• Custom Validator with an OR Condition

  Hi all, Right now i have an asp.net 2.0 app which allows a user to search by the following fields Location (Required if there is nothing in idnumber field) Address (Required if there is nothing in idnumber field) Zip (Required if there is nothing in idnumber field) **OR** IDNumber. (Required if there is nothing in any of the other fields) What i'd like to be able to do is validate this client side on button click and display a summary of errors. i.e. if a user leaves every criteria blank. I'd like to display "You must enter a IDNumber or "Location, Address, and Zip to continue" I've never used the Custom Validation control so here are some questions. 1) Is it able to do this? 2) Does anyone have an example of how to do this? I also tried to use CGRectMake like so : CGRectMake( sprite.position.x, sprite.position.y, sprite.contentSize.Width, sprite.contentSize.Height) But I couldn't access my sprites position or height. I keep getting "sprite" undeclared when it is declared in the init method, and added to the child. Please help!! I'm sure i'm missing something really simple here.

• Adding a SVN repository in Eclipse

  I'm trying to add an svn repository to eclipse. I've installed subclipse, and it seems to be working fine. But, when I try to "add a new SVN repository", I input this, for example: http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk I get this: Error validating location: "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.python.org) " Keep location anyway? I know that my eclipse can connect to the 'net because I downloaded subclipse earlier (I had to change my proxy settings). I get a similar message for other SVN locations I've tried to add. Anyone have any solutions?

  I have an application for iPhone which requires a search page to search a perticular location. I have created the search view and the main view also. But I'm facing problem when i'm trying to bring up the search view and also when trying to go back to the previous page with the selected cell content.My application is a Tab Bar Application. What My application need is just like the built in clock application in iPhone. • wp_redirect acting weird. requires die() afterward?

  I am writing a wordpress plugin that redirects the user. for some reason, wp_redirect does not work as think it should, namely: it seems not to redirect the user at all, unless I put a die command in directly after. here is some code: switch($_GET['wp_favorites_tax']) { case 'post_tag': wp_redirect(add_query_arg('tag', $_GET['wp_favorites_term'], get_bloginfo('url'))); die(); break; case 'category': wp_redirect(add_query_arg('cat', $_GET['wp_favorites_term'], get_bloginfo('url'))); die(); break; default: wp_redirect(get_bloginfo('url')); die(); } It seems really strange to me that I should have to tell my script to die so that the redirect can work. • How do I pass a reference type to Control.Invoke / display a form centered on the main form

  I'm on a thread other than the UI thread and need to display a modal form that's centered on the application's main form. What I usually do is use the width and height of the main form and the modal form to calculate the location, then use the PointToScreen method of the main form to get the location of the modal form. Since I'm on another thread I need to use Control.Invoke to call this method. I just can't figure out how to pass a parameter of type Point to Control.Invoke (params object[]). Value types and String works fine. Or, if someone can find a better way to display a form centered on the main form regardless of thread, that would be great. MessageBox seems to be able to do this (although not modally).

• C#: How do I get the path of the assembly the code is in?

  Is there a way to get the path for the assembly in which the current code resides? I do not want the path of the calling assembly, just the one containing the code. Basically my unit test needs to read some xml test files which are located relative to the dll. I want the path to always resolve correctly regardless of whether the testing dll is run from TestDriven.NET, the MbUnit GUI or something else. Edit: People seem to be misunderstanding what I'm asking. My test library is located in say c:\projects\myapplication\daotests\bin\Debug\daotests.dll and I would like to get the "*c:\projects\myapplication\daotests\bin\Debug*" path. The three suggestions so far fail me when I run from the MbUnit Gui: Console.Out.Write(Environment.CurrentDirectory) gives c:\Program Files\MbUnit Console.Out.Write(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(DaoTests)).Location) gives C:\Documents and Settings\george\Local Settings\Temp\ ....\DaoTests.dll Console.Out.Write(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location) gives the same as the previous

  My primary computing setup is a macbook pro with a large external monitor. I'm looking for a convenient way of moving a number of the windows of open programs from the laptop screen to the external monitor when I plug it in. I've seen a few partial scripts for accomplishing this, but nothing comprehensive. Ideally I'd like to specify the laptop screen location and external monitor location for each window and be able to toggle between them. Is anyone aware of any existing utility or Applscripts that can perform this?

  Hello, I am using LINQ-To-Entities in C# and run queries against a SQL Compact Server 3.5 SP2. What I try to achieve is a simple group by with an additional where clause which includes a Count(). var baseIdent="expression"; var found=from o in ObservedElements where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent==baseIdent group o by o.ID into grouped where grouped.Count()==1 select new {key=grouped.Key, val=grouped}; foreach(var res in found){ //do something here } This query throws the famous exception "A parameter is not allowed in this location. Ensure that the '@' sign and all other parameters are in a valid location in the SQL statement." When I either omit the where clause OR directly enter the expression "expression" in the query (where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent=="expression") everything just works fine.   I'm sure it's pretty straightforward since someone just solved a similar problem I had. I have a folder full of city images and need users to see the image corresponding to their city. Right now I'm getting the users location without problem using "geoip_city()" but I don't quite know how to integrate it into the URL of the image. All images have the following format: New York.jpg, Boston.jpg so I just need to make the script put the location before .jpg This is what I'm trying now: <img src="blank.png" id="image" > <script type="text/javascript"> document.getElementById('image').src = "Imagenes/grupos/' + geoip_city() + '.jpg"; </script> I believe I'm just messing with the quotes or something similar.   Can Permalink_fu combine 2 or more model attributes to create a unique permalink? Let's say I have a Business Model, this model contains :name, :address, :phone, :city, :state, :country etc. attributes. Right now I have permalink set up in this model only for :name has_permalink :name So I would get "/biz/name". However I would like to combine the Business name, city, and a incremental number if there are more than 1 location in the city for that business. For example I would like to use: "/biz/joes-coffee-shack-chicago" for the permalink or if a multple location business "/biz/starbucks-chicago-92" Is this possible with the current permalink_fu plugin or some fork of permalink_fu? Or will this require some modification to the permalink_fu plugin?

• Is it possible to change a exe's icon without recompiling it?

  Hi all, I have lot of executable that I have compiled (long time back) for many of which I don't have sourcecode now. But when I compiled them I didn't put any icons for them, so they all look like same dull, bald default icon. So my questions are, (1) is it possible for me to write a software that can change the resources section of the exe and change its looks? If so, can anyone plz point me to the location where its explained? (I am a beginner, I have no idea on the exe format and all) Also its fun to keep changing Icons without having the pain of recompiling everything just for the icon change... (2) This is raises a natural converse question, Is it similarly possible to zap out the icon used by some file and use it for some other file?   My setting: Apache 2.2 + Tomcat 6.0 @ Windows 2008 R2 64bit static webpages: / servlet: /foo tomcat and apache are connected by mod_jk 404.jsp is placed in tomcat\webapps\ROOT tomcat\conf\web.xml: <error-page> <error-code>404</error-code> <location>/404.jsp</location> </error-page> apache\conf\extra\httpd-ssl.conf: JkMount /foo/* worker1 JkMount /404.jsp worker1 When I open https://...../404.jsp my custom error page is displayed. But when I open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html an empty page is displayed. If I remove the <error-page>...</error-page> code from web.xml and open https://...../foo/nonexisting.html then tomcats own 404 is displayed. Any hints?

• Markers in Google Maps Application

  I am supposed to display a certain location using Google Maps application. I have lat/long values and tried Intent.ACTION_VIEW with "geo:lat,long?z=15" uri. The Google Maps application loads centered on the supplied lat-long value but obviously does not display any marker(overlays) pin-pointing the location. Is it possible to request the Google Maps App to display markers? Also, the zoom level paramater doesnt seem to work. Maps load at the default zoom level of 10. I can easily achieve this using MapActivity but Google Map App is what is desired. Thanks

  So you have two taxonomies, namely: "Business Type" and "Location" This is assigned to a node called BUSINESS. In effect, when the user creates a BUSINESS node, her has to choose for example, location "New York" and type "Information Services". My problem is when: a) Capturing the taxonomy, and b) Displaying the taxonomy I want the two terms to be separated from each other. I.e. I want to be able to move the two terms individual positions in the MANAGE FIELDS view, so that they can be grouped or placed seperately. Currently, Drupal only allows one entry, called "TAXONOMY" which is effectively the two terms next to each other. • caching static files for ruby on rails application using nginx

  I have been trying for some time to serve & cache static files for my rails app using nginx. the rails app server runs mongrel_cluster and is deployed on a different host than that of nginx. following many of the available discussions I tried the following server { listen 80; server_name www.myappserver.com; ssl on; root /var/apps/myapp/current/public; location ~ ^/(images|javascripts|stylesheets)/ { root /var/apps/myapp/current; expires 10y; } location / { proxy_pass http://myapp_upstream; } } But nginx fails to find the images and to load the css and js files. Can anyone help me out here? My aim is to configure nginx in such a way that it caches the static files till expiry. Please suggest me some way to achieve this or am I missing any point here?

  I have heard a lot about version control and would like to work on it. I read some tutorials about the same. However i am not quite sure how svn works with xampp. I have installed svn, Tortoise svn and made the necessary changes in xampp. For instance i copied the two required modules to c:/xampp/apache/modules and also made changes to the conf file in apache. Here are the changes made in c:/xampp/apache/conf/httpd.conf. # Configure Subversion repository <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNPath “C:\svn” AuthType Basic AuthName “Subversion repository” AuthUserFile “c:\svn_conf\passwd” Require valid-user </Location>t I created the repository at c:/svn and also created the password file. However when i visit http:/localhost/svn i get a 404 page not found error. Where am i going wrong. what am i missing.? Any pointers?? Thanks in advance.

  Hi, I'm writing a Maven plugin that merges CSS files together. So all the CSS files that match /foo/bar/*.css might get merged to /foo/merged.css. A concern is that in a file such as /foo/bar/baz.css there might be a property such as: background: url("images/pic.jpg") So when the file is merged into /foo/merged.css this will need to be changed to background: url("bar/images/pic.jpg") The recalculated URL obviously depends on 3 factors: original URL original CSS file location merged CSS file location Assuming that the original and merged CSS files are both on the same filesystem, is there a general formula (or Java library) that can be used to calculate the new url given these 3 inputs? This method here works apart from the fact that the results over a certain distance are still in the table, they are just not graphically visible. I am led to believe that i have to carry out the filtering process before the formatting the table but i can not seem to do this. Please help. My xcode skills are not brilliant so code suggestions would be helpfull.
