• What is the the best way to become an iPhone developer?

  I have no experience as a programmer but I'd like to become a iPhone developer. Some people tell me to learn java because it is a Object Oriented Language. Other people tell me to go with C++. However, everyone advises me to actually learn any language and learn what programming is all about before I actually develop for iPhone. Please, let me know what would be the best choice and what books would be good for a total beginner and any website that offers any good tutorials. Thanks in advance for all the feedback.

  At times when we develop new features or functionality, we gradually "turn it on" to ensure a smooth transition and minimal impact for users. Instead of one big sudden change, we are able to control with the configuration aspects of the functionality that make it more or less intrusive to the user. This is all done in the same release/version of the software, so no software development changes are required (unless bugs turn up that need to be fixed). For example, initially we may only perform logging or analysis of data without acting upon it. Or we make something optional for a period of time before it becomes compulsory. The idea is that this reduces the potential for problems either on the technical side as well as unexpected changes by the user. The question is, is there a formal name for this approach?

  Here's my scenario, I need to develop a scalable application. My user base may be over 100K, every user has 10 or more small tasks. Tasks check every minute with a third party application through web services, retrieving data which is written in the database, then the data is forwarded to it's original destination. • Having trouble's understanding NIF model file format?

  I'm attempting too develop a 3rd party application to make it easy to import 3d model part's into my mod for skyrim the plan was to have a fileviewer and preview window of the nif model but since , I don't know what the NIF file format actually is or where to get the vertex data from it or the hole nine yards of parsing a text file in detail I'm at a lost what to do. I'm very good at C++ but not at this super over complicated file formats , id much prefer .obj over the nif file format specification here -- http://niftools.sourceforge.net/doc/nif/index.html If someone could help me in understanding the file format in a natural and simple way and the exact parsing needed to create the 3D Model in the frustum and a explanation on how you figured that out would be happy to know.   Now since the latest java exploit, and many others in the past, people are again recommended to get rid of java on their computers for good. I, as a java web applications developer, am think about possible alternatives. Many seem to have gotten rid of java, so I would not like to develop for an environmet, that users do not have on their computers, and that they are not willing to install for security reasons. Are there any other real options that HTML5 + JS? (Don't take me wrong about not wanting HTML5+JS, I just want to know the options)

I can't find good books about Windows Operating System Programming Topic Examples; Explaining Windows 7 (or even 8) registry. Which registry entry turn on/off "showing desktop icons" Or, What is Windows registry defrag?, How can you defrag registry?, How can you optimize windows startup for( Windows 7 ) etc. I googled my questions, find msdn-some stackoverflow topics etc. But I can't find a book about low-level explaining current windows 7 operating system...   I got interested in the Soviet space program and was interested to discover that the software on the Buran spacecraft circa 1988 was written in Prolog. Does anyone know what languages might have been used in earlier missions, especially the Mars PrOP-M rover missions of the early 1970s which were somewhat autonomous and could navigate obstacles?   Hello,I'd like to develop apps for Windows Phone 7,but I can't register at AppHub,because my country (Slovakia) is not supported. A guy from Microsoft said that I need to find someone under whom I'd publish those apps. Where would I find somebody who'd be willing to register there and basically act as my publisher? I'm risking that he'd take my app earnings and disappear if it's not an honest person. What would the "publisher" risk by signing his name under my apps? Or are any of you willing to do it?

  I want to test websites for JavaScript malware presence . I plan to develop a Python program that sends the URL of a given website to a virtual machine where the dynamic execution of the eventual malicious JavaScript embedded in the website's page is monitored. My questions: Should my VM be Windows or Linux ? What if the malware damages my VM: is there a hint how to avoid that ? Or launch a new VM automatically instead ? If I use telnet client library to communicate with the VM: must I implement a server within the VM to deal with my queries or can I overcome this ? I am jut looing for hints, general ideas.   From the perspective of a developer what do you consider to be the most important environmental factors or work place perks/policies that contribute to increase productivity? For example, my top four includes the following: No internet restrictions - Because honestly ever few hours I need a 15 min deload, which usually involves checking my gmail account and or browsing a few choice site. Personal office with a door - for obvious reasons Dual monitors - do people really develop software with one monitor still? Flexible hours - This could be interpreted in different ways, but basically I really appreciate that fact that I can roll into work at 7am, 11am or whenever and the time police aren't on my back. It is just understood that I will put in my 8 hours or more if needed and get my job done however that works out.

• AntClassLoader bug exposed by forgetful NetBeans

  Many users have run into ClassNotFoundExceptions and NoClassDefFoundErrors after working with web services that target GlassFish while developing their projects in NetBeans. The issue usually appears as a dialog similar to this This can be pretty debilitating. The bug appears to be in the AntClassLoader, which is tickled by the wsimport ant task that ships with GlassFish 3.1.2. The fix is pretty simple: Upgrade the Metro bits that ship in 3.1.2 with bits that have had a patch applied. There are detailed instruction about installing the updated Metro bits onto GlassFish. This upgrade is probably useful for any install of GlassFish 3.1, but it is critically important for folks that develop web services from inside NetBeans and deploy them onto GlassFish 3.1.2.

  My development env. is, Win7 Ultimate Ruby 1.9.2p180 Rails 3.0.9 Gem 1.8.5 sqlite3 and mysql2 gems are installed My IDE is netbeans 7.0. ruby plugin for netbeans 7.0 is installed. i want to create a new rails app thru netbeans. but it hangs at the process of 25%. does someone hit the same issue? Is there a solution? From the output, i can see the rails app file structures are created. I know some of you may suggest me to use linux to develop rails app. that's an option. but i am newer to linux. i'd like to use win7 at present.

• Easiest Way to Get Started With 3D?

  I'm looking at getting into 3D game development and am wondering what would be the best, quickest engine to get started with. I need to be able to develop on a Macintosh with it. I know Java, and PHP mainly but have worked in many others. At this point, I feel I can adapt to most languages quite easy. So the programming language doesn't really matter to me. I've sorta kinda tried unity in the past and wasn't all too fond of it, so it's kind of a "I can't find anything better" resort. I'm hoping with how open I am I will find something I like more. I have a ground with a texture and now I want to make a surrounding texture. The texture is an image wich should be bend around the ground. At the moment im using easelJS for display my images/textures. So im looking for some sort of Tutorial/Script/Advice. Im not even sure if I can bend a image in javascript.   Basically I want to develop a Address lookup(part of my project) using C# (and I can use SQL if necessary). I have a very large text file which have all the UK address and postcodes. Addresses needs to be looked up from this text file. For example, as soon as a user type in the first letter of the postcode it should list all the postcodes starting with that letter and as they type in further, the list should narrow down. Could you guys please how I can do this search very fast and list the results in a efficient way. If you guys know any methods and technologies pls do advice.

I was just wondering if it is in anyway unprofessional doing it this way (Impression is something we are really worried about), will people who visit the site look at our business different knowing we used Magento or any other e-commerce platform. Given that I have no commercial experience to speak of -- and no undergraduate degree -- how can I best demonstrate my programming ability in order to interview for a job? How valuable are the various software certifications? Should I get the OCA? Should I submit samples of my code? Are there some other skills that I should develop? (I picked up Python and Java fairly quickly--a matter of weeks, actually.) I am a undergrad working on a triple major in math, stat and econ. I consider myself proficient with Python and have a working knowledge of Java.

  I'm a Microsoft Stack(ASP.NET, C#) developer. Mainly, I develop server side software, windows services, restful apis etc. My client side interaction is really really low. So aside from C# I want to learn a new language. Time is precious and I want to give my focus to a language which have a future. My language list is: Scala (Powerful usage in Twitter) Go (Getting popular and channels are pretty awesome) Erlang (Stable server side programs. Used at Whatsapp) You can give advice for the above or you can give me a better option. My only exception is Objective-C. I don't want to get in that one. Thanks
