  • How to call an programmatically generated event for wxRadioButton in wxWidgets ?

    I am trying to programmatically change a value of a wxRadioButton in a way the user would do it. A value change doesn't call the event corresponded to the button, and it make sense since the documentation says it clearly: wxRadioButton::SetValue void SetValue(const bool value) Sets the radio button to selected or deselected status. This does not cause a wxEVT_COMMAND_RADIOBUTTON_SELECTED event to get emitted. So the question is how can I call an programmatically generated event for a wxRadioButton ? I guess that it's something to do with: wxWindow window->AddPendingEvent(wxEvent *event ) A simple example would be greatly appreciated.

  • ASP.NET control event handler not firing on postback?

    I have a control which has an ImageButton which is tied to an OnClick event... Upon clicking this control, a postback is performed and the event handler is not called. AutoEventWireup is set to true, and I've double checked spelling etc.... We haven't touched this control in over a year and it has been working fine until a couple of weeks ago. We have made changes to controls which load this control... so I'm wondering, what kind of changes could we have made to stop this event handler from being called? There is quite a bit of Javascript going on, so this could be the culprit too... Edit: Some clarification... we are dynamically loading the parent control of the ImageButton in the OnLoad event of the page... if that makes sense.

  • How can I stop IIS7 (integrated mode) from reporting a 404 before I get a chance to handle it?

    I have an ASP.NET MVC 2 application running on IIS7 in integrated mode. I'm trying to do my own 404 handling, but IIS7 seems to be intercepting the error and returning its own 404 message to the client before I get a chance to handle it. I'm not having much luck coming at the problem from a programming perspective over on Stack Overflow, so I wondered if maybe it's a configuration problem. Is there something I have to do to tell IIS to let me handle my own errors? (I'm trying to use Application_Error in my global.asax but it's not even getting there). There is a custom error page defined (at the machine level, I think) for 404 but when I tried removing that it didn't really help - it simply showed a bald one-liner message instead. My code still didn't get a look in. Is it perhaps something to do with the routing? Maybe the "mysite.com/nosuchpage" URL isn't being routed to me and that's why I don't get a chance to intercept it? Do I need to do something so that ALL requests get routed through my app?

I want to be able to pass the event and not the object housing the event to the StartListening method.

    Suppose there are ~10,000's of keys, where each key corresponds to a stream of events. I'd like to support the following operations: push(key, timestamp, event) - pushes event to the event queue for key, marked with the given timestamp. It is guaranteed that event timestamps for a particular key are pushed in sorted or almost sorted order. tail(key, timestamp) - get all events for key since the given timestamp. Usually the timestamp requests for a given key are almost monotonically increasing, almost synchronously with pushes for the same key. This stuff has to be persistent (although it is not absolutely necessary to persist pushes immediately and to keep tails with pushes strictly in sync), so I'm going to use some kind of database. What is the optimal kind of database structure for this task? Would it be better to use a relational database, a key-value storage, or something else?

    Hello, This should be fairly simple, but I can't get my head around it. I have an event in my database with a startDate and an endDate. I need to display this event (based on the current date) on every day the event occurs. So if the event starts on the 3rd of May and finishes on the 7th of May, the SQL query must find it on every single day. How can I achieve this? SELECT * FROM events WHERE startDate ??? Thanks, Tim

    I am currently troubleshooting a large and unwieldy GUI-based tool in Visual Studio, and was wondering whether there is any way to get some kind of notification (either by writing to the console or through a third-party tool) whenever any handled event occurs. This would make it a lot easier to track down what precisely is going on while I am interacting with this beast. Is there an 'on any event being handled' event I can handle, or some kind of add-in for VS which would make this possible?

    MSDN documentation seems silent on whether RegCreateKeyEx ever updates the value of the handle referred to by its second-last parameter when it fails. My tests have only shown it not to update this - i.e., I set h = 0 before the call, pass &h to a call to RegCreateKeyEx to open a non-existent key, and see h = 0 after the call. Does anyone know of any situation in which the handle would be changed?

    Hi, I would like to remove ALL handlers for a given event type. Let's say I've added twice "onclick event" to a button and now I would like to return back to the original state where no event handler was set to the button. How can I do that? P.S.: I've found removeEventListener (non-IE)/detachEvent (IE) methods but the functions want me to pass as a parameter the function that handles the event which seems to me quite clumsy because I would have to store the functions somewhere.     When you subscribe to an event in .NET, the subscription is added to a multicast delegate. When the event is fired, the delegates are called in the order they were subscribed. I'd like to override the subscription somehow, so that the subscriptions are actually fired in the reverse order. Can this be done, and how?     Hello, in a German programming forum we currently have a discussion about events and what you (grammatically) do with them. The MSDN talks about "Event Raising" and "to raise an event". Thus, this seems to be one possibility. Are there any other synonyms? What about "to trigger an event" and "to fire an event"? A Google search will bring results for all of the three possibilities. This, however, does not mean that they are correct, too, of course. Are they? Are there any (stylistic, ...) differences or are they used in different contexts?     Let's say I have the following HTML code <div id="outer"> <div id="inner">Hello World</div> </div> At the end of my HTML page, I use javascript to attach event handlers like so, document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} document.getElementById('outer').onclick = function() { /* An Ajax Call where the response, which will be a string of HTML content, then goes into document.getElementById('outer').innerHTML */ document.getElementById('inner').onclick = function() {alert(this.innerHTML);} } In the above code, I am expecting <div id="inner">Hello World 2</div> to come back which requires me to re-attach the onclick event handler. This makes sense because the new response coming back is just a string, and I have to tell the browser that after converting to DOM, i also need some event handlers So my question is, is there a better way to manage event handlers on AJAX response that contains HTML content? I could use inline javascript within the html response, but then it prevents me from achieving non-intrusive javascript. So is there a way to achieve non-intrusive javascript and an efficient way to "maintain" event handlers of ajax html responses?

    Hello, This question doesn't relate only to MouseEvent.CLICK event type but to all event types that already exist in AS3. I read a lot about custom events but until now I couldn't figure it out how to do what I want to do. I'm going to try to explain, I hope you understand: Here is a illustration of my situation: for(var i:Number; i < 10; i++){ var someVar = i; myClips[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, doSomething); } function doSomething(e:MouseEvent){ /* */ } But I want to be able to pass someVar as a parameter to doSomething. So I tried this: for(var i:Number; i < 10; i++){ var someVar = i; myClips[i].addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, function(){ doSomething(someVar); }); } function doSomething(index){ trace(index); } This kind of works but not as I expect. Due to the function closures, when the MouseEvent.CLICK events are actually fired the for loop is already over and someVar is holding the last value, the number 9 in the example. So every click in each movie clip will call doSomething passing 9 as the parameter. And it's not what I want. I thought that creating a custom event should work, but then I couldn't find a way to fire a custom event when the MouseEvent.CLICK event is fired and pass the parameter to it. Now I don't know if it is the right answer. What should I do and how?
