  Hi I am trying to set the value of a field on a ListItem in an event receiver but its not working All i am doing during the event is properties.AfterProperties[<field internal name>] = 1; No errors are thrown but the the field i'm setting does not change. I have also tried properties.ListItem[<field internal name>] = 1; properties.ListItem.Update(); Have also tried SystemUpdate(); I know i am meant to be setting the afterproperties but think i am missing an obvious step.   I just need to change order of items in a (previously persisted) ordered collection... I tried simply passing the re-arranged collection to a setter: after committing a transaction the collection is gone. Then I tried to clear() the existing collection and addAll() afterwards: clear() makes persistent manager to mark all the elements as deleted. (But obviously I would like to be able to work with the collection items in the very transaction.) (The collection is not in a default fetch group, so I tried the above also with the named fetch group added into the fetch plan. No luck.) This must be the most stupid question, but I ran out of ideas and I'm stuck here two days already. I swear I googled. :(

• Need to change ip address in app.config in runtime without runnning as admin

  Hey guys, There's a lot of post saying how to change info in the app.config and there are posts that say you shouldn't edit info in the app.config but store info in user folders. I understand these topics. But what i want is a combination of both. I have a wcf setup for my client in an app.config, which contains the endpoint address to which it should connect. When The server changes ip, or when a client is installed on a computer in another company, the user should be able to insert another ip-address which should be stored in the app.config. This cannot be stored in a file in appdata or something like that, as the client reads the info in the app.config on startup. How can i write (so remember the new ip-address) in the app.config when the client is installed in program files, the UAC is enabled and the program isn't run as an admin? Thanks in advance.

  Django newbie here. I wrote simplified login form which takes email and password. It works great if both email and password are supplied, but if either is missing i get KeyError exception. According to django documentation this should never happen: By default, each Field class assumes the value is required, so if you pass an empty value -- either None or the empty string ("") -- then clean() will raise a ValidationError exception I tried to write my own validators for fields (clean_email and clean_password), but it doesn't work (ie I get KeyError exception).   I am trying to create Facebook based login using Javascript. Once a person clicks a button he should get a div replaced by another div, if he is logged in to Facebook. However, if he is not logged in to Facebook he is asked his Facebook credentials and he logs in. However, we need the user to click the button once more for the div replacement to happen in this case. I want to know if there is a way in which I can catch the Facebook login event and change the div? Is polling a way or there is some other way out. I want to use only Javascript.

  I'm trying to make the change here: http://fluxbox-wiki.org/index.php?title=Howto_Make_dblclick_titlebar_maximize I am using the current git version of the fluxbox source. I assume that those instructions are perhaps no longer valid for the current git version. In the void FluxboxWindow::setupWindow() function I can see no references to CommandRef or frame. I would like to know if it is possible that I could work out where they should go in that function, with only having a limited knowledge? I am still trying to learn programming and don't know enough just yet to work out where they should go. I assume I can't just paste in the suggested lines anywhere in that function, but why not? I can paste the source if needed, but I am unsure where to paste to.

• Element Positioning affected by Browser Screen Resolution Change

  Hello, newbie developer here. There's this small problem I always encounter. Every time I try to change browser resolution (or what do you call the event when you scroll the mouse wheel while pressing ctrl), some elements (Mostly form elements) get to be shifted down or somewhere else, which does not conform with the original positioning. Im not sure if the problem is with the CSS or the markup itself and Im not really sure if this is much of a problem. Should I ignore it? (It doesn't feel very comfortable though, thinking that it might become problematic in the near future) Otherwise, any solution on how to avoid this? Simple explanations are very much appreciated, Thanks. (Perhaps the used term newbie should be replaced with noob?. Haha.)

  Hi, Is there a way in CSS or JQuery where I can dynamically change the background of li tags so they get slightly lighter for each element until it gets to white. For example say I had a list of 10 li elements. The first would have a red (#ff0000) background, the next one would then be a lighter shade of red, and so on and so on until we got to the last one which would have a background of white (#FFFFFF) The list can be any length and i just want the background colour to go from one colour e.g. red to another colour e.g. white. My site uses JQuery so if I have to use that I don't mind. Thanks

• Why acegi (Spring Security) converts password to uppercase before comparing ?

  One of my colleague in QA team reported a bug to me, the bug said that can't change password to lowercase, otherwise login is rejected,using number or uppercase is all fine. The login system was implemented using acegi 1.0 (now called Spring Security). This was a very strange bug,changing password is done by encrypting the user input string into MD5 string, I implemented this without using anything related acegi, I don't if the is the origin cause of the problem. When the login is rejected, through debugging, I find that, the user input is converted into uppercase by acegi when passing to the acegi comparing logic. At first, I didn't believe this, when I checkout the acegi source and debugging with it, I find it does convert both username and password to uppercase (source code line 121), Can you tell me why it does this? This can cause password encoding mismatch!

  In the following code segment, after free(x), why does y becomes 0? As per my understanding, the memory in the heap that was being pointed to by x, and is still being pointed by y, hasn't been allocated to someone else, so how can it change to 0? And moreover, I don't think it is free(x) that changed it to 0.   I have a django project that uses a sqlite database that can be written to by an external tool. The text is supposed to be UTF-8, but in some cases there will be errors in the encoding. The text is from an external source, so I cannot control the encoding. Yes, I know that I could write a "wrapping layer" between the external source and the database, but I prefer not having to do this, especially since the database already contains a lot of "bad" data. The solution in sqlite is to change the text_factory to something like: lambda x: unicode(x, "utf-8", "ignore") However, I don't know how to tell the Django model driver this.

• Why does tomcat-admin install require adding admin and manager to tomcat-users.xml manually?

  I installed tomcat6 on lucid using apt-get. All working. I installed tomcat-admin. Not working. I amended the /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml file to uncomment the users and roles (from the default) to be like the following: <role rolename="tomcat"/> <role rolename="role1"/> <user username="tomcat" password="password" roles="tomcat"/> <user username="both" password="password" roles="tomcat,role1"/> <user username="role1" password="password" roles="role1"/> This still didn't work. Then from the following page I added. <role rolename="manager"/> <user username="admin" password="secret" roles="manager"/> then it worked. Why doesn't this occur as part of the install? (Why isn't this in the Ubuntu Manual on Tomcat ?)

  I'm running nginx 1.3.5 under windows seven, I need to execute nginx directly from a read-only media (CD or DVD), but when I want to run it, it fails with this error: nginx: [alert] could not open error log file: CreateFile() "logs/error.log" fail ed (5: Access is denied) 2012/08/28 13:52:46 [emerg] 5604#2864: CreateDirectory() "J:\nginx-1.3.5/temp/client_body_temp" failed (5: Access is denied) where J is my CD-ROM drive letter. I've changed nginx.conf to disable logging completely, but seems anyway it still tries to build a file named 'error.log' in '/logs' folder & some extra temporary contents in '/temp' folder at the startup, so I want to change 'logs' & 'temp' directory path to windows temp folder (%temp%), but I dont have any idea that how can I do it. Also I want to know why nginx still creates 'logs/error.log' after disableing error logging ?

  I have some grunt tasks to compile files and would like to "recicle" them inside different tasks. I am trying to modify the destination directory without success... My idea is something like: grunt.registerTask('bower', ['compile:index', 'compile:core'], function(){ this.options({dest: 'dist/*.js'}); }); The compile:index task runs good by itself (i.e. when called alone) and has dest: 'index.js, other tasks have other filenames. I would like to change these inside the bowertask, adding a new directory but keeping the filename defined in the original task. Is this possible?

• I can't change HTTP request header Content-Type value using jQuery

  Hi I tried to override HTTP request header content by using jQuery's AJAX function. It looks like this $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : url, data : data, contentType: "application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=big5", beforeSend: function(xhr) { xhr.setRequestHeader("Accept-Charset","big5"); xhr.setRequestHeader("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded;charset=big5"); }, success: function(rs) { target.html(rs); } }); Content-Type header is default to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8", but it obviously I can't override its value no matter I use 'contentType' or 'beforeSend' approaches. Could anyone adivse me a hint that how do I or can I change the HTTP request's content-type value? thanks a lot. btw, is there any good documentation that I can study JavaScript's XMLHttpRequest's encoding handling?
