    We have been using Jquery from this link http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.13/jquery-ui.min.js for drag and drop. Suddenly we notice it is not working now and there is no code change done our side. We notice the error is pointing to these line and error is TypeError: a.curCSS is not a function?     I am using a javascript function (F) (jquery )which uses 3 select values selected by the user to calculates a value - R(result) R is a number ranging from (1 through 9), (11) and (22); I need 2 extra steps one before the calculation and one after. a. Before calculation takes place: Make sure all three select values are changed before function(F) takes place. If not prompt the user with a notice ( create dom element/ I am using jquery) b. After the value R is calculated show an element corresponding to the result e.g. if R is 1 show an element ( a predetermined "link" element corresponding to each result value) thanks a lot.

  • jQuery AJAX & an ASP.NET web service works locally but not remotely

    Interesting one here. I have an ASP.NET 1.1 project that contains a web service in it. I'm using jQuery's AJAX functionality to call some services from the client. This is what my code looks like: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: 'foo.asmx/functionName', data: 'foo1=' + foo1 + '&foo2=' + foo2, dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { //do something with my xml data }, error: function(request, error){ //handle my error } }); This works great when I run the site from my IDE on localhost. However, when I deploy this site to any other server I get a parsererror error from jQuery. It does not appear to even call my service as I dropped in some code to write a log file to disk and it's not making it there. The same exact XML should be returned from both my localhost and the server I deployed to. Any ideas?

    Hi, JQuery newbie here! I'm having difficulty stacking more than one slideshow with each it's own individual controls. The one slideshow works just fine.     I have a standard jquery ui accordion and I load content into it using a link_to_remote tag (in the accordion header). All this works fine. The problem is, once the content is loaded, I dont want a ajax call, I just want the accordion to fold, like it should normally do.   • Targeting an iFrame once with jQuery

    Hi, I have a series of frames (4) which are used in a page to create loading of dynamic content through Ajax calls. In each of these frames I target parent level elements and update them with there respective content e.g. $("#loadingGrid1",top.document).show(); $("#frameSkills",top.document).hide(); In jQuery is there a way to instead of targeting specific elements on the parent page multiple times, simply target the page once into a variable e.g. var parentPage=$('#frameSkills',top.document); And then use this variable to apply content like $(parentPage #loadingGrid1).hide() Hope I've explained what I'm after enough. Basically, I'm having to call "top.document" in every jQuery selector I make and it seems like a waste of energy.

This is my first project shunning the AJAX libs in favor of jQuery, so I'm not sure how I can get the codebehind to recognize the manipulated innerHTML. I've set all the spans I want to tap into with runat="server", but all I pull are the values I've set when the page was designed. What steps should I be taking to enable communication between the client-side and my codebehind, and am I even using the best practice here?

But i debugged it with jquery.lint because it was throwing some random error in IE. lint tells me: When I called animate(...) with your args, an error was thrown! TypeError: c.speed is not a function { message="c.speed is not a function", more...} You passed: [Object { marginLeft="-=640px"}, 800, function()] and it indicates me the line i have posted. I have checked the jquery doc, but my syntax seams ok. Do you know what i am doing wrong?

    Hello, I have a site with menu, which reloads content. Content is dynamically loadable, using ajax and php-script. At different content pages I need in different jquery-plugins. But If I'm writing including need plugin directly in some content page, I get a big lags during loading. So, now I'm includgin all plugins into main page... And it's not the best idea... Any suggestion? UPD: I have a div with content. Content is shown with effects (rolling up/down). When part of menu is clicked, I'm sending ajax-responce to the php script, which reads need text from database and returns it to the main page, from which I sent the responce. Than I'm pasting that content into a div and roll id down. So I'll include jquery-plugins in content pages, the animation of rolling will'nt be normal.

  • Create a (edit) hyperlink in front of dropdownbox with jQuery

    I have a table with some data. All data is contained in dropdownboxes and textbox. But it isn't easy to see, what is newly written input and what is data from the database. So I want to create a (edit) after these boxes, and replace the boxes with a literal where the contained value in the dropdownbox stands. When the edit-button is pushed the literal goes away and the dropdownbox appears instead, so it is possible to edit the data. This is all, the jQuery don't have to save the data to database, I have functionality to that in a save-button. I don't want to use any extra plugin to jQuery, because it seems to be a fairly simpel task. Any good ideas?

  • How to dynamically set div size?

    I have a div container with a text that has been previously typed in by the user. I would like to adjust the size of the div to this text. I cannot have fixed size because I dont know the length of the text. If there is no size specified div takes the width of entire window. This cause some problems for me because I am using JQuery draggable plugin and the scrollbars appear immediately when the div is dragged. Any advice on that?

    I am wondering how to grab the selected item's text value on jquery autocomplete. Inside this function I want to some extra handling to feed data into correct textboxes but I can't figure out how to grab the text value of the selected item.     Hi, I have a page that is supposed to display a larger version of an image when hovered over a thumbnail. I have a 'div' with an ID and the JQuery code is as following: $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').hover(function() { var src = $("#im" + this.id).attr("src"); $('#viewlarge').css('backgroundImage','url(' + src +')'); return false; }); }); The images I use, are generated by a Ruby script that "generate" an image with a similar, yet different id. However, sometimes, photo's are uploaded that have "spaces" inside. My developer tools tell me that the background-image is not set correctly, yet the image path is correct and the browser don't have problems finding the image. My question is, can I somehow sanitize the url 'src', so spaces won't be a problem? I am aware of doing this server side, yet I would like to know how to do this with JQuery/JS too. Thanks!

    I've got an issue where I was tying to center images using the jQuery Cycle plugin. I found this solution, but it wasn't working on single images (there isn't always 2 images), so I wrote my own little bit of code, which seems to be working, except it sometimes doesn't subtract the height of the image from the height of the div, and so i end up with a margin of 310px. var $image_cnt = $("#images > img").size(); if($image_cnt < 2) { var $single_img = $("#images").children(':first-child'); var h = $single_img.height(); $single_img.css({ marginTop: (620 - h) / 2, }); $(".next").css("display","none"); $(".prev").css("display","none"); } I haven't used jQuery much, and just wanted to know if I'd missed something simple, or had written something wrong, which is why the marginTop wasn't playing nice.

    Hello eveyone, i using elastic in my script. I have also jQuery Tabs (every will be get over AJAX and content a textarea) and a timer for Saving content all 3 minutes. So some JS code... I have 2 parts on my site, left and right. On the right side i have 2 tabs (jQuery not AJAX) with each one textarea. And Left side between 5-10 Textareas each in Tab but they gonna be loaded only if Tab is activ (AJAX). my Problem is: If i paste a lot of text in a Textarea (1000 characters) the writing get slowed, not fluid, jerky. It ist 100% the elastic problem, without elastic there no Problem while writing. Have some one an idea for the solution of this Porblem? Is it Overload?
