    Hello! How do I know that I can safely upgrade Boost Serialization Library on a production system without breaking compatibility with the existing data ? Is there any test that I should perform in order to be sure that all data stored in the binary format by previous version of the library will be successfully read by the new one ? Does Boost Serialization library itself guarantee some sort of compatibility between versions ?

  • SQL. Sorting by a field

    I have created a simple view consisting of 3 tables in SQL. By right clicking and selecting Design, in the Object explorer table, i modified my custom view. I just added sortby asc in a field. The problem is that the changes are not reflected in the outout of the View. After saving the view, and selecting Open view the sort is not displayed in output. So what is going on here?

  • How to avoid strange characters before the request in firefox?

    Hi, on a website i'm currently developing I'm using jquery to do all sort of magic things :-) In firefox however, when I load jquery 1.4.2 there are sometimes funny characters in front of the request. You can see the strangers characters in this screenshot (thank you firebug). In safari, Chrome and IE these funny characters don't appear, jquery is loading fine in those browsers. Why are those characters appearing and how can I remove them? Thanks!!

  • Why do I get so many errors building my Android project with Ant?

    Now that I sort of know my way around the SDK/API, I've switched from Eclipse back to my favorite text editor, which means I have to use ant to build my project, however: It seems every other time I compile the project, a lot of drawables get corrupted, resources lose their ids (resulting in NPEs in the code), or classes throw "Verify Errors". The only way to fix this is by removing the bin and gen folders, and recompiling, which is obviously annoying. Is there any way to avoid this? btw, I'm using ant 1.7.1, java version "1.6.0_20"

    Let's say I run an ActiveRecord query and it returns 3 results, with a bunch of attributes. I want to add 3 attributes to each record in the Array so I can do sorting at a code-level. These 3 include: num_comments, num_views, last_view. How do I add these attributes? How do I then sort the records, in order of precendence, by num_comments AND by num_views AND by last_view?

    Do graphic cards have instruction sets of their own? I assume they do, but I have been wondering if it is proprietary or if there is some sort of open standard. Is every GPU instruction preceded by a CPU instruction or is it seamless? That is does OpenGL or DirectX call on the driver layer via the CPU which then sends a GPU instruction down the bus or is it more elaborate.

    I am using DynamicData in the version that shipped with VS2008. In the default List view, the data is sorted by order of entry into the database. I'd like to get it sorted by a field of a specific name (descending). As a last resort I tried to use the OrderByParameter of the LinqDataSource with a QueryStringParameter, but I could not get it to sort anything. =) Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

    I've created a jquery table that from time to time needs to be cleared and the re-populated, my clear method is this: //Clear table content before repopulating values $('#tabela_dash2_maquinas .real-content table tr:gt(0)').remove(); Now i'm trying to use tablesorter to sort a specific column, but my problem is that when I enable the tablesorter: //Initialize tablesorter $("table").tablesorter(); The table clearing method is not working anymore, it just keeps adding the new data with the old data, creating a lot of repeated information. Please help

    I seem to recall hearing at some point (I believe it was MIX09) that Microsoft has a licensing model of some sort where a business can consume licenses for up to two years, free of charge, until they reach a point where they are stable position and can pay their licensing at the end of two years. However, I can't find information regarding it online. I want to say that possibly stackoverflow used this licensing model to kick start their site. Is anyone familiar with this?

    Currently, I have osmething like this in all of my classes: # Import logging to log information import logging # Set up the logger LOG_FILENAME = 'log.txt' logging.basicConfig(filename=LOG_FILENAME,level=logging.DEBUG) This works well, and I get the output I want, but I would really like to have all this sort of information in one place, and be able to just do something like import myLogger and then start logging, and then hopefully be able to just go into that file and turn off logging when I need an extra performance boost. Please give me the code from this point onwards: readln(myfile,arr[i]); 'myfile' is the text file and 'arr' is the array of string. Also, I have declared 'i' as an integer even though it is a array of string. Is that OK?
