• reference dll not copying to bin with deployment project causing error

  We have several external dlls being referenced in our Web Application Project. We have a deployment project for installing on the hosting servers. When we were using .net 3.5 and vs2008 the dll were being copied to the bin folder. Since we have upgraded to .net 4 vs2010 this no longer happens and we are getting servers errors since the references cannot be found. CopyLocal is set to true, and i cannot find anything inside the web.config which suggest this is being set else where.

  My app has outgrown just the one vps server (using Mediatemple DV). I want to put the database on another server. Does it have to be another Mediatemple server? Is it possible to use another hosting company and will the connections across the internet cause a slowdown if I choose to use say Rackspace or Linode for the DB server? btw, using mysql

  I am generating a System.Drawing.Bitmap on the fly in an ASP.NET Custom Web Server Control, and then I want to serve this bitmap as part of the WebResource, because I do not want to save it on the hosting computer. Is there a way to instruct ASP.NET to serve the generated System.Drawing.Bitmap as part of it's WebResource? (therefore making it an "Embedded Resource")

• How to test crontab entry?

  I have an entry in my crontab that looks like this: 0 3 * * * pg_dump mydb | gzip > ~/backup/db/$(date +%Y-%m-%d).psql.gz That script works perfectly when I execute it from the shell, but it doesn't seem to be running every night. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the permissions, maybe crontab is running under a different user or something. How can I debug this? I'm a shared hosting environment (WebFaction).

• Iframe covers navigation bar, needs close, open to fix?

When I put invalid input inside the form, the iframe covers up the navigation bar and I can't get the navigation bar back without closing and opening the page again.   I have a .Net web application that for performance issues gets all the static data (CSS, Images, JS) from an external server that is on different location and different hosting company. I want to enable SSL on my site without the users getting a message: "Page contains both secure and insecure elements" Does this means I’ll have to get two SSL Certificates one for each server?   I installed rvm as root to setup an Ubuntu LTS 8.04 as a web hosting server for my rails apps. rvm is installed in: /usr/local/rvm Everything works fine, gems installation included and users are able to use ruby and gem commands. sudo gem install rails My problem is that the gems EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY is not included in my PATH and thus I cannot use rails command. Is there a way to dynamycally include gems executable directory in my PATH? Can it be done directly through rvm?
