Im creating customizable product attributes in a web store - each attribute can have different type of data, each data type is stored in a separate column using corresponding mysql datatype. I Have a query like: SELECT products.id AS id, products.sku AS sku, products.name AS name, products.url_key AS url_key, attributes.name AS attribute, CASE WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'text' THEN product_attribute_values.value_text WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'float' THEN product_attribute_values.value_float WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'price' THEN product_attribute_values.value_float WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'integer' THEN product_attribute_values.value_integer WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'multiple' THEN product_attribute_values.value_text WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'dropdown' THEN product_attribute_values.value_text WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'date' THEN product_attribute_values.value_date WHEN `attribute_types`.`type` = 'textarea' THEN product_attribute_values.value_textarea END as value from (...) Now, the problem is that when attribute_types.type equals to ?some-type? i want it to return a value as it's stored in product_attribute_values table. Currently I get BLOb every time. Should I use type-casting or there's some behind-the-scene magic that I dont know about, OR maybe there's some better alternative ?

  Hi, I wan't to compare two strings in a SQL request so I can retrieve the best match, the aim is to propose to an operator the best zip code possible. For example, in France, we have Integer Zip code, so I made an easy request : SELECT * FROM myTable ORDER BY abs(zip_code - 75000) This request returns first the data closest of Paris. Unfortunatelly, United Kingdom have zip code like AB421RS, so my request can't do it. I see in SQL Server a function 'Difference' : http://www.java2s.com/Code/SQLServer/String-Functions/DIFFERENCEworkoutwhenonestringsoundssimilartoanotherstring.htm But I use MySQL.. Is there anyone who have a good idea to do the trick in one simple request ? PS : the Levenshtein Distance will not do it, as I really wan't to compare string like if they were number. ABCDEF have to be closer to AWXYZ than to ZBCDEF.

  I've been using java to parse numbers, e.g. (. Integer parseInt numberString) Is there a more clojuriffic way that would handle both integers and floats, and return clojure numbers? I'm not especially worried about performance here, I just want to process a bunch of white space delimited numbers in a file and do something with them, in the most straightforward way possible. So a file might have lines like: 5 10 0.0002 4 12 0.003 And I'd like to be able to transform the lines into vectors of numbers.

  I have a windows forms app with a textbox control that I want to only accept integer values. In the past I've done this kind of validation by overloading the KeyPress event and just removing characters which didn't fit the specification. I've looked at the MaskedTextBox control but I'd like a more general solution that could work with perhaps a regular expression, or depend on the values of other controls. Ideally this would behave such that pressing a non numeric character would either produce no result or immediately provide the user with feedback about the invalid character.

  Hi There, I have an Entity Model that has Items, which can belong to one or more categories, and which can have one or more tags. I need to write a query that finds all tags for a given ItemCategory, preferably with a single call to the database, as this is going to get called fairly often. I currently have: Dim q = (From ic In mContext.ItemCategory _ Where ic.CategoryID = forCategoryID _ Select ic).SelectMany(Function(cat) cat.Items).SelectMany(Function(i) i.Tags) _ .OrderByDescending(Function(t) t.Items.Count).ToList This is nearly there, apart from it doesn't contain the items for each tag, so I'd have to iterate through, loading the item reference to find out how many items each tag is related to (for font sizing). Ideally, I want to return a List(Of TagCount), which is just a structure, containing Tag as string, and Count as integer. I've looked at Group and Join, but I'm not getting anywhere so any help would be greatly appreciated!

• Doing 64 bit manipulation using 32 bit data in Fixed point arithmetic using C.

  Hi, I am stuck with a problem. I am working on a hardware which only does support 32 bit operations. sizeof(int64_t) is 4. Sizeof(int) is 4. and I am porting an application which assumes size of int64_t to be 8 bytes. The problem is it has this macro BIG_MULL(a,b) ( (int64_t)(a) * (int64_t)(b) 23) The result is always a 32 bit integer but since my system doesn't support 64 bit operation, it always return me the LSB of the operation, rounding of all the results making my system crash. • Is there a way to chain multiple value converters in XAML?

  I've got a situation in which I need to show an integer value, bound to a property on my data context, after putting it through two separate conversions: Reverse the value within a range (e.g. range is 1 to 100; value in datacontext is 90; user sees value of 10) convert the number to a string I realise I could do both steps by creating my own converter (that implements IValueConverter). However, I've already got a separate value converter that does just the first step, and the second step is covered by Int32Converter. Is there a way I can chain these two existing classes in XAML without having to create a further class that aggregates them? If I need to clarify any of this, please let me know. :) Thanks.

  Hi, I'm automating Word with Delphi, but some times I got an error message: The requested member of the collection does not exist It seems that the Item member of the Styles collection class does not always exist and some times causes the above mentioned error. My workaround is to catch the exception and skip it, but is there anyway to detect it instead of using the try...except block? The problem with the try...except block is that when debugging the raised exception is annoying... I have a code snippet that looks like this: [tableView beginUpdates]; [tableView deleteRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:indexPath] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationLeft]; [tableView insertRowsAtIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:[array indexOfObject:[array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]]] withRowAnimation:UITableViewRowAnimationLeft]; [tableView endUpdates]; [tableView reloadData]; It gets executed when a user clicks on an accessory. The first part is only there to provide a smooth animation, and does not really matter, as the tableView is reloaded milliseconds later, but as I said, it's there to provide an animation. It is supposed to move a selected object from its current indexPath to the value from an array at the same indexPath. Obviously, this code does not work, so I just want to know what can be done to fix it? PS: I get a warning when compiling, too. The usual "passing argument 1 of 'arrayWithObject:' makes pointer from integer without a cast..." (line 3)

  HI, I'm completely new to Bash and StackOverflow. I need to move a set of files (all contained in the same folder) to a target folder where files with the same name could already exist. In case a specific file exists, I need to rename the file before moving it, by appending for example an incremental integer to the file name. The extensions should be preserved. The file names could contain dots in the middle. Originally, I was thinking about comparing the two folders to have a list of the existing files (I did this with "comm"), but then I got a bit stuck. I think I'm just trying to do things in the most complicated possible way. Any hint to do this in the "bash way"?
