• remote_form_for in index.html.erb file not working w/ AJAX...Ruby on Rails...

  Just curious if I am overlooking something simple here. I have deployed the remote_form_for in the show.html.erb code before to render comments on a post (project in this case) without a problem. I have moved this code to the index view and seems to degrade to the normal form_for action (page refresh). I am not getting any javascript errors so not sure what is wrong here. • qt custom widgets propertis are not getting updated properly in Qt designer

  I have created a custom widget. The widget gets loaded fine,the properties appear in QT Designer, Only problem is every time I change the property of Alpha key,the numeric also gets set, Though the accessor functions are different,and the enums are differnet and values are different. Also whenever i check the Form-view code,the values would have got modified. • To change checkbox text or to not change?

  Hi, I'm having an argument with a co-worker, and I'm trying to convince him that it's a bad idea to change checkbox text (label) according to the checkbox state. For example, we have a combobox that automatically picks selected value (and is disabled) when checkbox next to it is checked and is enabled when checkbox is cleared. His idea is to show Autoselect when checkbox is checked and Manual select when it's cleared. I'm sure that this will confuse the user as users tend to think that checking a checkbox next to a verb will make it true, only to find that the label has changed to something else. What is your opinion on this matter? P.S. I remember reading about changing checkbox text somewhere, in a book or blog article, but can't remember where. It would be great to have this in writing :-)

• Change highlighting of certain subviews in a UITableViewCell

  Is it possible to exclude certain subviews in a UITableViewCell from being highlighted or to change their highlight implementation? I added an orange warning label to the UITableViewCell for certain occassions and it highlights properly with the rest of the cell, which is good. However, when the cells stops being highlighted in an animated way, you first see the background of the warning label become white and then flash to orange. I would either like it to be excluded from being highlighted at all, or to change it's highlight implementation so it animates back to orange properly.

  Migrating from iOS , i might do something stupid ,but after 1 hour i couldn't change the text in a NSTextField.   I basically need to show a wait window to the user. For this i have put two seperate window forms in the application. the first form is the main form with a button. The second one is a empty one with just a label text. On click of the button in Form1 i do the below Form2 f = new Form2(); f.Show(); Thread.Sleep(2000); f.Close(); My idea here is to show the wait window to the user for 2 second. But when i do this the Form 2 is not completely loaded because of which the label in it is blank. Please let me know your inputs on this.

  I'm using this method to embed custom fonts in my iPhone app. The embedding works: When I run the following code, the fonts are listed. (Currently, I'm embedding all family members of Myriad Pro in OTF format) for( NSString *familyName in [UIFont familyNames] ){ for( NSString *fntName in [UIFont fontNamesForFamilyName:familyName] ){ NSLog(@"%@", fntName); }} When I try to set the font of a label to MyriadPro or MyriadPro-Bold, this works just as expected. However, when I set the font to MyriadPro-BoldCond, the label is still set in MyriadPro-Bold instead of the condensed version. (The font names are correct, I checked.)
