  • Custom sorting on UltraWebGrid - ASP .NET

    How can I accomplish custom sorting on the Infragistics UltraWebGrid? I've tried to hadle the SortColumn event and it works, however, whenever I click the column header, the columns are sorted via JavaScript in the website before the event is fired in the server side? Now if I navigate to a url such as "/Controller/id/" then the grid will send a GET to "/GridData/" instead of "/Controller/id/GridData/". Can I make the GET relative so that I can pick the id up on the server side or do I have to manually pass the id as a parmater using javascript on the client?

    I am investigating automated testing of an old Win32 application that used ActiveX controls. I am spiking use White (from Thougthworks) that uses Microsoft UIAutomation. I can find the AutomationElement related to the control, but how do I interact with it? Spy++ sees the grid control as a single window, so I can't talk to rows, columns, or cells directly.   • jqGrid cell editing need to position the error message dialog

    I'm using jqGrid with cell editing. I have setup the colModel properties using the editrules option. Everything works fine in that if I edit a cell and try to save an invalid value the grid displays an error dialog, but I need to know how to position the error message dialog that comes up because in the case of my layout it ends up behind a video. I'm not quite sure how to hook into this and there don't seem to be any obvious options on how to do it.

From what I have found on the net the DataGridView is designed to pass all key events from DataGridView to the cell editing control and you cannot get these events easily.   • Hide overflow in Silverlight TextBox

    I have a Silverlight TextBox control that is inside of a Grid column with the width set to 'Auto', so the TexBox's width expands/contracts with the browser window is resized. Unfortunately, when the number of characters entered into the textbox exceeds the textbox's width, the textbox grows to accommodate it. Are there any properties that can be applied to the textbox that will force it to not expand with the number of characters inside of it? Thanks.

    Hello, I have a DataGridView that I am binding to a POCO. I have the databinding working fine. However, I have added a combobox column that I want to be different for each row. Specifically, I have a grid of purchased items, some of which have sizes (like Adult XL, Adult L) and other items are not sized (like Car Magnet.) So essentially what I want to change is the DATA SOURCE for a combobox column in the data grid. Can that be done? What event can I hook into that would allow me to change properties of certain columns FOR EACH ROW? An acceptable alternative is to change a property when the user clicks or tabs into the row. What event is that? Seth EDIT I need more help with this question. With Triduses help I am SO close but I need a bit more information. First, per the question, is the CellFormatting event really the best/only event for changing the DataSource for a combo box column. I ask because I am doing something rather resource/data intensive, not merely formatting the cell. Second, the cellformatting event is being called just by having the mouse hover over the cell. I tried to set the FormattingApplied property inside my if-block and then I check for it in the if- test but that is returning a weird error message. My ideal situation is that I would apply change the data source for the combo box once for each row and then be done with it. Finally, in order to set the data source of the combobox colunm I have to be able to cast the Cell inside my if block to a type of DataGridViewComboBoxColumn so that I can fill it with rows or set the datasource or something. Here is the code I have right now.
