• Black Screen and System Hang - Possibly CPU overheating

  I have this old computer - P4 2.0ghz, 1.2GB RAM and onboard graphics(no external card), 80GBHDD. It has xubuntu installed on it and it regularly hangs when it takes more system resources for say like graphical programs, too many tabs on firefox etc. It just either hangs the system or shows black screen. Tested if it was issue of HD but it wasn't because i have used linux livecd and problem is still the same even if I have removed the HD. I have also tested with USB linux (puppy linux and ubuntu linux on 8gb drives). Tested windows XP as well on this HD and results are the same. Tested another HD on this machine, results are still the same with it. System hangs or goes black screen and requires restart. I thought later it could be thermal heat issue and then applied thermal paste on heatsink but still it fails to work for me. It continues to show symptoms. Another thing which was yet to be tested is changing of CPU fan which was not done because I have not found any fan for old pentium 4 machine in the market. I have to hit online stores (but i am in india and it's hard to find it in online shops which can deliver it to me). So far I don't see this as HD or Monitor or OS issue because I have tested with other HD and results are the same. So it could be either CPU fan or motherboard? What could be possible issue with the hardware?

• Windows 2012 Server: Enable .NET 3.5

  I have a Windows 2012 Server which needs .NET 3.5 installed. Here is what I am trying: Using a Windows 2012 ISO file, 'mount' on the 2012 Server as 'D' drive and then tried both GUI and Command prompt. In case of GUI, I specified the 'alternate source' path to the D drive's 'source/sxs folder but that failed without giving enough info. In case of the command prompt, here is what's happening: dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /source:d:\sources\sxs I get error: Installed but Parent feature not enabled. So I tried another approached: dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /all /source:d:\sources\sxs the above command, per http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2012/05/14/windows-8-and-net-framework-3-5.aspx is supposed to enable parent elements; but running this I get error like 'source not found'. Is there some error in my second command? What else I could do? This is Windows 2012 Server Standard edition. Thanks!

• Windows 7 Unidentified Network problem. Cannot connect to the internet.

  This is my first time on this website, but I was told this was a good place to ask this. I basically have a problem with Windows 7 connecting to my home network. It keeps identifying my home network as unidentified, and it continually does "identifying" until it simply say cannot connect to the Internet. I don't know how this problem occurred. It simply happened one morning. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have a Realtek Network adapter. I don't think its the drivers. I have already tried system restore to a date when my computer was working fine but it still didn't fix the problem. From what Ive read online there was this bug in the services.msc area, something to do with Bonjour service. I cannot find either so I do not think that was the problem. I'll be online for a while, so I can provide any additional details if needed. I don't really know how to explain it because its so fudging complicated. I really appreciate clear and open steps to solving this. I have tried some things like system restore and rolling back drivers, doesn't seem to help.

• Rapidly changing public IP addresses on certain networks?

  I run/develop an online game where many of our users are in southeast asia. I recently went to southeast asia and made an alarming discovery. Anywhere I got internet access, whether it was via 3G, a LAN in a hotel, or wifi in a cafe, both in Singapore and the Philippines, I noticed that my IP address was changing CONSTANTLY. I mean the public IP address, not the private one. I could load a page like whatismyip.com and just hit reload and see a new IP address show up every 5-10 seconds! This has lots of consequences for my online game, as many things "break" if the IP address changes for a given user. Basically, I would like to know more about this. Is there a name for the kind of network or router or paradigm that causes this, so I can read up on it? I don't understand WHY a network would function this way. Does it do this on purpose? Is it for security reasons? Is it to anonymize and protect the identity of the users? Or is it just an "old" method that is mostly obsolete in the rest of the world?   I have a Cisco 877W which I'm using for my home ADSL connection (and as a refresher in Cisco IOS). I've got a working config in-place with my PPPoA connection coming online correctly, and VLANs and other settings configured as I want them, but I can't crack the NTP configuration. For NTP, I have the following defined ntp server 0.uk.pool.ntp.org source Dialer0 ntp server 1.uk.pool.ntp.org source Dialer0 ntp server 2.uk.pool.ntp.org source Dialer0 ntp server 3.uk.pool.ntp.org source Dialer0 This setup works fine when issued in Global Configuration Mode when the Dialer0 interface (ATM0.1) is up. The configuration fails at startup though: Translating "1.uk.pool.ntp.org"...domain server (208.67.222.222) (208.67.220.220) ntp server 1.uk.pool.ntp.org source Dialer0 ^ % Invalid input detected at "^" marker. This is repeated for the other servers defined. Obviously the DNS lookup for the server(s) fails because the DNS servers cannot be accessed because the external interface is not yet online. Is there a way to delay the NTP configuration until afte the Dialer0 interface is fully initialised? Can the NTP commands be triggered by the Line Protocol on the Dialer0 interface transitioning to the up state? Alternatively, can the NTP commands be delayed for 5 minutes after the router has finished initialising? Any advice, or pointers to useful documentation or examples gratefully received ...

• How do I find funny pictures?

  No, not lolcats. And I'm not really looking for a specific site, either. I have often wished that I had some funny picture to illustrate a presentation, a website, a post, an email, or something else. Google image search and stock photo services have hardly ever helped me, although that may be because I'm doing something wrong. Jeff Atwood seems to have no problem to find funny pictures for his codinghorror and stackoverflow blogs, as well as for the error messages on the trilogy sites. One of my favourites was this elephant. Other bloggers also seem to be quite good at it. I'm wondering if I simply lack the creativity or if there's sources or methods I don't know about. I could think of the following ways to get pictures, but I'm not sure whether this is really "how they do it". keep a collection of pictures that you stumbled upon and liked (takes quite some time to build up to a proper library), when you need a picture, there's one in there maybe have pictures on paper, too, like from magazines or ads. when you are looking for a picture, search online (Flickr, Google, stock photos). This has never really worked for me, I don't know why. produce the pictures yourself, i. e. have a good library of source material or find some online and apply some creativity and suitable software. I could imagine that this could work well once you have the practice.

• SQL transaction log backups conflicting with full backups?

  On our SQL servers (2000, 2005, and 2008), we run full backups once a day in the evening, and transaction log backups every 2 hrs. We haven't really worried about these two processes conflicting, but lately we've run into some of the following issues: On one server, the trans log backup occasionally blocks the full backup, and must be manually stopped before the full backup can complete We sometimes end up with a massively-sized trans log backup file (sometimes larger than the full backup!) that seems to occur at the same time the full backup is running. I found a reference that indicate that these are "not allowed" to run at the same time, whatever that means: SQL 2000 Books Online and SQL 2005 Books Online. I'm not sure whether that means that the server will simply prevent them from running simultaneously, or if we ought to be explicitly stopping the log backups while the full backups are running. So are there known conflicts/issues between these? Does the answer differ between SQL versions? Should I have the trans log backup job check to see if the full backup is running before it executes? (and how do I do that...?)

• Outlook Shared Address book and contact not displaying

  We have a shared Exchange addressbook with distribution email groups. When someone connects to the shared addressbook, composes an email to a group, the email distribution list is empty, then the distribution list is expanded. In troubleshooting, I noticed that when we expand the distribution list to view the recipients, most of the recipients are missing and only semicolons appear. CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE Further troubleshooting, I notice that when I open the distribution list with my Outlook client and click on the Update Now icon, and then go to create the email then when I expand the group the email addresses now appear. CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE Now, my Outlook profile is a cached profile. The shared contact list that I pulled the distribution list from is an online/non-cached shared contact list. What I also found is that if I switched my Outlook client to be online only(not cached) the share address book lists appear properly when expanded. Is there any way to make this list appear correctly without having to click on update now for each and every distribution list in the shared contacts list we have on the server? I would really prefer that every time one wants to use this shared contact list, they do not have o click the update not button or switch from cached mode to make this work. T.I.A

• .NET 3.5 installation comes up with Error 0x800F0906, then 0x800F0081F using dism

  I've recently tried installing .NET 3.5 for an application on Windows 8.1. I used the OS's popup thing to download/install .NET 3.5 and always get error code 0x800F0906. Upon further research, I found I would have to pop in my Windows 8 CD and install it with this command, where "E:\" is where my CD is mounted: Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:E:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess This and any derivative of it (e.g., removing /LimitAccess) has not worked for me and has either given me the same error code (0x800F0906) or a different one, 0x800F0081F. I've even copied the sxs folder to my hard drive, just in case something was going on with the CD Drive, only to have the same results. In that case, I used this command line: Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:C:\dotnet35 /LimitAccess I find this surreal because in both cases, the files are indeed there but the program thinks it's not. Here's the CBS.log file. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help is very appreciated :) EDIT: I now have a proper dism.log file, I'm not sure what happened to the last one or why it did that. Here's the link to the new log file. It's interesting to note that it doesn't recognize some of the commands in the script such as "featurename" or "source".

• Networking - intermittent, slow speeds

  Hi all I'm a novice when it comes to networking. I live in a large two storey building that used to be a school and we have an internet connection with BT (british telecoms provider), the connection speed is 12Mb.. Basically our connection is slow and very intermittent and I was wondering if anybody here could provide some help or ideas. There are about 11 people in the building who could be online at any time. We have a router on the ground floor which is bog standard supplied by BT. To provide Broadband access to the 1st and 2nd floors, we used an old switch that the school left, we have a cable running from the router on the first floor to the switch which connects to a wireless router which is configured as a bridge on the 2nd floor supplying broadband access to the 1st and 2nd floors. Additionally we have 3 computers that are connected via the switch through the ethernet sockets left by the school on the ground floor. The router we use on the 2nd floor came in a pack of 2 and cost about £15 (bought by another person). Sometimes the connection is perfectly fine, i.e. early hours of the morning or when everybody is out, we have rang BT who say that the connection cannot cope with the numbers of people online, plus I'm not sure whether each person is streaming etc. Can anybody offer any advice?

• Getting Windows (VMware) to load from OSX's localhost without an Internet Connection

  I'm using MAMP to host my local sites, and VirtualHostX so that I can access sites during local development via a convenient URL like mysite.dev I'm also running Windows XP via VirtualBox, and it would be great to be able to load up any of my local sites within windows while offline as currently often working without access, on the move, unfortunately. I know that I can append my IP and a nice domain name to the host file in C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc ... and i can find my IP simply through terminal with "ifconfig" while I'm online. The problem is that when I'm not online, there's no IP. Even if there is an IP (when i have a connection), I still have grab it and update the windows hosts' file all the time, since I'm developing from a laptop and have a new IP at the drop of a dime. I found a tutorial where the author is able to get a permanent IP. He uses VMware Fusion as his VMachine, which is the only difference between his setup and mine. By running the terminal command "ifconfig vmnet1" he gets: a secret IP the virtual machine uses to talk to OSX And that doesn't change - which is awesome. I'm assuming it exists even if he's offline. • Trying to understand Wireless N vs Wireless AC

  Whenever a new wireless standard gets approved you expect faster speeds and longer range. From everything that I've read about it, it seems that AC will only transfer over the 5GHz band and up to 3Gbps. Studying the new AC routers on the market, it seems that they will transfer over 5GHz and 2.4GHz. And 5GHz will only transfer at 1.3Gbps. Which isn't what AC is supposed to be. I know there is a difference between what the standard actually says, and what products will actually do, but is there any reason for this? Is there any other main differences between AC and N? I've heard people discussing AC and saying that it's finally "fixing" what N was supposed to fix... what do they mean by that? Any security benefits? I have seen this image online: Will AC really do that? Will that require an AC network card in my laptop for that to actually happen? Lastly, will the router only be able to communicate with AC devices if I have beamforming technology on? I know it's a ton of questions, but most articles online seem to be outdated, and don't provide too much reliability.

• 8007064c(2011) and 80280007(2009) persistant after all known repairs

  I'm on Windows 7 Home x64, and have ran into a major issue with Live Messenger(which I use daily). I have full offline installers for both 2011 and the last Wave 3 2009(14.0.8117.0416) Suites. Both give the following errors: Live Essentials 2011 Offline installer(official): An unknown error occured. Error:0x8007064c Source WLXSuite WL 2009 offline installer(official): You already have a more recent version of Windows Live. Error: OnCatalogResult:0x80280007 Next steps: If you want to install this older version, first uninstall any later versions that are on your computer. Get help with this error The 2011 installer also says it is updating messenger, I don't select anything else. Then last 2009 installer says their is a newer version that needs uninstalled even after the following procedures. MS Help pages provided all basically lead to using uninstall from control panel. Which I've uninstalled all Live components including watcom safety scanner and portable SQL from. I've followed online instructions for manually deleting folders from Program Files(x86), Appdata, and some others under \User\All Users and the one for the one account on the machine. I've used CCcleaner 3.01, ASC 3.7.3 and Beta 4 with deep scan along with deleting folders, and checked their uninstallers for Live components too, and none were there. wlmuninstaller.exe tool reports nothing, but after a failed install it finds something, but failes to clean it under all user admin privilege. The same errors still occur after all of that. Google searching I see people on forums suggesting reinstalling the OS cause MS doesn't even know how to fix this, but I'm hoping someone here can help. NOTE: I don't have System Restore or any other state freeze utilities going, and I don't have any real time AV going(I sometime scan with defender, anti rootkits, and online scanners). • How to give wife emergency access to logins, passwords, etc.?

  I'm the digital guru in my household. My wife is good with email and forum websites but she trusts me with all our important digital stuff -- such as online banking and other things that require passwords, but also family photos and the plethora of other digital things in a modern home. We discuss relevant actions but it's always me that executes the actions. If I should get "hit by a bus" then my wife would be thoroughly stranded -- she would have no idea what digital stuff is where on our computer, how to access it, what online accounts we have, and their login credentials are. It would also leave my many public appearances (personal websites, email accounts, social networks, etc.) unresolved. To complicate things, I'm one of those people who don't use password as my password everywhere; I use a mix of SuperGenPass and LastPass, and also two-factor authentication whenever possible. I don't have much hope that she would find her way through a written explanation of all that in a stressful situation. I could just tell her that she should ask my tech-savvy twin brother and then entrust him with my LastPass master passphrase. I feel that would have a high chance of success, but it's inelegant and leaves my wife without control of the information. How can I ensure that my wife has access to my digital remains?

  I've been reading a lot online about custom URL handlers / custom protocol handlers such as: Launching External Applications using Custom Protocols under OSX OS X URL handler to open links to local files I get that you can tell the system that a particular program is able to handle a certain scheme / protocol with the Info.plist file: <key>CFBundleURLTypes</key> <array> <dict> <key>CFBundleURLName</key> <string>Local File</string> <key>CFBundleURLSchemes</key> <array> <string>local</string> </array> </dict> </array> <key>NSUIElement</key> <true/> But if there are multiple applications that are capable of opening the same URL handler, such as mailto: how do you specify which one you want the system to use? There were some references to utilities like the More Internet preference pane which no longer seems to be available from the author's site. I did find it online by Googling but it seems a bit shaky - like it was written for an older OSX - perhaps Tiger. I haven't been able to find information on how to set the URL handler for protocols and custom protocols. I'm assuming there is a plist file somewhere that I can edit - or maybe there is a newer, better utility that works well with Mountain Lion?

  I have a SanDisk Cruser Blade USB stick that suddenly seems to be write protected. I tried running DiskPart but after I write the command "attributes disk clear readonly" it displays this: Microsoft DiskPart version 5.1.3565 ADD - Add a mirror to a simple volume. ACTIVE - Marks the current basic partition as an active boot partition. ASSIGN - Assign a drive letter or mount point to the selected volume. BREAK - Break a mirror set. CLEAN - Clear the configuration information, or all information, off the disk. CONVERT - Converts between different disk formats. CREATE - Create a volume or partition. DELETE - Delete an object. DETAIL - Provide details about an object. EXIT - Exit DiskPart EXTEND - Extend a volume. HELP - Prints a list of commands. IMPORT - Imports a disk group. LIST - Prints out a list of objects. INACTIVE - Marks the current basic partition as an inactive partition. ONLINE - Online a disk that is currently marked as offline. REM - Does nothing. Used to comment scripts. REMOVE - Remove a drive letter or mount point assignment. REPAIR - Repair a RAID-5 volume. RESCAN - Rescan the computer looking for disks and volumes. RETAIN - Place a retainer partition under a simple volume. SELECT - Move the focus to an object. It's like when you type help at the DiskPart prompt, so how do I get past this? This problem started when I plugged the stick into a laptop which had viruses, if that's any help.

• Setting MSN or Yahoo! Messenger status to Invisible or Offline when idle for an hour

  Where, or how, do I set it up in MSN Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger to automatically switch my status to either "Invisible" or "Offline" when idle for a half hour, or an hour? I know how to set my status as "Away" or "Busy" after 10 minutes, but can't seem to find a way to set the offline status options without manual intervention. Back story As a software developer, I am very used to turning the computer on for the whole day and not turning it back off. (For example, checking email for urgent fixes, fix issue and push to web server). It's not even turned off when heading to sleep in case I might find it hard to fall asleep and come back to check on the computer. Or to have it there ready in the morning to check that everything is okay. If I'm seen as being online for 24 hours of a day, some people see me as weird. Their perception of my value decreases as I'm always there (hard to get = high value; always there = low value). Leaving it on makes everyone in my contacts list think I have nothing better to do all day than sit in front of the computer. Even though it's my job and I do admittedly spend more time online than other people. That's why I'd like to find a way to set my status as Invisible or Offline.

I have never done any type of scripting or coding before and I have been teaching myself online by learning from the technet script centre and online forums. • Installing and running a guest OS on KVM-qemu with only serial console access

  I am trying to installing a bsd distro with virt-installer. With a Linux distro I used this: virt-install -n debian -r 1024 --vcpus=1 --accelerate -v --disk /var/kvm/installation-disks/debian.img,size=6--nographics --network=bridge:br0,model=ne2k_pci,mac=52:54:00:66:68:09 -l http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/squeeze/main/installer-amd64/current/images/ -x console=ttyS0,115200 This loads the installer directly from the online mirror. With Fedora I used this mirror: http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/16/Fedora/x86_64/os/ Are there such mirrors for freebsd or openbsd? The reason I want direct installable ftp/http mirrors is because I can access my physical server only via ssh, and it doesn't have a X server or a window manager to give me a VNC GUI. When I tried installing centos 6 with an online mirror I was able to finish the installation via serial console, but after I rebooted it, the serial console never worked for me. I tried everything possible---editing menu.lst, inttab and securtty files. Fedora 16 booted fine from serial console, but got stuck when it loaded anaconda installer. I tried editing freebsd iso installation media by adding serial console option to boot option. And installation was successful. But couldn't boot into it becuase it wasn't giving console acess. I couldn't edit any files as ufs partition cannot be loaded with write access on my Ubuntu server 10.04. Only debian squeeze worked well, it worked for me even without editing a single configuration file. I want to have CLI versions of fedora/centos and freebsd/openbsd. But, looks like there isn't any hope for me to have them, as I have to depend on a serial console to do everything.

• finding the best network latency between two countries

  I know there are many tools to test for bandwidth and latency, but they all rely on having at least one host from which you can run those tests. I wonder whether there's an online source or some other way to guestimate the latency or speed between two countries (in general). For example, would a customer in Japan get lower latency if the server is located in Singapore or Australia? Is a user in India likely to get higher download speed from a server in the UK or in the US? Are there any online resources or some clever ways to answer those questions with a reasonable degree of accuracy? [UPDATE]: Thanks for the great suggestions from Raffael Luthiger. I didn't know about those looking glass servers. The submarine cable maps were also really cool to discover (Thanks to Jesper Mortensen). Also seems really wise if I could ask those network professional in the area for their experience, but obviously I don't have access to those. At least some of them are on SF :) However, I'm still a little unsure how to combine those resources to give me some measurements. This is the information I have: Two countries (A,B). I do have IP addresses of customers in country A (I can obtain those from the web server log files for example). Presumably I can find some looking glass servers in country B and run a trace to those IPs. What's the best measurements to use? Are there any scripts that help automate at least some of this process?

• Router not connecting to the internet

  I had a weird problem this morning with my router - it's an Alice Gate VoIP 2 Plus WI-FI - not connecting to the internet after more or less 1 hour online (I'm always connected with the ethernet cable). The led status lights for Power, WI-FI, ADSL, Internet, Service should be on in order to be connected and navigate online. The problem was that the leds ADSL, Internet were off and I did not know why because it never happened before. I looked at the stats in the settings and the numbers for Bytes/Packages for both Sent/Received were there and increasing but I couldn't connect to the internet. I called tech support, they checked and told me to keep the router on for 48 hours because they were checking it. I've reset it twice before and after I called tech support and it still did not work so after about 2 hours of waiting I tried connecting using WI-FI and the leds 'magically' turned on, first the ADSL and Internet(Internet led always turns on last). At this point I'm curious what could of caused this and I'm doubting that the tech-support guys did something. What could of been the problem with the ethernet cable not connecting in the first place? It always works. What do the tech support guys normally do when they tell me to keep the router on so they can 'check it'? PS: I'm using ubuntu 32 bit

• Raid-z unaccessible after putting one disk offline

  I have installed FreeNAS on a test server, with 3x 1Tb drives. They are setup in raidz. I tried to offline one of the disks (from the FreeNAS web-ui), and the array became degraded, as I think it should. The problem is with the array becoming unaccessible after that. I thought a raid like that should be able to run fine with one of the disks missing. Atleast very soon after I offline'd and pulled out the disk, the iSCSI share disappeared from a ESXi host's datastores. I also ssh'd into the FreeNAS server, and tried just executing ls /mnt/raid (/mnt/raid/ being the mount point). • Recommended offline on-demand virus scanners

  I have never run full anti-virus on my Windows XP systems. Instead I use various anti-malware tools to manually perform scans every few weeks. This approach, combined with Windows updates and general care about what web-sites I visit and what files I download has kept me 99% free of problems. The remaining 1% has occurred when I download files that I know may contain malware, but still decide the risk is worth it. When on 2 occasions in 10 years I did get caught doing this, I realised that being able to easily scan them would most likely have avoided getting infected. I don't need, or want, to run a "stay resident" anti-virus. Also, the online scanners such as Kaspersky etc limit uploads to small files, so these are not always useful. In summary I would like to simply be able to download a file and then manually initiate an on demand anti-virus scan, on the downloaded file only. I'm sure some/most Anti-Virus do both, however once again I don't really want to pay for or need the stay resident part. Any recommendations (commercial or free)? UPDATE: This is not an exact duplicate, nor a possible duplicate. I searched for and read other questions on anti-virus here at SuperUser and found none that answered my question. I am specifically asking about anti-virus scanners that run ON-DEMAND locally on the computer, not online scanners.

• How do I upgrade Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard (OEM Key) to Enterprise (MSDN Key) using DISM?

My Dell server came preinstalled with 2008 R2 Standard. I upgraded to Enterprise to take advantage of more than 32GB RAM. This server is purely for dev and testing, so I want to use my MSDN product key for the upgrade. I originally tried to uprade using the MSDN Enterprise key, but it wouldn't have it: dism /online /Set-Edition:ServerEnterprise /ProductKey:[MSDN key] => Error DISM DISM Transmog Provider: PID=5728 Product key is keyed to [], but user requested transmog to [ServerEnterprise] - CTransmogManager::ValidateTransmogrify I tried several things, including changing the current product key to the MSDN one. Eventually I used a KMS generic key which can be found in several technet forum posts. dism /online /Set-Edition:ServerEnterprise /ProductKey:[KMS Generic Key] ... and this appeared to work. I then changed the product key again (using the control panel) to the MSDN key, thinking that was the end of the matter. Only later when tried to start up VMs did I realise I only had 4GB of usable RAM. I didn't make the connection with the licensing changes at this point and went off on a wild goose chase of BIOS settings, memory configurations and the like. Only later when I saw this... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverTS/thread/6debc586-0977-4731-b418-ca1edb34fe8b ...did I make the connection and reapply the KMS Generic key - which gave me all the RAM back. But now I have a system that isn't properly licensed, presumably I won't be able to activate it as it is, so I've got 2 days to enjoy it. With the MSDN key applied, only 4GB RAM is usable. Is there a way round this without a) rebuilding the server from scratch with the MSDN key from the start or b) buying a retail Enterprise license

• Unable to Connect to just Google Servers

  I am in an extremely strange problem. I am unable to connect to just Google Servers. I am not able to access any site related to Google, Google.com | YouTube | Google+ | Webmaster Tools | jQuery CDN, nothing is working. I am able to open any other website (as I am posting this question on SuperUser), even the Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) are offline. Please Help!! Update 1: Google DNS are back online, YouTube is back online. But website on domain google.com is not working (ex: play.google.com, maps.google.com, google.com/search, etc). Update 2: I am able to access Google.com (only) with (one of) its IP addresss(s) listed below: 74.125.227.41 74.125.227.46 74.125.227.32 74.125.227.33 74.125.227.34 74.125.227.35 74.125.227.36 74.125.227.37 74.125.227.38 74.125.227.39 74.125.227.40 Update 3: I consulted my friends nearby and they said that they are also experiencing the same problem.
