tux
    Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to upload images that were created in my flex app to rails. I've tried to use paperclip, but it don't seem to work. I've got this tutorial here: http://blog.alexonrails.net/?p=218 The problem is, that they are using a FileReference to browse for files on the clients computer. They call the .upload(...) function and send the data to the upload controller. But I'm using a URLLoader to upload a image, that is modified in my Flex-App. First, here is the code from the tutorial: private function selectHandler(event:Event):void { var vars:URLVariables = new URLVariables(); var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(uri); request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; vars.description = "My Description"; request.data = vars; var uploadDataFieldName:String = 'filemanager[file]'; fileReference.upload(request, uploadDataFieldName); } I don't know how to set that var uploadDataFieldName:String = 'filemanager[file]'; in a URLLoader. I've got the image data compressed as a JPEG in a ByteArray. It looks like this: public function savePicture():void { var filename:String = "blubblub.jpg"; var vars:URLVariables = new URLVariables(); vars.position = layoutView.currentPicPosition; vars.url = filename; vars.user_id = 1; vars.comic_id = 1; vars.file_content_type = "image/jpeg"; vars.file_file_name = filename; var rawBytes:ByteArray = new JPGEncoder(75).encode(bitmapdata); vars.picture = rawBytes; var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(Data.SERVER_ADDR + "pictures/upload"); request.method = URLRequestMethod.POST; request.data = vars; var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(request); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, savePictureHandler); loader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, errorHandlerUpload); loader.load(request); } If I set the var.picture URLVariable to the bytearray, then I get the error, that the upload is nil. Here is the Rails part: Picture-Model: require 'paperclip' class Picture < ActiveRecord::Base # relations from picture belongs_to :comic belongs_to :user has_many :picture_bubbles has_many :bubbles, :through => :picture_bubbles # attached file for picture upload -> with paperclip plugin has_attached_file :file, :path => "public/system/pictures/:basename.:extension" end and the picture controller with the upload function: class PicturesController < ApplicationController protect_from_forgery :except => :upload def upload @picture = Picture.new(params[:picture]) @picture.position = params[:position] @picture.comic_id = params[:comic_id] @picture.url = params[:url] @picture.user_id = params[:user_id] if @picture.save render(:nothing => true, :status => 200) else render(:nothing => true, :status => 500) end end end Does anyone know how to solve this problem? thx, tux

  • iPad: Mobile Safari, HTML5 <video>, and jquery transitions

    - by justinbach
    I'm building a simple proof-of-concept for an iPad-specific website that would use video transitions to bring users from section to section. For purposes of the proof of concept, each "section" is just an image with a semitransparent content text box positioned above it. There are just 2 sections, "home" and "contact", and they've got a transition video sandwiched between them via z-indexing. The idea for the proof of concept is that clicking on the "home" section causes it to disappear, followed by playback of the transition video, which (upon completion) disappears to reveal the "contact" section. Everything is working fine with this version of the demo on the iPad and on Safari for Windows and OS X. Here's the JS: var myVideo = document.getElementsByTagName('video')[0]; $('document').ready(function() { $('#home').click(function() { $(this).css('display','none'); myVideo.play(); myVideo.addEventListener('ended', function() { $('#transition').css('display','none'); }); }); }); What I'd like to do is use a jQuery fadeOut() effect to fade out the text box prior to starting the video when the "home" section is clicked. The code seems simple enough: $('document').ready(function() { $('#home').click(function() { $('#home-copy').fadeOut('slow', function() { $('#home').css('display','none'); myVideo.play(); myVideo.addEventListener('ended', function() { $('#transition').css('display','none'); $('#home-copy').fadeIn('slow'); }); }); }); }); and it's working exactly as desired on desktop versions of Safari. On the iPad, however, the text box fades out as expected and the home section disappears as well, but the video stubbornly refuses to start playing. I really don't know why this would be the case, but that's what's happening. I'd appreciate any advice you might have! Incidentally, here's the markup: <div id="main-container"> <div id="home-copy"> <h1>Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet</h1> <p>Donec blandit pharetra luctus. Nam at porttitor odio. Nullam sem orci, venenatis sed pharetra eget, commodo rhoncus quam. Ut euismod vehicula bibendum. Curabitur in magna ante, id fringilla lacus. Nullam id elit eget lacus feugiat porta. Nulla vitae orci vehicula risus sagittis egestas quis sed justo.</p> </div> <div id="home"> <img src="images/home.jpg" width="1152" height="720" /> </div> <video id="transition" src="video/home_to_contact_lo_res.mp4" preload width="1152" height="720"></video> <div id="contact"> <img src="images/contact.jpg" width="1152" height="720" /> </div> </div>

  • JS: using 'var me = this' to reference an object instead of using a global array

    - by Marco Demaio
    The example below, is just an example, I know that I don't need an object to show an alert box when user clicks on div blocks, but it's just a simple example to explain a situation that frequently happens when writing JS code. In the example below I use a globally visible array of objects to keep a reference to each new created HelloObject, in this way events called when clicking on a div block can use the reference in the arry to call the HelloObject's public function hello(). 1st have a look at the code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <title>Test </title> <script type="text/javascript"> /***************************************************** Just a cross browser append event function, don't need to understand this one to answer my question *****************************************************/ function AppendEvent(html_element, event_name, event_function) {if(html_element) {if(html_element.attachEvent) html_element.attachEvent("on" + event_name, event_function); else if(html_element.addEventListener) html_element.addEventListener(event_name, event_function, false); }} /****************************************************** Just a test object ******************************************************/ var helloobjs = []; var HelloObject = function HelloObject(div_container) { //Adding this object in helloobjs array var id = helloobjs.length; helloobjs[id] = this; //Appending click event to show the hello window AppendEvent(div_container, 'click', function() { helloobjs[id].hello(); //THIS WORKS! }); /***************************************************/ this.hello = function() { alert('hello'); } } </script> </head><body> <div id="one">click me</div> <div id="two">click me</div> <script type="text/javascript"> var t = new HelloObject(document.getElementById('one')); var t = new HelloObject(document.getElementById('two')); </script> </body></html> In order to achive the same result I could simply replace the code //Appending click event to show the hello window AppendEvent(div_container, 'click', function() { helloobjs[id].hello(); //THIS WORKS! }); with this code: //Appending click event to show the hello window var me = this; AppendEvent(div_container, 'click', function() { me.hello(); //THIS WORKS TOO AND THE GLOBAL helloobjs ARRAY BECOMES SUPEFLOUS! }); thus would make the helloobjs array superflous. My question is: does this 2nd option in your opinion create memoy leaks on IE or strange cicular references that might lead to browsers going slow or to break??? I don't know how to explain, but coming from a background as a C/C++ coder, doing in this 2nd way sounds like a some sort of circular reference that might break memory at some point. I also read on internet about the IE closures memory leak issue http://jibbering.com/faq/faq_notes/closures.html (I don't know if it was fixed in IE7 and if yes, I hope it does not come out again in IE8). Thanks

  • Organising XML results as cells in container (AS3)

    - by PJ Palomaki
    Hi, I'm having some problems figuring out how to organise data pulled off XML in cells within a container. I'm sure this should be a basic thing in AS3, but my head's fried.. can anyone help? Basically an array if fed to callThumbs() which iterates through it and compares the entries with preloaded XML _my_images. If match is found, it's sent to processXML which loads all relevant info and loads a .jpg thumbnail. All this is then fed to createCell which creates a specific cell with position values depending on x_counter and y_counter values (4 cells in a row) and adds the cell into a container _container_mc. The Problem: This all works fine and looks fine, the problem is that the cells within the container do not display in descending order. They are in random order, probably because some of the .jpg's takes longer to load etc. How do I easily organise the cells within the container in descending order by the XML .id value? Or how do I tell Flash to wait till the thumbnail and data is loaded and the cell created and added? Thanks guys, would really appreciate all the help! PJ //Flash (AS3) function callThumbs(_my_results:Array):void { // selector = 1 for specific items, 2 for search items var _thumb_url:XML; for (var r:Number=0; r < _my_results.length; r++) { // iterate through results vector, compare with _my_images XML .id for (var i:Number=0; i < _my_images.length(); i++) { if (_my_images[i][email protected]() == _my_results[r]) { _thumb_url=_my_images[i]; processXML(_thumb_url, i); } } } } // End callThumbs function processXML(imageXML:XML, num:Number) { // Processes XML data and loads .jpg thumbnail var _thumb_loader=new Loader(); _thumb_loader.load(new URLRequest("thumbs/thumb_sm/" + imageXML.@id + "_st.jpg")); _thumb_loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,thumbLoaded); _thumb_loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, urlNotFound); var id:XMLList = new XMLList; id = imageXML.@id; var description:XMLList = new XMLList; description = imageXML.@description; function urlNotFound(event:IOErrorEvent):void { trace("The image URL '" + String(imageXML.@id) + "' was not found."); } function thumbLoaded(e:Event):void { var imageLoader:Loader = Loader(e.target.loader); var bm:Bitmap = Bitmap(imageLoader.content); createCell(bm, id, description, num); adjustFooterBar(); // Adjust bottom footer } } // End processXML private function createCell(_image:Bitmap, _id, _description:String, _position):void { // Creates a cell with data, add to container var _cell_mc = new CellTitle(); _cell_mc.initCell(_image, _id, _description, _position, x_counter, y_counter); if (x_counter+1 < 4) { x_counter++; } else { x_counter = 0; y_counter++; } _container_mc.addChild(_cell_mc); // movieclip container } // End createCell

  • Slow Javascript touch events on Android

    - by oneself
    I'm trying to write a simple html based drawing application (standalone simplified code attached bellow). I've tested this on the following devices: iPad 1 and 2: Works great ASUS T101 running Windows: Works great Samsung Galaxy Tab: Extremely slow and patchy -- unusable. Lenovo IdeaPad K1: Extremely slow and patchy -- unusable. Asus Transformer Prime: Noticeable lag compare with the iPad -- close to usable. The Asus tablet is running ICS, the other android tablets are running 3.1 and 3.2. I tested using the stock Android browser. I also tried the Android Chrome Beta, but that was even worse. My questions is why are the Android tablets so slow? Am I doing something wrong or is it an inherit problem with Android OS or browser, or is there anything I can do about it in my code? multi.html: <html> <body> <style media="screen"> canvas { border: 1px solid #CCC; } </style> <canvas style="" id="draw" height="450" width="922"></canvas> <script class="jsbin" src="jquery.js"></script> <script src="multi.js"></script> </body> </html> multi.js: var CanvasDrawr = function(options) { // grab canvas element var canvas = document.getElementById(options.id), ctxt = canvas.getContext("2d"); canvas.style.width = '100%' canvas.width = canvas.offsetWidth; canvas.style.width = ''; // set props from options, but the defaults are for the cool kids ctxt.lineWidth = options.size || Math.ceil(Math.random() * 35); ctxt.lineCap = options.lineCap || "round"; ctxt.pX = undefined; ctxt.pY = undefined; var lines = [,,]; var offset = $(canvas).offset(); var eventCount = 0; var self = { // Bind click events init: function() { // Set pX and pY from first click canvas.addEventListener('touchstart', self.preDraw, false); canvas.addEventListener('touchmove', self.draw, false); }, preDraw: function(event) { $.each(event.touches, function(i, touch) { var id = touch.identifier; lines[id] = { x : this.pageX - offset.left, y : this.pageY - offset.top, color : 'black' }; }); event.preventDefault(); }, draw: function(event) { var e = event, hmm = {}; eventCount += 1; $.each(event.touches, function(i, touch) { var id = touch.identifier, moveX = this.pageX - offset.left - lines[id].x, moveY = this.pageY - offset.top - lines[id].y; var ret = self.move(id, moveX, moveY); lines[id].x = ret.x; lines[id].y = ret.y; }); event.preventDefault(); }, move: function(i, changeX, changeY) { ctxt.strokeStyle = lines[i].color; ctxt.beginPath(); ctxt.moveTo(lines[i].x, lines[i].y); ctxt.lineTo(lines[i].x + changeX, lines[i].y + changeY); ctxt.stroke(); ctxt.closePath(); return { x: lines[i].x + changeX, y: lines[i].y + changeY }; }, }; return self.init(); }; $(function(){ var drawr = new CanvasDrawr({ id: "draw", size: 5 }); });

  • Slideshow positioning problem

But I've been told that when on xp with IE 7 the slidshow gets thrown off screen to the right. What could my issue be? Here is my css: #page { width:940px; margin: auto; } gallery { position:relative; padding:0px; margin:5px 0px; width:940px; height:320px; } gallery li { display: block; width:940px; height:320 list-style:none; } And here is my javascript: var galleryId = 'gallery'; var gallery; var galleryImages; var currentImage; var previousImage; var preInitTimer; preInit(); function preInit() { if ((document.getElementById)&&(gallery=document.getElementById(galleryId))) { gallery.style.visibility = "hidden"; if (typeof preInitTimer != 'undefined') clearTimeout(preInitTimer); } else { preInitTimer = setTimeout("preInit()",2); } } function fader(imageNumber,opacity) { var obj=galleryImages[imageNumber]; if (obj.style) { if (obj.style.MozOpacity!=null) { obj.style.MozOpacity = (opacity/100) - .001; } else if (obj.style.opacity!=null) { obj.style.opacity = (opacity/100) - .001; } else if (obj.style.filter!=null) { obj.style.filter = "alpha(opacity="+opacity+")"; } } } function fadeInit() { if (document.getElementById) { preInit(); galleryImages = new Array; var node = gallery.firstChild; while (node) { if (node.nodeType==1) { galleryImages.push(node); } node = node.nextSibling; } for(i=0;i galleryImages[i].style.position='absolute'; galleryImages[i].style.top=0; galleryImages[i].style.zIndex=0; fader(i,0); } gallery.style.visibility = 'visible'; currentImage=0; previousImage=galleryImages.length-1; opacity=100; fader(currentImage,100); window.setTimeout("crossfade(100)", 1000); } } function crossfade(opacity) { if (opacity < 100) { fader(currentImage,opacity); opacity += 9; window.setTimeout("crossfade("+opacity+")", 50); } else { fader(previousImage,0); previousImage=currentImage; currentImage+=1; if (currentImage=galleryImages.length) { currentImage=0; } galleryImages[previousImage].style.zIndex = 0; galleryImages[currentImage].style.zIndex = 100; opacity=0; window.setTimeout("crossfade("+opacity+")", 5000); } } addEvent(window,'load',fadeInit) function addEvent(elm, evType, fn, useCapture) { if (elm.addEventListener){ elm.addEventListener(evType, fn, useCapture); return true; } else if (elm.attachEvent){ var r = elm.attachEvent("on"+evType, fn); return r; } } And ideas?
